PC titanfall 1 population? Any possibility it is worth reinstalling?
That must explain why MW2 got remastered in conjunction with MW right?
I thought Bornstellar said it had 1k people online a few pages back?Only around 500 people playing on PC, all modes are completely dead except for Attrition, Campaign, and Frontier Defense.
I made a mistake and went to play Titanfall over the tech test. God dammit, I think I'm gonna cancel my vanguard preorder.
Spyglass is giving me constant updates about my Titan, Blisk is commending me on my Titan kills, there's grunts saying how badass I am, the movement isn't as heavy, Titans have speed and boosts are a faster and stronger, Titan shields, I can actually customize my Titan how I want, the R101C handles a lot better than the newer version, wall hanging isn't a perk, stim actually feels like stim, I'm actually a pilot instead of a spectre, Titan v pilot combat is a lot more fun, the Sidewinder, maps feel alive, the UI is clean and doesn't feel cramped, and no glow around enemy pilots.
EDIT: OH and first person embarks and executions. Nothing like having an enemy Titan rip me out of my cockpit and throw me across the map in first person.
The only thing I missed that I kept trying to do from the tech tests was slide.
Let's go over some of the stuff Respawn got right so far
- Gunplay is still very fun
- Relegating wallhang to a perk is a godsend
- Stim is fun despite replenishing too slowly
- New carbine is still juicy
- They nailed the slide mechanic
- Music seems like it's going to be as amazing as ever
- Graphics are cleaner than the original and seem to perform well
- Networks is a great idea, and once working properly will be wonderful. i see other games copying it
- Pilot v Pilot mode is actually decent, unlike it was in the original game
- Grapple is fun after you get the hang of it
- They made holo pilot useful and fun to use unlike what Bungie did in Reach
Anything else?

While I won't cancel my preorder, everythings you said is 100 percent truth
That being said, this IS just a tech test. Not an alpha, beta or demo.
They could (and I sincerely hope they do) add a lot as far as presentation is concerned
Hah- I have Ryoko on my Stryder with auto quad rockets. I don't really know what she says, but it was such a cool thing when they added those voices to te black market.Constant voice updates, my stryder titan os speaking to me in japanese, clambering up to it in first person, poking enemy position relatively safely because I have shields and multiple effective dashes. Moving across the map like an actual specialized warrior and not a bright glowing dot. So good

I definitely agree with the Grappling hook but can I ask why you think making Wallhanging a perk is a good idea?Let's go over some of the stuff Respawn got right so far

Not sure. In hindsight it may have been better, but when MW2 dropped it was a LOT of fun using the new kill-streaks and gaining rank. Plus, most of the maps were a decent evolution over MW. IW at the time hit the nail on the head in producing a sequel that managed to elevate an already popular formula i.e. progression and RPG-lite elements, in a shooter, and make it even more huge. They knew what made MW so popular and simply expanded on it because back then, it was still fresh. I think their problem with TF2 is they already hit the nail on the head with TF and the rest of their back-catalogue and are now shit out of ideas.
Agreed about solo however.
I definitely agree with the Grappling hook but can I ask why you think making Wallhanging a perk is a good idea?
It's something a lot of people wanted removed or mapped to a different button since the launch of the first game. It makes jumping and ADsing in smaller quarters and off walls and buildings easier. You don't all of a sudden get stuck in a stupid wallhang.

I'm downloading this now.
Is this as good as the 1st one or better?
Nah even at the time I ended up trading MW2 a few weeks after getting it. It is up there as one of my biggest crushing gaming disappointments sequel wise, I even queued up at midnight for that fucker for a big expensive special edition. Didn't like many of the maps, didn't like the killstreaks, didn't enjoy the franticness of it compared to COD4 and it added too much for its own good.
Of course it's all well and done now, but this wasn't in hindsight, this was at the actual time it came out and I know I wasn't the only one to feel that way. However of course a lot of folks felt differently and that's fine, but yeah...it wasn't for me.

It was just a nice little flourish that adds a lot to the experience, this was MY titan. You could wrap your own narrative around it.
Wallhang as a perk is dumb, but I like what they've done with levelling up with it not being XP points like every other shooter.Let's go over some of the stuff Respawn got right so far

Dang, well, I hope I enjoy my time with this, but some of this is odd.A lot of people who played TF1 are saying that TF2 isn't better due to some of the questionable changes that Respawn implemented - Titan timer, no Attrition (so far), lack of AI, and maps that aren't designed very well with the traversing system.

Hmm, I guess if you wanted that though I don't see how these maps benefit that. I don't like it but at least there was a thought for doing it.Lets you ADS while moving on walls if you want.
Seems to depend on how you felt about the first game for a number of people. I personally am not liking it and I adored the first game.I'm downloading this now.
Is this as good as the 1st one or better?
This game is so much easier than the first and people still suck at it.

Looking at the 3rd map, I cant make heads or tails of it. certainly seems better than the 2 we have. But the titan and pilot areas seem separated
Doesn't that make the online concurrent number of 20k even worse if it sold twice as much as Titanfall? By sheer numbers, it means way more people quit Battlefront before Titanfall.
Man I hate homestead. Kill a guy in the open, frantically try to pick up his battery and run, knowing full well I'm going to get shot in the back. I do.
There's not enough speed or meaningful maneuverability.

You're gonna have your peg feet, and you're gonna love themI wish we could decide if out character is a robot or human. I know that they want the technicals to decide the appareance but I'd rather be a human character. It's a lot cooler to me if it's humans pulling off these moves than a robot. Keep the helmet and the clothing the same between the two to make it recognizable.
I didn't like MW2 much either. I thought the maps, in particular, were really bad coming off of CoD4's amazing lineup, and the overload of super powerful killstreaks were not fun. Then you factor in the weapon glitches early on.....yuck. Dropped it by January 2010 when Bayonetta and Mass Effect 2 came out, and never looked back. Such a disappointment after I put like 500 hours into CoD4.
It crushed me that mw2 was so liked. What a disastrous departure. Community didnt do what we're doing with tf2 either
Its also clear a LOT of new fans came in with mw2. Im surprised how many never played cod4. Must be ironic to read that if you were a cod2 player haha
But really, cod4 had excellent sound design, and fanfuckingtastic map design
MW2 weapons, ttk, balance, map design was shit
S&d used to be so good but became a giant game of marathon/lightweight users beaming around the map. Cod4 map design and sound design and balance never allowed that
I hate what cod has become. It sucks because I miss cod4 gameplay but everyone play cod for the speed, low ttk, and awful as fuck map design and spawns.
It's funny how respawn/IW shit the bed with such baffling departures from a solid base
So this video gives us some answers.

Reading between the lines it near confirms what many have thought, although nothing is explicitly said.
The lack of AI/Bounty replacing attrition: "we listened to the community about reducing the annoyance factor of the AI, try and make them have a real purpose"
There were vocal people who either didn't play the original or gave up after some time. Those that did continue to play saw the AI did have a purpose. They were a resource to reduce Titan build time.
No Titan cool down: "You have to earn a Titan this time, not just given one"
They elaborate a little on this later, but surely you earned your Titan in the original Titanfall by farming the resource (the AI) that served 'no purpose'? Alongside other objectives of course.
So the AI and cooldown go hand in hand.
If Respawn removed the AI first, then removal of the countdown makes sense. Without the' easy' resource to reduce build time, then players could sit tight and wait out for their Titan. The countdown had to go.
If Respawn removed the Cooldown first, then the AI still would make some sense. Kills would still up your Titan meter.
The question is, which came first. The removal of AI or the Titan cool down? I think it has to be the removal of AI.
Which then becomes - why?
The message is the feedback from the 'community', but something doesn't sit right with me on that. Especially when the 'community' that continued to play the game pretty much ignored any modes without AI.
The 'community' has now, overwhelmingly, rejected the change. Reddit, GAF, Twitter, even their own forums. Did Respawn get this so wrong?
Respawn didn't make this change for a laugh. Either it is something they truly believe is right, or there is something else.
I just feel a part of the puzzle is missing.

played some more, still not a fan of the changes but eh. I like the orange grass map much better than the other map. but they're both too open and then too crowded imo
feels good to be doing well on the score boards again though. titanfall 1 was my shit.
i do have a strong feeling this is gunna get delayed tho.
- The AI seems more competent and actually seem to do damage to players.
- Those mini titans (reapers) are really fun to fight.
- NETWORKS are an amazing idea.
