Download started by itself last night and got to 10gb. Came home and it was back at 2gb. Lol god damn, I really give up. Thank goodness I can still play on Xbox one (even though my PC is far higher specs). I pray ms fixes their pos downloader soon.

Didn't work for me... sent him my store logs. I'm not too worried about getting it early, but I just don't want it to not work when it is actually released.

Freezes after downloading a few gig, I wait anything between 30mins and an hour, and nothing changes - it is just frozen. A restart can sometimes get it to resume downloading but could also end up resulting with it starting again.
Currently looking at 11.52gb and it hasn't budged for 45 mins... internet is working fine, have downloaded several games via steam, so it is not my internet connection which is fibre optic 200mb... I really am at a loss and getting frustrated as it is approaching early release...

I've tried four times now to download this game. Any minor change can fuck up the download and stop it, and of course it completely deletes everything it has already downloaded as well.
Pause the download for too long? Deletes the files.
The store searches for updates for other apps? Deletes the files.
Downloading with slow speeds? Deletes the files.
The store finds updates for other apps? Deletes the files and starts downloading updates for every other app.
How hard can it be to make a downloader that works? This is beyond pathetic and embarrassing for a company like MS. Even GFWL worked better than this. Well, when the piece of shit actually started it worked better than this.
I think I'm getting close to 150GB worth of downloaded data while trying to get this game.

So I downloaded 65 GB. Paused the download. Shut my PC down. Took a break. Restarted the PC. Download shows 45mb of 45mb. What should I do, GAF?
Edit: Deleted the download in frustration. Seriously Microsoft is terrible at PC gaming. No way they are serious about this.

That is a huge mistake. Windows 10 Store does not play well with long paused downloads as it will lose the encrypted download link.
Download 38gig of the download overnight but paused and shut off my PC while at work. Get home to resume the download, errors out and deletes the 38 gig and can't even start the download now.
The windows store is embarrassing compared to any other online store ala Origin, Stream, UPlay.
Can someone please paste the link to the direct download from fiddler, as I can't actually download the game now.

Still can't get this shit to work after fiddling with it for a few days. After uninstalling the Gears app yesterday I was able to download 45gb straight no problems (while getting 20mb/sec!). Then it slowed to a stall and since then I've downloaded only a couple of mbs. Looking at my wifi activity (nothing else is downloading), I'm getting periodical downloads of 40-90kb every couple of seconds. So its still downloading but not constantly or quickly. Pausing and restarting or resetting the Windows store does nothing. Guess I'll uninstall and pray to god it doesn't stall again.
My download appeared to freeze at 38 gigs. I kept pausing and resuming to no avail. Today, I checked my downloads and it finished. I think the download manager is buggy.

Okay, I wanted to move a game from one drive to another just so I could make more room.

ahh i have the same problem with halo, in KI i tried to move it from my laptop to an external drive to my main pc. got it to successfully move to the drive but my main pc wouldnt recognize the game on the drive. Windows store apps are shit.
Thanks for that. The problem is that the game will not allow me to start the download now, this is after 'uninstalling' the game, removing all cached download files etc etc...
What i'm after is the actual URL of the gears file, the .EAppx file so that I can download it through a download manager and install it via powershell.

Anyone who cant install after downloading - this worked for me providing you have the files on your HDD
run Powershell in admin mode and type:
Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml}
It got past the 0x800 error and it is now installed ready to go.. not a bloody easy ride people.

It's seriously mind boggling how MS can have a store that is so fucking unstable when it comes to downloads. I'm new to this shit since the first game I've downloaded from there was forza 3 horizon and that shit took two days. Feels like this won't be done until tomorrow since I'm just about half way through the DL which I've been trying to complete since noon today.

I think Amazon stopped doing the promotion after a bunch of people got keys fraudulently, I don't see it mentioned on any of the GTX 1070 pages on Amazon...

Was at 38gb, somehow got signed out, then it wouldn't sign me back in for bit. Just got signed back in and I've lost my download progress and it won't let me start the download again saying "something went wrong on our end". Fucking infuriating.

I think all these bugs are just popping up as barely anyone has used the store until now lol.
Plus they have added new stuff into the mix like pre loading and huge app sizes.
They need to squash the bugs pronto because they are starting to look a little silly.

Started the download again. I did the wsreset and deleted the download folder.
It is downloading way too fast though. I can download 20GB an hour when full speed is available yet the windows store shows me I have already downloaded 40GB in 30 minutes.
I can already see the next fucking error once its finished. I will refund this fucking piece of shit if I can't play by tomorrow. 100 and I can't even download the game.

I love the idea of Play Anywhere, but I don't think it could have gotten off to a worse start for MS. They really need to get their shit together.
