Why do you dislike Hilary Clinton?

I wanted to make this thread because we have a little over a month left, before all the bullshit we've been going through this past year finally comes to a head. In this election we have 2 of arguably the most unfavorable candidates running for office in modern history. And I am scratching my head wondering... why?

I can obviously understand why Trump is unpopular, and I can even understand why the average conservative dislikes Clinton (since they'd dislike any democrat). But what I can not understand is why so many moderates and even left leaning people dislike her. This is a trend I've noticed not just on this site, but also on tons of other social media platforms and I do not get it.

I was a Bernie sanders supporter. I always knew he wasn't going to win, and always planned to switch support to Clinton when she eventually won the primaries. Now I can understand people are frustrated that he didn't win, but that's well and done with and even he has endorsed Clinton. It frustrates me to know end, the fact that I still see so many Bernie or busters, or people voting 3rd party, or people just deciding to not vote at all.

Which is ultimately why I wanted to make this thread because I honestly feel like most of the dislike about her is based off of misinformation and the completely uneven standards given to the 2. It feels like Clinton needs to be 100% perfect at all times and if she drops down even to 99% she is given the exact same amount of criticism that Trump gets for being at fucking 5%.

She's a woman.

I mean...shit...um...

uh...

Untrustworthy. Corrupt! Yeah, she's corrupt! And smiles too much! Or not enough!

If she can't satisfy her husband, how can she satisfy America?

Wait, no, I fucked it up again.

She did corrupt stuff that I can't back up. There we go.

She needed to find a highly-relatable way to communicate her vision for the country, and she's doing that now, never so strongly as the debate. She will be an amazing president. I had criticisms of her based on her candidacy performance only, never disliked her, but that's sorted now.

I guess it will always cling to her that (she's a woman and) she's 'only here because of Bill'. Same problem Jeb! had ultimately. Trump feels self made, though of course he's only here because of his dad (like W. was).

Anecdotal, but my favorite is seeing the same type of dudes label her a "criminal" while shouting: "Innocent until proven guilty!" whenever a rape or abuse accusation hits the news.

The democratic party endorsed her over Bernie and they made sure Clinton was elected candidate, not a secret, a fact, also there is a long list of cons for Hillary to be POTUS, of course they don't seem that bad when you're competing against Donald Trump.

Since she appeared in public life there has been a narrative of her being untrustworthy and not warm; ie womanly enough. It's continued since then. Some people have spent their entire lives watching media that paints her that way, it's not surprising that it would work it's way in. And most people can even say why they dislike here they just do. It's cause of all that.

People disliked her in the same way before all the recently email and Benghazi shit so you know it's because of the media's portrayal of her.

She's been in the public eye and politics too long. They've seen her change her mind too many times. Seen her make too many mistakes. Seen her react to too many incidents. She's a career politician now. Some hate bill and her by proxy

While some see the past 25 years in politics or so giving her tons of experience, others see it as 25 years of possible ways to hang herself. Chances are she did at least one thing during this time you don't agree with, and everyone is trying to vote for the perfect candidate

I dislike her less than Trump, but dislike her nonetheless. Her neocon foreign policy tendencies are extremely worrying.

Because I'm a disappointed and gullible Bernie fan that has bought into every right wing conspiracy surrounding the Clintons over the last 24 years and would rather vote against my own interests.

She lacks charisma as a public speaker, but to be fair that's largely because she's in the company of some pretty fucking fantastic speakers like Obama and Sanders.

Her effectiveness and morality as a politician though, I'm cool with. Put her to work and watch shit get done.

I don't.

While I understand she has flaws and has made a lot of mistakes in her career, I respect her as a person and believe she is well prepared and qualified to be our president. I can't say the same for Trump.

And the more I read/hear about her from those who worked close with her, it leads me to believe that she's a caring, thoughtful and very hard working. She gets stuff done.

It's not a fact that the DNC helped Hillary get elected. Bernie's lack of appeal to minorities is what caused him to lose.

She has just flip flopped many times.

And of course she's been a politician for so long, and reached so many heights that you just know she owns more than a few favors. In short, she's a politician, do you trust politicians?

I don't trust her. Pretty well documented to flip flop on issues, though she seems to be on the right path recently.

I'm still not voting for trump and never would so calm down guys.

Well I voted for Bernie but comparing their policies and it was a no brainer for me to decide on Clinton for this election.

Boggles my mind how you can go from Bernie to Trump but some people vote on gut instincts and it's their choice.

Hang out with Steve.
1. Decades of incessant attacks by her political opponents have seeped into the collective conscience, prejudicing people against her. The result is that people never give her the benefit of the doubt. There's so much smoke, there has to be fire. And even when she's faced investigations and hearings and been exonerated, people don't agree with the conclusions.
2. Because of that, people don't even bother looking past the scandals to what she has accomplished, what she's overcome, and what she's fought for throughout her career. They don't read why she's changed on certain issues, why she voted certain ways, etc. They're simply not interested. And so they continue to have only the view of her they've been fed over the past 30 years or so.
3. And as a result, any mistakes & missteps she DOES make are the most evil, vile, treacherous, treasonous sins ever visited upon the earth, even overshadowing far worse scandals her (male) political opponents have been accused of. There's no leeway, no diving into the actual facts.
4. She's a strong, powerful woman and some are intimidated by that, or don't feel comfortable with a woman in her position.
5. People are opposed to the notion of family dynasties in American politics.
6. There's a double standard -- simply because she's a woman, she is subject to far more scrutiny and harsher judgement than she would if she were a man. A man might be celebrated for his flaws (see: Trump); instead she's vilified for them.

etc.

I think she'll make a fine president & am happy to vote for her in November.

I don't. I feel like to a certain degree many younger progressives have been spoiled with Obama and all other candidates will fail to measure up until they've been through a few elections and realize that Obama was a fluke.

Then OP wasn't calling you to answer.

"Hey guys, who likes bacon?"
"I'M A VEGETARIAN"

I feel like a lot of people aren't actually reading my OP and are just reacting to the title. My post is specifically a call the those who do dislike her to find out why. SInce I feel like most people dislike her due to misinformation, so I wanted to use this thread as a way to dispell them.

The list will probably include the following:

Iraq War Vote

Emails

She lies a lot

Controlled by special interests

Uncharismatic

Crime bill

Libya

She was pro-Syrian intervention

She was against gay marriage in the past(Like most people and most politicians)

And that's the list. Most of which I disagree with or don't really care about personally. Yes, she's not as charismatic as Obama, but charisma is the least important job of a president. Yes she voted for the Iraq war, but the vast majority of the nation was for it at the time and it's not like her one vote tipped the scales one way or the other.

Yes she was pro Libyan intervention, but things are slowly getting better there and they would've been better there in the first place if we hadn't almost completely left the place to the wolves after the intervention. Yes she was pro-Syrian intervention, can you honestly say that Syria is better off now than it would've been had we intervened in a timely manner?

Yes she was for the crime bill, but so were most leaders of the black community at the time. It was a bad decision in hindsight, but hindsight is 20-20. Yes she lies, but name a President who didn't lie regularly. etc.

And aside from the "she's a woman" part, here's the real answer. Anyone with a history this long and this active is bound to have a few skeletons in their closet. The fact that this woman has been in the public eye and scrutinized by a political machine for longer than some voters have even been alive is going to have an effect.
