Go to the Pokestop, click it and spin the picture. Afterwards, click on the items it drops.
It's kinda bullshit that they explain Nome of this. I shouldn't have to Google it or go on GAF and ask about it.

You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you.
Do we know the actual distances the footprints represent yet?
Because I have a dragonite that shows 3 prints......................
They do, but it's a bit hidden. If you go to Settings you will notice a quick start link which will explain how Pokestops and Gyms work. It's kinda bullshit that they explain Nome of this. I shouldn't have to Google it or go on GAF and ask about it.

In my experience, it's way less than that. Also, I agree with nerdstick, rare encounters do expire quite fast. The stronger the Pokemon, the less time you have to go out and catch it.Someone said that's 1km...
iOS. Is this supposed to have notifications outside of the game, or is it only doing its thing when the app is actively open & visible? It's not even appearing in Settings > Notifications for me.
With the way it's been going with the login and registration issue, they completely dropped the ball. It's been terrible since launch.
It's either they completely missed the mark (incompetence) or being too cheap to have proper setup. Neither is acceptable.
The saddest part for me is that I like the game while I could play for like 20 minutes in the past 3 days.
The game must be open and running, how else would they get you to buy the stupid $35 dollar watch? =P
The attacks you get are random. CP is mostly dependant on your trainer level. As you go up you will notice that you are able to find Pokemon with much higher CP. So, you should probably save the candy while you're on low level and evolve only the extremely common Pokemon just for the XP and holding gyms. Can someone explain to me CP and how leveling works?
I just got another Bulbasaur and he has 136 CP with Tackle(12) and Seedbomb(30) and then I have a Bulbasaur I got at the start that has 14 CP but has Tackle (12) and Powerwhip (60)
The main difference I see is HP, but that powerwhip seems pretty strong. I am sort of contemplating just leveling the lower one
I want to know too.Someone on the last page asked this, but it wasn't answered and I had the same question.
Do we know if powering up before evolution helps (like Fire Emblem)? Or should I aim to evolve as soon as possible?

So you want to throw your Pokeball when the circle is at it's biggest right? I don't know where I read the opposite, but I was doing that until I noticed I got Nice! only if the circle was big.
You get a Nice, Great or Excellent bonus when you hit the inside of the smaller circle. BUT, the smaller the circle is, the easier it is to catch the Pokemon. You also get a 10xp bonus for a curveball, but honestly, I don't think it's worth it, since spinning the ball makes it incredibly easy to miss.So you want to throw your Pokeball when the circle is at it's biggest right? My town is overrun with Red trainers and I had the pleasure of meeting some while walking down the road from my house that has 2 pokestops and a gym. Well they are speeding around in a residential area cursing out people playing they game and giving people shit. I told them fuck off and I was calling the police with their license plate after they harassed some middle school kids trying to beat the gym they were holding. Police in my town are worthless. "You want us to come there because kids are playing a game?". No, I want you to come to the park and stop college kids from harassing and cursing at kids and driving recklessly around town. The kids failed to take over the gym since all 3 of them dropped high cp pokemon in there. My roster was too weak and I was low on potions so I had to call it quits too.
Today I've had some nice luck so far. I caught a 200 cp Eevee that is now a 577 Vaporeon. I also noticed the gym that is actually in a graveyard near where I work is still open. It's close to a YMCA that is a pokestop so I might walk down there this afternoon during my lunch break to lay claim on it. I can't decide wether to toss a gastly in it for fun or an actual high cp pokemon I have
This game makes living on the outskirts of a small town even sadder. It's a 25 minute walk to the nearest Pokestop. My street doesn't even have sidewalks or shoulders so I can't comfortably walk down the road while looking at my phone.
I get Curve Ball for making it spin.Don't you get that for making the ball spin?
Ah okay, that makes sense! You get a Nice, Great or Excellent bonus when you hit the inside of the smaller circle. BUT, the smaller the circle is, the easier it is to catch the Pokemon. Makes no difference but Evolution changes the moveset which means it is worth evolving first simply to make sure the moveset is good before dumping more time into the pokemon.

I want to play but PTC severs are still borked.
No, it's not. It actually makes zero difference when you power up since CP min/max is predetermined when you catch the Pokemon and it's dependant on your Trainer level.Well im pretty sure its cheaper to power them up before they evolve, stardust wise.
45 minute walk for me (and then 45 back!)This game makes living on the outskirts of a small town even sadder. It's a 25 minute walk to the nearest Pokestop. My street doesn't even have sidewalks or shoulders so I can't comfortably walk down the road while looking at my phone.
