i expect:

1. the real name
2. proof of concept game
3. first look at the new mario
4. you guessed it, frank stallone
5. breath of the wild
6. showcase of partners
7. pricing

next week the forecasting will need to include games and this week they'll probably announce a more in-depth reveal.

this is more or less what i'm expecting.

1. real name will cause a firestorm on its own.

2. proof of concept game is going to be mario, of course

3. controller reveal will explode the internet

4. partners will be: ubisoft, EA

5. zelda, pokemon, mario, no new franchise

6. $299

How do people still believe this is not going to be a hybrid? It's the best idea Nintendo has had in ages. I've actually stated that would be the best thing they could way before NX was ever alluded to.

This is a good gif, but....Iwata.... :(

Guess I gotta eat my cartridge
While people would obviously find that extremely hilarious I would totally advise against it.
It could be a major safety hazard. If you swallowed it whole it could lodge in your asophagus.
If you cut it up beforehand you could get cuts on your guts (I know it sounds awesome because it rhymes but please stay serious for now).

Just don't do it. Your health isn't worth it.

Not everybody is enthusiastic about all games potentially being upscaled handheld titles with all the limitations that implies.

Well, that's not really what the reports point to IMO, but I'm not talking about people who merely dislike the idea of a hybrid. I'm referring to those who are so desperate to believe that NX is a powerful, stationary home console that they cling to random YouTube and Twitter fanboys with no actual sources, and hyperbolically denounce or distort not only Emily Rogers, but the work of every actual journalist who's reported on what NX is.

These people are completely insufferable and I can't wait to see them thoroughly humiliated.

That sounds more like a Direct than a 3 minute teaser. I expect them to announce a date for a full reveal and show a glimpse of the hardware, announce the name and show Zelda running on it.

I expect the name, and how it looks. Followed by a brief idea of what it is, and logo's of franchises to look forward to. We made it.

like 9 and a half hours.

I thought it was soon the way people are responding. I'll get some sleep I think and then jump in late when GAF comes back online.

A powerful portable that consolidates both Nintendo's home and handheld software into one platform would be like a dream for me. As someone who already has a gaming PC, the features that can be offered by a standardized platform are far more compelling for a portable, low power device than for home gaming.

Also, I'm really looking forward to seeing what 3rd party developers can do. Obviously this isn't going to be as powerful as the PS4 or Xbox One, but it's a very significant step up from the 3DS, and developers will be far less constrained by the hardware when it comes not just to the visuals, but also gameplay mechanics or level design that previously would have been too demanding to implement.

Gimmie that monster hunter.

Its gonna like that Spongebob training video episode where the Krabby patty is slowing coming to the screen...for 3 minutes, narrated by Bill

the controller idea has a small element that probably is unknown (i haven't kept up on rumors even though it's a great album).

people have grown attached to the nx name, but i think it's a bit dumb. people grew out of 'revolution' and 'dolphin'.

i'm expecting sega, ubisoft, and square-enix. this will probable be an indication of nintendo's support with the platform moving forward.

zelda, pokemon, and mario makes sense, but i think they'll have a new franchise ready like the have since every new generation since the gamecube. zelda's already been revealed and announced for the platform so it wouldn't be a big surprise.

$299.99 is going to cause a shitstorm, but i think that's what it'll be. i think it will be well worth the value in terms of software though, especially since the nx seems to be the logical conclusion of the wii u idea.

I hope we see something of the console and controller and not just a trailer for games. I seriously doubt we are gonna get hardware specs and info. That would more than likely come from the investors meeting.

Me too.

SuperMetalDave64 used to be cool.

I'm happy the reveal is upon us, but 3 minutes seems way to short.
I hope they show us something decent and that we don't have to wait another month to get more info.

I imagine the NX being a decently strong system also means that those developers can (or will) target other ecosystems now rather than just the 3ds like before. I imagine the age of releasing a game as an exclusive to one system without the console manufacturer stepping in and paying you to do so (as a lot of 3rd party 3ds games are) is effectively over. The higher budgets as a result of this increased power and fidelity will likely ensure this, due to needing as many sales as possible to cover those costs.

I imagine this will be a good time for people who liked what the 3ds was offering 3rd party wise but didn't feel like buying one.
