i have this tv and it is amazing
i initially went with the sony x850d as the price difference was over $1000 CAD. the input lag in HDR was horrendous (90+ ms), the blacks were terrible, and brightness wasn't very good and the picture just looked sort of washed out overall
super happy i took it back and got the ks8000 instead. nicest piece of electronics i have ever owned
I am kind of on same boat, bought the x850D last saturday but since I saw the rtings results with 4k hdr input lag, I have been talking to sony support ever since and non of them have a clue what I am talking about. Very frustrating! The ks8000 in the review is actually the ks9000 here in canada, Which is $3400, I just checked. Rtings says the ks8000 (US) model is very close to it, but that was $1000 more. Its not even a fair comparison to the X850D, price difference is like comparing two different level of products. But it looks like the ks8000 (US model )is on sale this week, but it is still 500 more than the X850D that I have paid for.
My other concerns for the ks8000 are:
-do i still have to worry about panel lottery with samsung?
-android tv is very sluggish but at least it allow me to side load android apps and support google cast natively. How is tizen os compare to android tv?
-does pc detect the screen as 4k native res? Because the x850D edid tells my Gf970 that its native res is 1080p and it broke the gpu scaler since geforce require the desktop res to be the same as screen native res in order to work.
- I used to own a samsung tv years ago, the damn thing would not allow me to turn off the junk edge, image enhancement even if I set the input to pc or games. I didn't understand why reviewers said it was great, as it only made everything looks super grainy and pixelated for a slightly more saturated color. Are you capable of turning off all the image processing with the ks8000?
