Kinda feel like I shouldn't have bought my PS4 at launch, but obviously I didn't know Sony were going to release an upgrade.

Paying twice for the leap in fidelity I expected from the start feels meeeeeeeeeh.

You think more of the market that doesn't own a PS4 are going to buy the Pro over the Slim?

Cause I don't see that happening at all

I don't see a compelling reason to get this if I don't have a 4k tv to really take full advantage. I just looked at 4k tv prices...not cheap.

Not yet, they did say they will post them but they didn't say where so it might be there own video service.

I'd love to watch them on my 4K tv.

People wanted 5.5tf 4K60 for every game ever released and for it to cost £90.

When this leaked people didn't want it. They should still not want it. Some people do want it. Its about choice.

Sony hardware meeting went as expected really. Those thinking it would be like a conference only have yourselves to blame :p

Neo looks okay really, thematically blends with the other consoles, although the ol' two X duct taped together thing is kinda amusing in reality. Slim should be cheaper - I got a PS4 cheaper than that nearly 2 years ago.

Vita am cry at that Playstation family hardware shot where they even included Move.

Got to agree with others that was a very flat conference and neither Andrew or Mark really wanted to be there I thought. I guess all the leaks ruined everything.

PS4 slim price is ridiculous IMO. Just £90 less than Pro?
No mention of 4K UHD player for Pro?
Also two leaks from Gaffers here didn't come to pass at least right now.
Foxconn guy spot on.

Now to take things in....

Yep, seems like this lacks a 4K BluRay Drive which is deeply disappointing, even at that pricepoint...

Man, that conference was underwhelming.
Poor upgrade, most developers going for 4k only, etc.
But at least HDR for all consoles and some new footage of some games, that's nice (apart from Horizon, Ubisoft towers are not nice). Pricing is honest too, nice to see.

sony needs to pick their battles. this was not worth a press conference. a press blast and an announcement video would have sufficed.

ps4 pro seems harmless though. i'm sure it will do well on the marketplace.

IF they buy a Slim they are still buying into Sony's ecosystem, so why would they care? This is just putting two options on the market, nothing more, nothing less.

People upset ecause like fucking Red Dead wasn't shown? It was a hardware conference and billed as such. Stop overhyping yourselves already.

Hard to tell the major differences over a stream. Price is right for both models. Could have been a press release, as the Giant Bomb guys noted.

The messaging is predictably all about 4K - as in, buy a fancy new Sony TV to take full advantage and help our other struggling departments. 60fps does not seem like it's a priority with this thing, but I guess we'll see what developers do.

Biggest takeaway: I'm good with my newly upgraded PC.

Overwhelmingingly meh. They really should have mentioned the hardware numbers of the Pro. The only things I really took away from this were 399, which is ok, and Mass Effect Andromeda failing to show the femRyder, who was supposed to be the default one, which is decidedly weird.

If my PS4 hadn't just gotten killed by lightning I'd see no reason to upgrade. But since I need a new one, might as well wait and upgrade.

...I don't understand this train of thought. Had you not bought it, you wouldn't have experienced anything, period. Now that an upgrade is available, suddenly you regret your purchase 3 years later? What?

Price for Pro is good.
The design is horrible.

But did they say native 4K? Does it upscale/downscale games? What about the frames?

So many questions.

A console nobody asked for and nobody needs.

It was evident in the press conference how they were desperately trying to explain why this console
Is marginally better.

They were anticipating a problem that doesn't exist.

They should have just shown the slim and ride it out until 2018 and announce PS5
