Deus Ex: Mankind Divided PC performance thread

So far the benchmark is not very indicative of in game performance for me.

averaging around 45-50 FPS at 4K Very High on a Pascal Titan, the benchmark only had me at 37. Maybe it gets more demanding later on, but so far I'm happy with the performance.

feature may as well not exist tbh, it would be about as useful

Mouse movement is really bumming me out.

Hope they can fix it quick now that they have all the teams ready.

... but yeah, probably not gonna happen. I'll try to refund.

On my 390x and i7 2700k its a wash out. I usually play at 1440p but that was at 30fps everything on low. I then tried 1080p on low and it was hovering at 40-60 fps.

Game is essentially unplayable at this point.

Also if people are crashing on start up with AMD, try turning off PlaysTV, that fixed it for me.

I'm just running on high settings and it's eating my 980ti alive. Can't even get 60 fps.

I have no idea how that is even possible when I have a worse card and have a mix of very high and ultra presets above 60fps the whole way through (no MSAA, contact hardening shadows. Vol lights set to on), except in the benchmark where I'm around 52fps minimum, average 66fps.

Is your processor incredibly old

Looks like there's no registry setting to modify mouse acceleration. The Player_Aim_1 and Player_Aim_2 just store the iron sights keybinding.

Yup, darn. At 800 dpi/1000 Hz (DeathAdder Chroma) and 6% in-game sensitivity, it's passable (I've experienced far worse), but it definitely doesn't feel 1:1.

This game at Ultra uses a lot of VRAM, pretty much constant 7+ GB. My 1080 handles it but god damn it's the most I've personally had used in a game.

Strange.. i got a 2500k@4.3 and a R9 290 @ 290X speeds. The res is 1920*1200 and i get about 40 to 60 fps in the starting area with all on very high, 2x msaa.. Maybe update your drivers or OC that cpu :)

Anyone figure out how to skip those annoying ass dozen company logos when you launch the game?

Where is the ini file and save games anyway? Can't find them in documents (only log file) or appdata (empty folder).

*Deleting files in the game folder does not appear to be an option, because good luck making sense of the file names there ...

Maybe it's just because I'm a quality freak (quite possible), but is anyone else really annoyed by the lack of a custom mouse cursor? Seeing the default Windows cursor everywhere just makes the experience feel so cheap to me. It's like playing a mobile game on PC.

Pretty sure it's your CPU that's responsible for terrible performance.

Drivers are latest and my CPU is overclocked to 4.2Ghz.

Typical...

Considering a person above me with a PC slightly 'worse' than mine is doing better I would say that isn't the case.

Also I don't think it's the 2700k's fault if it can't run this game well at 1080p on the lowest possible settings, something is up there.

Ran like shit when I booted it up so I disabled MSAA which fixed it and downsampled instead to get rid of the jaggies, much better.

At first I thought the game was broken because of that. Doesn't really matter in the end to me as most of the time you won't be looking at it anyway.

ugh wat
Artifacts only occur if I look at the lights

Also I think there is geometry missing
Yeah there definitely is, I just fell through the ground in the tutorial mission following this point. jfc

Went back to main menu, reloaded last savepoint and now everything turns to black smear when I turn the camera. My GPU was working fine this afternoon so I guess it's the game <_<

It would be great if people put spoilers in tags. Trying to see what settings to use and the. I see story elements. Wtf.

Are artifacts generally caused by a GPU (drivers/hardware) issue?

Isn't that the point of the spoiler page, so why are they posting them here?

Key things for me seemed to be lowering volumetric lighting to on from ultra, turning off msaa and turning off hard shadows. Everything else i seem to be able to max out. I have textures on very high instead of ultra since there seems to be no visual difference there.

Benchmark gives me avg fps of 55 with that but in-game so far im always at 60.

I think the port is actually pretty good since the game looks great and has a lot of settings to tweak. =.

sweet thanks

hyperthreading on? i have a 2600K with HT on and game runs great for me, i have a gtx1070 though, but i doubt its the cpu thats giving issues

Had a crash just as the
bomb went of in the train station
at the start. Very irritating because it meant I had to do the
helicopter
bit again, watch the cutscene again while prague loaded(it uses the cutscene to mask a loading screen) and then sit through the dialogue with Alex again. :|

Edit: Seems like it's a common spot. I fortunately managed to get through it the second time, but still sucks.

I get the crash too, tried turning subs on and off, it just crashes.

I'm done buying pc games in advance, this was the final straw. The end.

Runs fine on very high, with those tanking settings turned down on my 2500K@4,5+970+8Gb RAM, game ready driver.
Luckily the benchmark seems to lie :)
But weirdly I'm getting some anomalies, like missing textures, or some objects floating mid air on the Dubai map.
But I'll start it brand new, with these final settings.

4GB RX470 here - I'm getting mostly 60fps with a mixture of High and Very High. No Ultra settings, TAA (no MSAA), and all of the setting with "On" and "Ultra" choices just set to On. Looks fairly nice. Not incredible, but good.

I get weird performance dips around certain alpha effects - the Icarus dive and some of the whips of sand/debris in the first mission really did a number on my framerate for some reason.

Anybody have the setting to get 60 fps at 1440p ( using old titan x ).
ALso, can you recommend me a program to show my fps ?

Freesync appears to shutoff when I hit around 60fps. However the range of my monitor is 30-144hz. It's pretty jarring when it switches off. Not sure whats going on there. I have exclusive fullscreen turned on as well.

And this is why you wait for these things to have a larger sample size to out weigh the crazy people

Stuff like that annoys me especially when it's for a franchise I cherish, they don't recommend it because of an optional element?? Who cares if it's a great game, purely because it's got optional micro-transactions it should be given a bad review?!

Nvidia Ansel?

Not sure but I dont think the game support it.

I was under the impression Shadowplay would take great screenshots, but it might just be me but none of the screenshots look as good as the game does. Its stunning in-game but the screenshots turn out like

and

respectively which is a shame. None the less I will enjoy my so far smooth gameplay on Ultra :)

GeForce Experience have FPS counter in Shadowplay. Enable it in options under overlay :)

It's more efficient to downsample from 2400x1350 to 1080p than playing at 1080p and 2xMSAA.

You can use the build in Steam FPS overlay, fraps, shadowplay, Riva Tuner (+msi afterburner).
