In one match it was 100-35 in Pilots vs Pilots...I'm on the winning team and I only died twice with 14 kills...how can there be such a blowout on this game???=O

Had to adjust to using a PS4 controller, but the game plays really well.

Titanfall 2: BoomTown - Bounty Hunt Gameplay (Direct-Feed PS4 Footage) Fought a few members of GAF in this match. Have another video uploading. The quality should improve soon to 1080p/60fps.

Edit: Video 2 - Titanfall 2: Homestead - Bounty Hunt Gameplay (Direct-Feed PS4 Footage)

That first vid is great. I watched a couple of streams during the test and it seemed way too frantic, but this gameplay shows that the pace can be more sensible. Makes me very excited for the game :)

I'll be sure to check out the second vid. Thanks for sharing!

Sometimes bad players get grouped together, but having a lag free match is always much more important.

well thank you for showing us that wall running was still possible.

But maybe we were all already aware that it was there and have been discussing the actual changes to it and the rest of the mechanics.

Such an arrogant comment. Wall running functions the exact same. Now if you want to talk about how the maps are different, that's a whole different story. Your argument that wall running is different in this game is simply incorrect.

That's the best part: he actually thinks it's fast.

It's fast. Not as fast as TF1, but still fast.

Fundamentally, Titan's shouldn't be a reward - every player is entitled to have a Titan. They are a fundamental part of gameplay experience. I would like to see this addressed before release.

Wallhang as a perk is dumb, but I like what they've done with levelling up with it not being XP points like every other shooter.
it's not dumb, it's there for people to use if they want it. it's mainly used in hardpoint anyways.

This game is so much easier than the first and people still suck at it.
haha i know. it's mind bogglign especially from people that say "omg it's so easy compared to the first" and yet they completely suck at it

because despite it being easier than the first game the skill ceiling can still be very high.

i'll go 40+ in pilot vs pilot and the next closest guy is 20 kills behind.

this game is so...boring compared to TF1. i remember playing the beta for the first game and thinking it was the second coming of COD4, but the full game just didn't have enough content. it was right there though.

what a bummer

edit: though to say something positive, it does at least look way better than the first game

Just had a game of bounty hunt where we were down a person and had two AFK guys in it.... It was no fun.

Just hoping that I'll get a Titan that emulates Stryder with the 40 mm cannon and dash core, but I won't hold my breath.

After playing a few more games today i just noticed one thing, wheres the music? I know im not crazy but i remember the original game had music.

Just watch this:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XqNvxq13JQs

And compare to TF2. The flow is gone.

/waves to didact, hi didact!

and yeah, this video is a perfect example of the amazing gameplay loop R1 created.

and this video, from GC 2016, explains why Respawn lost their way:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyryweXyBxA

- AI are annoying and don't have a purpose? [what?]
- rodeos are annoying? [WHAT? so many ways to deal with these]
- everybody doesn't just GET a titan? [WHAT WHAT WHAT?]

seems like they literally just listened to the biggest whiners / complainers on reddit and neglected to consider whether any of those people actually played the game for more than a few hours...

Even if compared to Titanfall 1 the game feels cutback in some ways, I still think this plays moment to moment way better than something like BO3. I played some of that yesterday after a session of TF2 and just everything felt way worse (Wall running especially)

I think Respawn will deliver and at least fix some of the complaints before launch, but I wouldn't be surprised if along down the line we get a decent post launch update to "fix" more stuff.

Uhh... this looks a heck lot slower than it would be in Titanfall 1... =( I wish I kept my clips.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GACaYPLqfiQ

I only have this... 4 minute clip I guess. Starts with Titan gameplay on the shittest map of Titanfall 1

edit: I am going to miss how I used to damage Titans just to contribute to building my own

dude, chill. I think the gunplay in Titanfall 2 is better, and now this new stim makes the old stim look boring as shit.

they'll make the necessary changes, people need to calm down. The game is still fun as hell, and addicting to play even with it's faults. once the changes are made this is gonna be ace.

Putting my thoughts here. I was Broken Scholar for anyone on Xbone

Game is fun but simply has a lot of downgrades from the first one but a lot of it can be fixed. I do hope map design encourages more movement too. Might not preorder.

All I said was how TF2 is slower, and that building has changed. I said nothing about gunplay. I don't need to chill, I need to cry.

Trying to have an actually discussion with you people is a chore, seriously. I would like to see some evidence as to prove that wall running, as a mechanic, has changed.

um, we've posted like eighty billion videos, clearly showing how much less clunky, slow, and generally nerfed parkour is.

your choice if you decide to ignore all of them i s'pose?

No, all of those videos show that the general player movement speed is slower (something easily fixable by Respawn) and that the maps are more built around the grapple than wall running.

None of those videos show that wall running is clunky or "nerfed".

I have had an absolute blast with this beta/tech test/whatever it was. The game feels fantastic and, from what I've gotten out of this, is exactly the "More Titanfall" game that I was hoping it would be... That said, the moment I switched to any character other than one with a grappling hook, I immediately felt like something was missing...

I haven't seen a sequel screw up like this since SSBM to Brawl. Nothing worse than developers fixing things that aren't broken to appease casuals.

HStallion

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
Played a couple games and I had a pretty good time. I did play the original a bit with my friends but never got into it. Not sure entirely what's different since its been a long time but I had a good time. Combine that with a single player and I'm a lot more interested. I'm almost wish for some larger scale combat scenarios like 24 v 24 but that's probably asking too much for the game design and the team. Still had a lot of fun. Might try and get a few last minute matches in before they close down for the weekend

Maps being built without wall running and parkour means player movement IS gimped

Oh come on, what's the point in this derogatory, elitist nonsense ?
I'm not saying you're wrong to dislike the changes, I'm saying you're wrong to suggest they were universally motivated by an intent to appease to a more casual audience.

While some of the changes here can be argued to make the game more accessible, many others (absent pilot timers, reduces emphasis on modes where you can simply kill bots to win) arguably make the game less accessible or easy to play.

Many of the changes just seem to be a response to common feedback in the original game While a lot of people loved what it was, for what it was, a lot of people that skipped over it did so for reasons such as the presence of bots.

If anything, the issues appear to be more a case of wanting to make the game appealing to those that didn't like the original, and subsequently alienating the group of players that genuinely loved TF1 for what it was. It's like if Hires released a new Tribes game with no fast-paced movement, it wouldn't matter how good that resulting product was, it would be despised for not being a better version of its predecessor. It wouldn't mean that the new game was 'casual' though, to say that would just come across as a cheap dig at people that liked the new game.

Man this is so disappointing. Titan fall is one of my favorite multi-player shooters and this is its follow up? Maps aren't designed around traversal, maps are weak and the titans aren't threatening. Maybe they fix it before launch.

You could argue that a players options are more restricted in certain areas of the map in this game, but you could also argue that more variable presentations of the distinct options a player has across maps segments affords more diverse gameplay experiences as you traverse from one section of the map, to another.

While TF1 allowed for continual wall jumping and aerial traversal, the new map design forces players to 'make do' with what they have in different scenarios. I don't resent that personally.

Welp Alpha's broken. Can't connect to friends, network functions dead.

game is broke. been trying for the last hour to play w/ a friend. party function is fucked.

loved titanfall 1. dunno about this one..

Welp Alpha's broken. Can't connect to friends, network functions dead.

Hence the pre-alpha technical test.

I was able to connect with friends personally. I warned my friend that it was unlikely to work, because a lot of people have been having issues, but it worked fine. The only problem we had is that sometimes it did not load the invitation window, and once a match had ended it would always disband the party.

In order to work around these issues we mashed X on the invitation button until it worked, and reformed the party after each match. Not ideal, but a functional work around. With that said, when I tried to play later I could not connect to my fiance in one of our sessions, though I had played with her previously.

You're right, some of this stuff has nothing to do with casuals and are just inexplicably bad design choices like 3rd person titan entering, removing recharging shields, and poor map design.

It's just nothing but a come from behind spawn fest. The actual Titan modes might be better but 8 on 8 from what I've played is Cod trash

ok, but that's the map design that is shit for that game mode and the spawns are shit from being an old build. Lets not get carried away with things that are easily fixed.

the gunplay is still stellar, and the game is fun. these adjustments can be made easily and they will be made.

Yeah I mean I can't really speak on the matter since I didn't play more than 30 minutes of the original game but I don't think that casuals are to blame for peoples displeasure and it's derogatory for people that like the game new game.

Fair enough if you don't like much of the games direction. I like it, but I didn't play much of TF1. It's possible I might be disappointed with a different frame of reference by which to judge the experience by.

This has probably been answered a million times so I apologize in advance, but what time does this end? I have been away on business and just got home so I was unable to keep up at all with this thread.

Thanks in advance.

I'm really not sure everything's just an easy fix. They pretty much made a different game.

For those that love the game respawn made here, great. I just didn't find it that fun. But hey, I'm definitely going to give a PC demo a go. Could clear up some issues.

some of the complaints are actually funny though. for the longest time attrition was considered shit, and that's why the game was "boring" because all you did was farm bots. now the game is shit because you can't farm bots and there's no attrition (at least not in the demo) . people don't know what they want and that's why they gotta give a bit of everything these days. finding that balance is hard but i think this game can achieve that.

the true test of how this game will play out is when we get to play CTF on a parkour heavy map (if those exist)

I agree the guns feel great. That's what I meant overall, the maps just such and the spawning really isn't helping. I think the titans feel great, but the pilot tdms are turning me off a bit

I actually wasn't a huge fan of Attrition in TF. I thought Hardpoint, CTF, and LTS were faaaar better modes. I hate to say it, but Amped hardpoint was terrible in this demo, but we'll just have to see how CTF and LTS fare.
