Oh my God. "Warmastered." It's so fucking stupid. I love it.

Graphically, though... Uhh, I guess I'll need comparison shots to be able to see the difference. Looks the same to me.

one of my favorite games from the previous Gen, truly a surprise Gem. I still hope for Darksiders 3 so i will gladly buy it

Just put dual protagonist Fury and Strife for Darksiders 3 a la AC Syndicate, and call it a day.

That's actually not a bad idea! Have them play differently to offer players a larger variety on how to solve the dungeons' puzzles -- keeps the game from becoming redundant. Perhaps even incorporate co-op to solve puzzles a la Portal 2 or Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.

Oh nice though I wonder if they'll offer to upgrade for free like for DS2 on PC.

Gonna be interesting how since there was no DLC for DS1 lol

More budget [but still awesome] alternative would be an fast-paced isometric hack&slash loot-based game in the veins of Diablo 3 [but with more story], with all four riders being playable in coop. :)

Everytime I see a thread for this game, my dumb brain goes, "Fuck yeah!! Darkstalkers!!". Then I click said thread, get disappointed.

I like the game and all, have both of them but Capcom isn't putting out and damn that to hell.

So Kaiko is doing the port again, had a feeling they'd be behind this. They also did the Legend of Kay Anniversary remaster.

Darksiders Warmastered Edition:
- PS4, Xbox One, Wii U
- 1080p/60fps on PS4, Xbox One
- 1080p/30fps on Wii U
- £14.99
- October 25, 2016

not sure what the source is, maybe separate press mails?

That's not even a good pun.

It is because the always theme it in accordance with the main character of the game.

got that game on PC but might buy the Wii U version if it's good, just to have both parts on one machine.

Also, could this mean they plan to continue the saga on Nintendo platforms and want to keep in touch with the playerbase?

anyone played the wii u version of legend of kay? how does it run? I remember reading they managed at the last minute to bump the resolution from the 720p originally planned to 900p so as its the same developer that did that port I'm cautiously optimistic of a good job being done here

48 minutes of the Wii U version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8fHuJi5FYs

Framerate seems somewhat choppier than what I remember of the PS2 version, but it has been a long time since I've played it so I could be wrong.

Got it on Wii U yesterday. Just giving it a go. Not had any framerate issues and it looks gorgeous. The characters are really crisp. Camera isn't great but it's far from the worst.

It's a shame more games like this weren't remastered.

An hour into the Wii U version. Had not had any frame dips at all. In fact, I'm surprised the game is as polished as it it. Almost all the dialog is voice acted which is nice as well.

I do own the Wii U game myself but haven't opened it yet.

Thanks, might actually pick up Kay for my little boy looks like a game he'd like, sounds like my cautious optimism is justified then

It's been frequently on sale on the eShop btw.

What is ..mmm....Kaiko ?

Kaiko was a veteran German game dev studio that closed and people went to Factor 5 (Chris Hülsbeck) and whatever and now they reformed (under original founder and lead programmer Peter Thierolf), reopened and are doing these remasters/ports for Nordic. Bonus trivia: their graphics guy from the original group of three is now managing director at Zenimax Germany).

One of my favorite games of previous gen!

Atmosphere, music and gameplay is top notch once you get out of the "boring starting zone".

Also, i had zero problem with motion sickness, like Darksiders 2 gave me.

Oh, not Gunfire doing this remaster? There goes all my hope of Darksiders 2 actually getting the patch that was promised months ago :\

Will probably be $/€20

Which is still a steal, definitely getting this now.

€20 is the price we got first. £15 is quite low. That's probably the retail price for the PC SKU, honestly. Legend of Kay Anniv was €20-25 on console.

Was told by VG_Dave that the PR only mentions Kaiko as the developer, so I guess they are indeed on all versions?

https://twitter.com/VG_Dave/status/758618661494132736

Of course, why wouldn't they be?

Because for example, Kaiko only helped out on the XBO version of DSII, and Blitworks just did the XBO port of MX vs. ATV: Supercross Encore, a game by the revived Rainbow Studious on other systems.

Logo on the box suggested them spearheading this, though.

The release for all platforms is set for October 25th 2016, and it will retail for USD/EUR 19.99, and GBP 14,99, respectively. Darksiders Warmastered Edition is being developed by the experienced developers at KAIKO, who have already been involved with some of Nordic Games’ projects in the past, like the Xbox One Version of Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition and Legend of Kay Anniversary (all platforms).

Finally settling the price back and forth. (from the PR)

20$ US so something like 30$ Canadian.

Still sold.

EDIT: Off, same day as The Last Guardian, though?

I've played the ps3 version I long time ago and the screen tearing was so annoying but I've never finished it.

I don't mind 30fps for this game, so if the performance is good I'm gonna get this on Wii U 'cause it's the only platform which I own DS2 (thanks humble bundle!) so I can have the full package in one console, offscreen gameplay while relaxing in bed is always a nice bonus too.
