The International 2016 (Aug 3rd - 13th)

Honestly? I don't know why they don't re-schedule stuff to just give us the finals on the last day, or at least do the second to last round in the morning. I do think its a disadvantage to go into a best of 5 having just played a best of 3 a few hours earlier

Considering DC are coming from the lower bracket, they should just be glad that they don't have to reset the series to win like they'd need to in a true double elimination tournament.

I think the current format is good for the amount of time they have to work with. Having longer breaks or having a day only for GFs isn't really feasible for a live stadium event like this.

Did you know Halo invented the FPS?
Best International in years. God damn the production and level of play was enjoyable to watch. <3 dota

I'm not shitting on them. It's clear as day they played horrible in those last 3 games. How is stating facts shitting on them? That shit with W33 chasing that Axe at the end was a turd cherry on top of a shit sundae. Totally embarrassing play and just the last of many. All kinds of spells missed were missed by all of DC in that series. They didn't look like a TI caliber team.

As for them playing an exhausting series before the GF even started, EG did it last year...

Do we need to go through the thread and quote every post you made that can essentially be summed up as "lol get fucked *insert team here* you're trash and you always will be".

Like you are throwing an incredible amount of shade for no other reason than to feel good about yourself?

Anybody who things EG would have done just as bad as DC in that grand final is actually a fool. DC made so many misplays. You could tell they were tilting from half way thru game 2. Was actually quite embarrassing. EG would have given us a much more competitive final

Dude there is no way you can say this with that level of certainty. Especially after DC literally outplayed EG earlier today, no outdrafting or exploiting broken combos, just purely outplayed. Not too mention Sumail was clearly off his game.

I blame the loss entirely on PPD. The draft was what fucked EG, not the play. I mean Brewmaster? Jesus.

Why all the brew hate? He's so good at neutering the Ursa but Sumail got massively outplayed mid and couldn't come back from that deficit.

Brew vs Ursa is fine, the addition of slark is what ruined the draft imo

Game 3 was also a big outplay. Eg wasn't leading the dance, they were running after DC the whole time

With the exception of Team Secret I usually don't mean it literally. I usually just yell at the teams I want to win because I'm disappointed in them doing shitty things. Have you ever been a fan of a team before?

Obviously I can't say it with certainty, I'm not Nostradamus. I said it earlier, but Sumail landed on some shitty heroes in almost every game EG lost this tournament. So no, he didn't always play great, but PPD wasn't helping him out much. All's I'm saying is I would have preferred to see EG in that final over DC and it all came down to basically a rat/base race in the lower final game 3.

EG won from the lower bracket last year. They got 2-0ed by CDEC in the winners bracket exactly like they did this year. These people play Dota 10 hours a day. They don't get exhausting from a couple of hours of it and if they do, they aren't champion material.

Sure but forcing the hero onto Sumail when it sure as shit isn't one of his commonly played heroes all for the sake Brew>Ursa is stupid. No different then Wings trying to force the god awful Pudge.

Metroidvania

People called Romanes they go the house?
So....

Who's biggest in line for nerfs?

Mirana (aghs, at least)?
SD?, or Illusions in general?
Maaaaaaye Timber a bit more? (not as sure on this one)

Purge done great this TI

At the very least, he did a really admirable job at keeping his composure with all the little things going wrong.

The draft wasn't perfect, but Sumail absolutely under-performed as Brew there. Whether that's the draft loss or not is debatable to some extent, but G3 was winnable.

congrats to wings and dc. wish eg had taken it a second year in a row, but at least juggernaut got an arcana and secret failed miserably. good ti.

In the end, with that, I don't think it's possible to walk away from this TI truly disappointed.

Great TI, Wings were phenomenal but I don't agree with the analysts saying they're like the best team ever. I think they just play so chaotically that they force their opponents into a panic. DC had that game 4 if they just stuck to their game plan but they fell into Wings' trap and melted down.

Of the 4 TI's I've seen, even though there have been far less games played in TI6, and in most cases shorter, this was the best. TI3 finals still not topped though.

I mean do we have any evidence that it was forced on Sumail? Doesn't strike me as something a top tier team would do if Sumail was actively uncomfortable with Brew and expressed that, for all we know he was completely open to it or even encouraging it. It's all hypothetical.

When I see how close those games turn out I don't even value drafts THAT high. Even the Jakiro in game 2 DC vs EG could've turned out totally fine. But when they chase after Medusa and get 4-5 man wiped, that's gonna be a huge setback no matter what.

That game with Brew vs Ursa ended up in a somewhat close ancient kill attempt by EG. What would've happened if Sumail didn't die twice to w33 and got an earlier blink?

Not that drafts aren't incredible important but there were many games this TI where a single key moment decided the game disregarding supposed draft advantages.

I mean, serious question, who? Who would you have drafted instead?

well maybe trying to outcarry am isnt the best idea but at least some more disable. enigma? lion? beastmaster? tide? im not sure what got banned but i assume void was banned but he can do well against am. luna? terrorblade?

the draft was pretty lacking

The issue was Moo's hero pool. Wings kept banning Beastmaster, so they give him timber, which is pretty horrible vs AM if you dont have any lockdown for him. Nightstalker only counters AM until manta, and slark is a stats and magic damage carry, he cant manfight AM.

I agree 100%, Moo needed a bigger hero pool.

For Season 6 (if you can call it that) the thing you needed was a versatile Offlaner and Moo just didn't have that.

zzzzzzzzz time for reactionary gross nerfs (remember leshrac and troll?) and stupid roster drama

ti6 crowd proved dota community sucks quite a lot and why this will never be considered a real sport

Moblin, through all six TIs, consistently negative. A pillar of the doter community.

Yeah, you never see people walk up to a camera in a soccer match and say stuff like "fuck her in the pussy"

Not that I'm disagreeing about the crowd, but acting as if normal sports crowd are beacons of virtue is delusional

Just look at the first 4 picks, nothing that dealt with AM without stupidly good arrows from Mirana.

Magic Missle as the only reliable stun vs AM? Hence the panel talking about the AM pick and it did come.

Mirana and SD in line for bans too, though Mirana isn't leaving the Meta any time soon. She was a decent offlane even before the Agh's buff.

Disruption illusions will have their damage cut in half and Mirana Agh's will be changed to 12 or 16s.

Can I mention how crazy it is that Alliance has been able to be stable all these years?

Even if they suck?

They did spend an entire year switching players around before S4 and I think EGM came back after S4 was in Secret.

i really really hope wings don't have any roster changes, but i'm quite sure it's going to happen
the big sponsored teams definitely will try and poach them with big contract money

i feel like this game's mvp is ET compared to AM
