RIP in pieces.

Did you literally not read everything I said?

I did read it. You acknowledged that it needs it but also that it's bad management.

Delaying a game because it needs more time is the opposite of bad management. It all depends on what the reason for the delay is. If it's due to something unforeseen that only popped up at the last minute there's no way anyone could've seen that coming. So we have to now see what the rationale for delaying it is.

I've accepted the situation and now I'm just excited that I can boot the new mainline Final Fantasy for the first time with my bundled PS4 Neo, and it will not only be a polished experience but also look glorious.

You think releasing an unpolished game would be better management? If the game needs the extra time it needs the extra time.

The figure thing is weird AF though. Hopefully that's not the sole reason.

Did you notice those "improvements" mirror edge had because of its delays? Yeah, me neither.

The project has been bad management. Unless of course you think a game that has been in development this long, countless delays, then finally a big release date announcement event... followed by another delay is good management fair play to you.

Who thought the (at that time actually pretty amazing) Uncovered Event would turn out to be a complete farce? :/
Can someone repost the .GIF from the Uncovered Event where the November date gets teased before it dials back to September... and REVERSE it?

tfw I said this and people thought I was trolling.

It does some interesting things for the first 20 episodes. The characters are complicated and the anime doesn't always want to explain that, which is something I always like.

Komm, süßer Tod is amazing though.

Didn't play Mirror's Edge, so no I wouldn't have. What about Witcher 3, Uncharted 4, or Persona 5 though? I think I trust the developers that if we don't notice any "improvements" in those, then they did their jobs in delaying them as repeatedly as they did.

Versus XIII was badly managed, absolutely. Last gen was a clusterfuck of bad management at Square Enix and it impacted countless other titles.

XV itself only started in 2012 or so and has seen one delay. The release date spectacle looks bad in hindsight, but really... If the game couldn't make the original date, then forcing it out anyway really wouldn't have been any better. Sticking to the original release announcement only matters in the short term. Rock and a hard place, but sometimes you have to make the best out of a bad situation.

So in that sense, yeah, I think the delay is good management considering the alternative.

Well...this might mean Gravity Rush 2 comes out a day earlier now. At least it should.

Part of me wants this to not be the final delay for this game, but I get the feeling Square's going to push it out this year, whether it's ready or not.

Again, this isn't a bad thing.

True, but I feel like I need to go to Square's offices and hold a boom box outside their windows that's playing "Quit Playing Games with My Heart" for them.

I've been very eager to finally get my hands on this. And my body was ready! My backlog had already accepted defeat...

I will have to wait to take vacation time for the release now...

I never think forcing a game out is the best option, far from it. I'd rather things get delayed to be fixed.

There comes a point though where it is completely acceptable to criticise the way a company has handled a project, expectations and basically reality. Another delay for this game is the king of all pies on Squares face. They should not have held a fucking release date party unless they were 100% locked in stone.

If Sony went and delayed TLG again now I'd be firing them the same tune.

I've accepted that Evangelion is dumb as hell. People look for deeper meaning when it's only just a mess.

It's deeper meaning is shallow, like when Kubo tries to do something, at least Evagelion has good art.

Look at all this religious symbolism, aren't I deep?

Well, after waiting a delightful 8 or 9 odd years for this to actually release, whats an extra 2 months?

Sure looks like it needs it to spruce up the image - it'll probably be paraded around on Playstation Meeting to show that with the extra horsepower it can look closer to what was released at E3 13.

By like a year

Yup. I know this game is a special case because 10 years yadda yadda. But it didn't truly begin development until 2012/2013 right?

People just need to accept the fact that this gen has been plagued with delays. There's a reason there are less games being released this gen. Games cost more money and clearly need more time to cook in the oven before they are ready.

Going forward I truly hope many people do what Sony and MS did this E3. Only give a concrete date to games you are absolutely positive that will release this year. I'm glad they didn't give us anything on GoW, Detroit and Days gone. Just said "in development".
