Are you fucking with me WotC?

Also that art is some Jedi dark souls shit

lol I think they are. How do you name something like that and not have it do anything with equipment?

Aviary Mechanic could be interesting. At worst it seems Limited playable since 1W for 2/2 is fine and it opens up energy and land tricks.

Reckless Fireweaver has a neat effect and plays nicely with Servos, Thopters, and Clues while 3 toughness means it survives some of the format's removal. At least worth a look in Standard and Limited and I suppose Modern Cheerios if that flats your boat.

Restoration Gearsmith is amazing for Limited.

I'm struggling to think of why I'd want that guy to just be a vanilla 2/3.

There's no fabricate matters cards, just artifact matters cards.

I'd like to see this:

2
Matter duplicator
Artifact
Creatures that enter the battlefield with fabricate do both options instead.

yeahhh boyeeee

I mean, it's a bit better than a 2/3 since it's really a 0/1 black creature and two 1/1 artifact creatures for 2B. Admittedly, it's not exactly Lingering Souls. It also seems to suggest that Fabricate 2 (and higher?) will probably be at least uncommon since the only other Fabricate 2 so far was mythic.

That art for a 0/1...

I mean, it's always possible the art was solicited for something else and had to be moved here. That or the card was massively changed. I kinda hope so, honestly.

People always complaining about that Burn to the face, the fact that thermo alchemist is seeing play right now and that deck is almost competitive with the "crappy" burn we have now should indicate to you why its so hard to make work.

Also am I crazy or is Refurbish ...... really good ? I didn't think that vehicles were playable but if you can get Skysovereign, or any of the gearhulks out early that should be pretty powerful, and with all the delirium enablers from the last set ?

I don't know I always wait to see what the whole set brings before I start putting together decks, but the prevailing theme for the good colors (g/w, best color combo ever) seem's to be a token strategy again. 2 of the 4 mythics promote going wide, and the other 2 just kind of seem to be good midrange cards. The problem with the color pair I'm seeing is that the 5 drop slot is LOADED

Here are what I would consider some of the stronger cards (in GW) you would be looking at from the last 2 sets

Archangel Avacyn
Ishkanah, Grafwidow
Verdurous Gearhulk
Cataclysmic Gearhulk
Sigarda, Heron's Grace
Angel of Invention
Nissa, Vital Force
Thalia's Lancers

Most standard decks can realistically only run a few 5 drops, so choosing which way to build it should be a little hard, my guess is you run about 4 - 5 of them depending on how you build your deck.

Is Thermo Thing competitive or is it just popular like Mono White Humans because its cheap?

Yeah, that card is bizarre at uncommon. Did they just forget an ability?

Because getting 2 guys is pretty good, but I don't know why I'd ever really want just 1. If you don't really care about the body of the main guy, there's a ton of use for it - Cryptolith Rite ramping; Westvale Abbey saccing, Emerge, etc.

It's cheap. The entire MTGO meta is overrun with it because it costs very little if you don't bother to play Jace or anything.

leagues are hard

in my two Innistrad v2 block drafts so far, everytime I lost both matches, it was against a U/G Eldrazi summoning deck (which is totally bs in my humble opinion :/)

what are the stages for?

Competitive Leagues have much higher payouts but if you get less than 2 wins you get nothing. 5 matches, 1 stage.

In the Friendly Leagues they have 3 stages of 3 matches each. After Stage 1, you have the option to add a pack of Eldritch Moon. After Stage 2 you have the option to add a pack of Shadows Over Innistrad. Payouts are much flatter.

ah, gotcha. You can only proceed to the next stage if you won every match?

Combos I'm eyeing for my RW Equipment deck:

or

These fit right into the deck. Some good ass aggro. Thinking that and maybe Cathar's Shield or Bone Saw for some real good early aggro.

Fits really good into the 4 drop slot, but competes with Gids and Chandy.

If Equipment doesn't pan out, I'm going to gear the deck into RW Vehicles

So .... we have about 2 day's left of spoilers and no new wrath replacement for languish and tragic arrogance is heading out, is this being spoiled in the next 2 days or are they leaving it out of this set.

We still have the Planar whatever from BFZ.

We have whatever the White Wrath(Planar Outburst?) was from BFZ that had awaken stapled on and Descend Upon the Fishermen. Black could still use one though.

Sideboard against tokens is that one drop enchantment that gains you a fuckton of life

Cathartic Reunion gonna cause some dredge bannings.

I mean, its not THAT much better than Tormenting Voice which sees no play and its certainly not better than Faithless Looting...

I thought all the modern dredge decks played Voice unless they played Inquiry

Never seen one played. The reason you don't see Tormenting Voice played in Dregde and you won't see this one played is because Remand is a heavily played card.

Pay 2 mana, discard 2 cards, return it to your hand.

Even if it's Remanded, the situations seem like a win/win more for dredge.

It sees play in izzet machinegun, modern dredge, and pretty much every deck that still runs goggles. It's not exactly a staple in any format, but it sees a decent amount of play.

Remember when Maro was hyping this up as "the awesome set"? I mean it seems OK. But nothing has really grabbed me.
Serious BFZ flashbacks. Great 4cmc PW, expeditions, bunch of crap.* Tokens might come back. Emrakul will still do emrakul things, green be the best colour in all but removal and no graveyard hate.

* Might play out differently in limited. If there's no small board clears the games might seriously go wide.
