Oculus' Palmer Luckey funds white-supremacist/misogynistic/anti-lgbt harassment group

Courage Shitposting is the magic that turns dreams memes into reality.

Probably preaching to the "Palmer always rubbed me the wrong way" choir but it's true and I'm not really surprised by this turn of events. What a piece of shit.

YOU CAN'T CLAIM YOU BROUGHT YOURSELF UP FROM NOTHING WHEN YOU HAVE A SUCCESSFUL KICKSTARTER ARGH

THAT IS LITERALLY ASKING FOR PEOPLE TO TRUST YOU THAT YOU'RE GOOD FOR IT

It really is infuriating to read. Honestly, that post alone is enough for me to dismiss anything the guy ever says again assuming he was actually the one to write it. Such a lack of perspective.

Just when I thought Donald Trump Jr had a lock for dumbest Trump kid, this guy makes it a race again.

Not entirely surprised. Dude's a young tech millionaire. Dumb Randian shit (well, nowadays that's given way to alt-right stuff) is super palatable to them.

I've heard altright/neoreaction described as "what happened when all those libertarian forum trolls realized they don't like freedom for non-whites all that much". Seems to apply here.

Nah. Probably won't happen today.
Ah, a shame. When I last checked the thread, it seemed like it could happen within 24 hours of the thread being made, would have been a crazy turnaround.

I'm not sure if I should feel guilty about this. Stories like this, where people show their true colours and experience some sort of consequence (another example might be the Fine Brother "React" copyright), I just really enjoy them. Is enjoying their downfall bad? I mean, even if the Fine Brothers are now fine, and Luckey luckily already made his Facebook money.

Palmer made a FB post:

I am deeply sorry that my actions are negatively impacting the perception of Oculus and its partners. The recent news stories about me do not accurately represent my views.

Here’s more background: I contributed $10,000 to Nimble America because I thought the organization had fresh ideas on how to communicate with young voters through the use of several billboards. I am a libertarian who has publicly supported Ron Paul and Gary Johnson in the past, and I plan on voting for Gary in this election as well.

I am committed to the principles of fair play and equal treatment. I did not write the "NimbleRichMan" posts, nor did I delete the account. Reports that I am a founder or employee of Nimble America are false. I don’t have any plans to donate beyond what I have already given to Nimble America.

Still, my actions were my own and do not represent Oculus. I’m sorry for the impact my actions are having on the community.

If he didn't retweeted awful stuff, and if his girlfriend wasn't involved in more terrible stuff, I might believe him somewhat. But as of now his post is a very weak explanation.

Is there any possible legal action against the daily beast if this is true? They are the ones that claimed he told them he was "nimblerichguy".

what amazes me is the entire gaming community (the parts that matter) are coming out against this, like even the shitheels know this is a bad look and can't spin it

Yep. I took a peek at his girlfriend feed and it made me nauseous. Awful shit. So yeah, I don't trust him one bit.

He's flatly denying being behind that reddit account/post despite the Daily Beast article? What if further proof comes out that it was him?

What the fuck is that FB post?

LMAO

That's the nutty party, he's both confirmed and denied that is his username. He's gone full Trump mode, confirming and denying AT THE SAME TIME.

Yeah, I don't believe him either.

Palmer made a FB post:

It doesnt represent your views and you thought it was a fresh way to communicate with the youngsters?

Just f off Luckey. Does your girlfriends racist tweets also "not represent her views"?

What a joke this guy is. Does he think we are stupid?
