So many relevant reprints.

Very nice reprints, especially in the rare slot too, which means that every box is bound to have some good stuff.

same with berserk and show and tell

They are more iconic but I wouldn't call them better, especially in the modern frame. That said M11 Buy a Box remains the best art imo.

Oh, bitch bitch bitch.
Are there any other spirits worth considering in the Bant Spirits deck than the ones in Caleb's list?

Show and Tell was basically a bulk rare before Emrakul and Griselbrand got printed, so I wouldn't call it iconic. I think the original Show and Tell art is much more clever. I like when artists don't go the obvious route of drawing/painting what the card actually does (namely putting your biggest fatty into play.) The art style gives it a fresher look than generic fantasy art as well.

Berserk on the other hand is just pure wankery. The original art perfectly encapsulates a desperate man going kamikaze, which is what the card does. The new version has an elf mutating/transforming into a wolf, which is seemingly self-inflicted by the look of the giant wand sticking at the back. Then dies for no reason. It'd be an acceptable submission for Giant Growth effects, not Berserk.

It kills me that there's no way to ever use conspiracy-type cards in constructed decks. I wish they would make some optional rules for casual formats or something.

I still think the art style is less fitting for a Magic card, although I can agree that the depiction is more accurate. But maybe that's just me, because I'm slightly younger than the players that grew up with those cards.

Why does berserk have the cast clause?

So you don't cast it on your opponents creatures after combat.

Man the reprints in this set are great. Berserk and Show & Tell are fantastic to see, especially Berserk since I've gone back and forth on buying those for years. Also that white Imperial Recruiter, goddamn that's good. Definitely looking forward to picking up some sets of cards from this.

Angry Grimace

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"
The plot of Conspiracy 2 is Adriana trying to recruit Selvala, why would you assume Selvala wouldn't have a card

Chalk me up as another person surprised that they never printed a flash/instant clone until now that didn't have other effects (and even then, apparently none could get all creatures instead of just yours until now).

Latest Developments mentions that there were originally conspiracies that gave you secret missions, but it made it so that players were less concerned about the politics than their own cards, and they already do "quest" cards in normal Magic. Though the tipping point for Sam Stoddard was when a conspiracy told him to kill the player to his left and he exclusively targeted Dave Marsee, an unassuming guy who says, "Gosh," and he felt bad about that.

For those who weren't aware / forgot / assumed it already happened and we just didn't notice, the full card spoiler won't be up yet because select stores are going to do special drafts of Conspiracy 2 with exclusive preview cards (probably where that Show and Tell came from). I wonder if they're experimenting with this to see if they can apply it to Standard sets. Something that people often complain about is that they miss the old days when you could go to a prerelease and no one would actually know what any of the cards were. This seems like it may be Wizards' attempt at a compromise, with exclusive events where most of the cards aren't known.

I would love to have it where there is no preview season and you just show up and figure out what the hell is going on during prerelease. Or better yet show the art and the CMC but keep the text box blank.

Would anything fun happen if you cast this in response to emrakul ?

If you do it "in response" you can't even copy Emrakul, because she's still on the stack. There's no way to get the cast trigger with a Clone effect so Emrakul isn't really the best thing to copy ever. Though I suppose 15/15 Annihilator Six on their end step is pretty good. (And yes you can copy Emrakul, The Aeon's Torn. This doesn't target so the Protection doesn't do anything.)

Stuff with good enter the battlefield effects is the best to hit with this.

It might be a fun one time gimmick but not knowing anything about a set won't get the majority of people excited to spend money on a set.

It makes me want to build a multiplayer draft cube cause those draft-matter cards seem a lot of fun. Shame they do nothing when you play sealed.

Boy I hope I get this promotion. I want to draft a crap load of Conspiracy. The value is so high!

Side note: I put that I was an avid MtG player/collector on my resume and even mentioned it in my phone interview just now, and they didn't seem to mind it at all haha. Got a face to face interview for next week now!

So is there anywhere to you know, watch the conspiracy drafts that are happening at select stores this weekend ? It would make absolute zero sense to have players at random stores be the only ones able to draft the set and only able to "leak" things out through cell phones.

Also new Selvala, in what seem's to be a theme of Conspiracy is Absolutely amazing for my newest EDH love, Xenagos. I just really hate that she's mono green though. I'm not a huge fan of Mono colored generals in EDH.

Might even buy a box.

Oh, bitch bitch bitch.
So many people in the Bant Spirits video wondering why the War Monk is in there when its clearly for Burn/Aggro and then suggesting Geist would be a good replacement. Bant Spirits is not a good deck for Geist.

Well those people can just stay off the spoiler sites. Why should I be punished because some people don't know how to use the internet? This is like peak spoiler culture.

I will also add it makes it harder to sell a set and some people actually like strategically planning for pre-releases.

Oh man I love this

I want to build a cube now

What you didn't already? Shame on you :p

I wonder how many of these cards will show up in the official Cube product.
Wondering that, will keep me from grabbing them as singles for now.

I'd love it if WotC released their legacy or whatever cube gold - bordered for 100 quid or so. I'd buy it and treat it as a board game.
