What if in the center of the galaxy is another galaxy?
36 quintillion planets?

Do we think the draw distance will be a problem when exploring? Some videos you watch, have plants, and even animals forming before your eyes only around 20 virtual meters in front of you. . .kind of makes it difficult to see something awesome way in the distance and go towards it because you won't actually be able to see things in the distance.
Or is it good because you've to walk around and explore everything and you may stumble in to things you couldn't see at a distance.
Yeah I'm thinking we all spawn in our own galaxy.
Milkyway galaxy = 100x10^9 planets (100 billion)
No Mans Sky = 18x10^18 planets (18 quintillion)
So 180 000 000 Milky Ways in the game (math check?) Definately only meeting people in the middle of the universe... not galaxy
Is this game like a space Minecraft in the sense surviving is the main objective and there is no actual story?
But how many planets do we need to farm in order to gather resources to get to the center to the universe? like a 100?

Entirely first person.
In fact what you actually look like is one of the big mysteries of the game and apparently tied to the games lore, which is why when you discover another player it's supposed to be something "special"
How special that is remains to be seen though.

In another subject, to Legacy Zero or anyone else working on the OT, will there be a moderator presiding over the thread. I just as assumed More_Badass was going to be the one considering his activity in NMS threads.

I could see it opening up some really interesting role playing opportunities at leastSo far, for the most part, it seems to be the case.
Oh, well that guy can not buy it then.Looks to me that was a dig at an indie game costing 60 bucks.

It was always the center of the universe. Sean even made a joke that ppl keep saying galaxy, and then soon its a solar system only, and then just a planet and as the time goes by ppl will be saying is a small house.
Getting to the center of the galaxy multiple times through interviews sounds like really bizarre game design.Nah, he definitely said the goal was to get to the center of the galaxy multiple times, during different interviews.
I am really anticipating the reviews for this game. Any idea when reviews might happen. Since the game is so huge, I wonder how the reviewers finish the game and if there is a shortcut to help them?

Can it please be release day today?
My anticipation for this game died down in the winter. But it's quickly ramping up again. I guess I'll have Abzu to keep me busy next week.
At exactly 14:24 you can see an animal appear quite close. Bushes and stuff also generally appear in footage I've seen. What some videos are you referring to? Because of the nature of the game, that will exist more in this game than most. Some builds were especially bad with it, but I've noticed it was much less extreme in the recent trailers. (Compared to some earlier videos)
I wonder how they can guarantee everyone starts on a random planet. Crazy shit can happen.

If a million people buy the game you have a 1 in 18 trillion chance of starting on the same planet as someone else
Might have a Billion/Trillion/Quadrillion/Quintillion planets on the outer edge.
Even if it were just 100 million it'd still be easily covered.
I'm with you on this but I hope they will be big enough once we actually play the game.
On the opposite side of this, has their been any mention of planetoids (sp?) or super SMALL things in the game?
More pics of "big" stuff:
I am just saying random is random, would be hilarious
So who is ready for all "NO CONTENT" whining that's definitely going to happen within days of this game releasing?

To be honest, I don't give a flying hoot what anyone thinks of this game. Especially once it's in my hands and I can play it myself. And that includes people that love it or hate it. In the end, it just doesn't matter to me.
The people that bitch are going to bitch. The people that gush are going to gush. I'm just ready for the game to be in my PS4 already!
There's a difference between random and procedural, a simple line of "stick people on different galaxies on the outer rim" code will stop it from happening.I am just saying random is random, would be hilarious
Everyone starts on Balari V.
I hope there's a black star to find. My most wanted thing.
1: I don't see a Ps4
2: The controller is connected via wire
Those are my only observations. Take that for what you will.

It doesn't bother me one bit... I'm just wondering if it'll affect looking in the distance for things and making that impossible.

Not even that but even if the game sold millions it'd be hilariously unlikely that more than a few people run into each other. If a million or so humans were randomly dropped on earth and only spent a few hours (at best) there then they'd probably never meet anyway. What makes me laugh about that is it's the size of a planet. I get the impression that people can't quite overcome the mindset that's been drilled into them by more traditional games. When I read comments complaining about Balari V, I think 'Earth again, I'm sick of seeing Earth.
Chances are we'll never see Balari V and there's also a chance it doesn't actually exist in the finished game.
I've never seen that footage and don't know where it came from, so I don't know how long ago it was taken. They've made big improvements to draw distance and LOD pop-in over time.

Really hope I never, ever see that godforsaken Balari V again for the rest of my days!
