I recently see the new document with psvr

it shows a new camera picture looks differen from the normal one

maybe new camera will introduce at the meeting. i dont know really

you see here i post neo first. so i have the access to some document
but i do not know about the camera. I only see a picture that look like a new one. sorry if it is wrong.

The current internal code name is "Neo".

I hope the Neo will look something like this.

Nope, that just looks like a really tough tea tray using the Titan Shield from Deus Ex.

I like how you always link to that post like its proof you're an insider lol

I believe you

I don't think that PS4 Neo will have the same design as the PS4 Slim for one simple reason - why would Sony want them to look the same? You want them to look different from one another. I think (and hope) that Neo is the same the as the base PS4.

It's amazing that people just skipped right over Neo post lol

Does the camera look bigger or have a 3rd eye or anything?

[0060] In the technique 200b depicted in FIG. 2B, the vertex shader 210 may perform vertex shader computations 214, which may include manipulating various parameters of each vertices in the image. The resulting parameters may be compressed at 240 into a smaller data format so that bottlenecks associated with storage and throughput of large numbers may be minimized. The compressed parameters P0', P1', P2' may be written to a parameter cache 236 for temporary storage, and may occupy a smaller amount of the total cache than uncompressed parameters to thereby minimize potential bottlenecks in the cache hardware. The compressed parameters P0', P1', P2' may be copied to a local memory unit 237 on a GPU, which may be memory unit known as a "local data share" (LDS). The compressed parameter values may be accessed from the local data share with a pixel shader 212 implemented by a GPU.
Well, yes, that's actually what I'm trying to explain to you. Here, try reading it like this:

[0061] The compressed parameter values P0', P1', P2' may be decompressed at 242 by the pixel shader 212, thereby granting access to the raw parameter values P0, P1, P2 by the pixel shader. The pixel shader 212 may then interpolate the parameter values at 216 using coordinates i,j obtained from the barycentric coordinate generator 238 in order to determine corresponding parameter values at the pixel locations within each primitive. Because the pixel shader 212 has access to the raw parameter values for each vertex of each triangle, the pixel shader 216 may also perform certain other manipulations of the vertex parameters (not pictured) and the visuals of the vertices in virtual space on a per-pixel basis before interpolation 216 to translate the values to screen space. The pixel shader may then perform pixel shader computations 218 to further manipulation of the pixel data and the visuals of the pixels before outputting the final pixel data, e.g., to a frame buffer.
Now see here, where after compression by the vertex shader, the data is then decompressed by the pixel shader. (Yes, that part is important.)
Screenshot%202016-08-28%2018.12.30.png

See how the pixel shader needs to decompress the parameters at 242 before it's able to work with them at all? It's not working with FP32 values that have been magically transformed in to FP16 values. Instead, it's taking data that's been zipped by the vertex shader and unzipping it for its own use; it's not able to work with the compressed data directly.

Also notice that compressing the data also bypasses the GPU's interpolation hardware shown here in the "traditional" method…
Screenshot%202016-08-28%2018.15.10.png

… so after performing the additional step of decompressing the values it's just loaded, the pixel shader must also perform its own interpolation at 216.

So rather than granting the GPU a blanket ability to perform work in half the normal time, we've instead bestowed extra work upon the shaders in hopes of boosting overall throughput just a bit by making more efficient use of the necessarily limited caches. Storage efficiency is increased, but execution efficiency is actually decreased. (The hope is having more data compressed in to the caches will reduce the number of misses, and the increased hits will outweigh all of the additional computation being done by the shaders to be able to work with the compressed data in the first place.)

It won't look totally different.
The new PS4 going forward is the Slim.
It makes sense for Neo to look like a bigger premium version of that. They don't want it to look like a different console.
I think the base will be the new slim design but of course expect more high quality materials with glossy parts, more fancy LEDs and...logos :p

Btw in summer time flies, the event is around the corner, barely over a week to go.

Spent like 45 minutes modeling something, only for the program to crash and no auto-save copy, meaning I'd have to rebuild at least 30 minutes of it (from last manual save).

So instead, here is my lazy Photoshop mockup based on a simpler idea:

(power / eject would be similar to placement on Slim)

Very nice. The led symbol is very classy too. I like it!

I love it

The light up PS logo is awesome.

Looking forward to that blue LED actually being white when powered on.

Yeah, that looks pretty shitty. Hope it is no where near that.

Make the led, the ps1 logo colors and add the silver color of the original ps1, plz!

By all current "insider" accounts, the PS4 Neo is supposed to look like the PS4 Slim, only thicker. So, that was my inspiration and was modelling the PS4 Slim with slightly increased proportions and the intent of the PS logo being LED backlit. Unfortunately, AE crashed so I made this mockup instead. TMYK.

I would do that for you, but not at home anymore. Currently off to a friends' to watch some F1 and maybe mess around in some VR stuff.

No worries man, when and if you have the spare time.

Another all black shell would be a little disappointing. Got a feeling they won't go with that, especially to distinguish itself from Slim. Gimme some vintage amp style with wood and brushed aluminum.

I hope they go back to the original grey actually. And give it a rainbow PS symbol like on the PS2 that can be rotated depending on if the system is horizontal or vertical.

That was like booting up MGS2 for the first time. We got swerved on that light colour.
Seriously hated that. Why couldn't the bootup light be white and the steady color be blue. Especially when you're showing advertising with the led being blue. Not to mention that's exactly the pattern the player 1 ds4 follows, flashing white while trying to establish connection, solid blue once connected and signed in.

Brushed aluminum and a glossy silver logo pls

Everyone is all concerned about the cosmetics ( I am too) and im wondering where to get a good 4k UHD Gaming Monitor to be ready to take full advantage of the new tech.

That's actually a nice design. I like the logo a LOT. Plus the double edge design in the rear. That's a sleek looking fucker right there
