The sad thing about this thread is it means that even Nintendo development support has no clue about NX.

Get your shit together Nintendo.

"We look forward to talking more about NX in the new year. Have you seen Super Mario Run and Pokemon Go???"

Stock rises 10%.

I said it in the other thread, but the fact that we don't have any press murmurings of an event soon likely means that either the event is at least a couple weeks off or that it'll be a direct with press events afterwards.

I'm still counting on the reveal this year, but it's just bizarre why Nintendo can't say "hey, the reveal will be on this date." It doesn't hurt them to announce it that far off, does it? What do they gain by silence other than reading the amazing reddit posts?

Sega Saturn E3 '95 style announcement incoming

You do know that was only for the American release date, right? That the system had not only been shown off (for over a year) before, but it was already out in japan?

I wonder if there have been any issues with manufacturing.

More thank likey it is these two things:

- Nintendo aren't happy to show off games until they're ready for prime time
- Nintendo still is deciding how to get their messaging across during the initial reveal, and due to the Wii U's disastrous reveal they really want to make sure they don't want to repeat that mistake twice.

Well, two weeks from tomorrow, they'll have to say something about NX and the timeframe for a reveal (assuming it's not already revealed by then), even if it's a delay.

Whew at Nintendo keeping everyone on their toes. When will anyone else?

Taking a bit of a risk, considering the Wii U situation too, if this thing ends up being thought of as shit by a lot of gamers, the keeping folk on their toes stance isn't worth it.

Two points I'm more than happy for Nintendo to take their time with.

Yeah, most of the reports suggest that the hardware is fine, so I'm going to agree on this.

Thinking.... "Final Name reveal, basic concept, look, and an announcement of a game this year."

Then a "please look forward to our January 5th, 2017 Nintendo NX Exclusive Direct Presentation!"

The latest they can reasonably wait is January.

Was there ever as much thirst for a console reveal than there is for the NX reveal?

It's always crazy, but this is the longest we've gone from "We're making a new system, please look forward to more information later" to reveal... ever? Not to mention the fact that Wii U only has one first party retail game left (ok, two if you count project giant robot). When PS4/XB1 were announced (before the reveal), PS3/360 still had a healthy library ahead of them.

So it's a perfect storm of radio silence and tumbleweeds that are causing the fervor.

Even if they're still trying to get the reveal *just* right, it'd be nice if they publicly acknowledged that information is on the way. No need to do specific date, but a timeframe would have been nice. Unless they worry they might not even get THAT right?

This dude, whoever he is, is just repeating old information Nintendo has already provided. This isn't news, nor confirmation that the NX reveal will happen this year.

Yeah, I know..it was just a joke lol. But I wouldn't mind honestly if they did actually do that

WELCOME EVERYBODY TO THE NEW NX THREAD ON NEOGAF

I HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR STA-Locked.

For those wondering why this is important, I just suppose it just gives us assurance contrary to the idea that NX is delayed... which up until now was a fair assumption to make.

Does anyone know if this was posted is September or May? The NOE part of this makes me wonder how the date format should be read.
