So we know Nintendo, we've seen the alleged specs and we know that they're not chasing hardware power. Are people really still going to make a scene about that? It's like, no shit? I dunno at this point you'd think everyone would not expect it to be more spec-heavy than other things. It's simply a done deal.

Yes, and rightfully so, if it doesn't match current gen specs. Especially when they have it advertised as a "home console."

Bummed it's only going to be 3 minutes, but who am I kidding? I'm HYPE and came wait!

I would be okay if it were one minute as long as I can see what the fucking thing looks like and a logo revealing the name. That's all I need right now. I'm just ready to see it and know what it is.

All I'm saying is-- we know. The specs are out. We know Nintendo isn't about being the best on the block when it comes to hardware power. I don't really get the whole acting surprised and sudden disappointment when it's written in stone already.

I imagine with a launch in March, they have games ready to showcase. Whether they choose to showcase them is anyone's guess, but this isn't like the WiiU's reveal in 2011 or the GameCube's in 2000. It's hardly even like the early Wii reveal. The NX launch is so imminent there must be games in their final, final stages of development outside of Zelda.

Why are strippers at the U.N. bad when they're great at strip clubs???
I enjoy your continuing use of Jackson GIFs.

My pleasure :) I've put my Divergent GIFs to the side, it's Jackson Wang's time!

Finally!
But no event nor direct means few info just to push investors away from deeper questions
At least is something

I always thought it was short for "Next".

Same. But, it won't be called Nintendo Next or anything like that. NX is just a codename. The abbreviation could somehow be a part of the final name, but that's not gonna be the name of it straight-up.

I think I'm going to spend the Next hour or two with some earbuds and the Mario Galaxy(s) soundtrack(s).

Just got off of work. Has anyone analyzed this yet?

-what are the circled areas on the left pic?
-the items circled on the right ones are power and volume buttons, right?
-it's the same shaped power input as the Wii U, right?
-I really dig the game cart slot. It's larger than a 3DS slot.
-funny that we have a nunchuck/classic controller port on this thing. It's the same as the new NES pads for the NES mini, yes?
-the only thing I call bullshit on is that LAN port. The last 2 Nintendo systems were Wifi only. Did their devkits have LAN ports as well?
-and what's the two shiny things at the end? They look like Coax numbs...

Nintendo's home consoles haven't matched "current gen" specs since the GameCube. It would be a very weird thing to get upset about.

I know the rumors point to there not being a "traditional" console base, but I'm still holding out hope for one. Call me... well, traditional?

Fell asleep for a few minutes and suffered Sleep Paralysis.

Yep. Whenever I try to sleep whether it be for a job or something and I need to be up early but just can't do it, I tend to have some funky shit happen when I do try.

Damn I wonder what would happen to GAF if they named it SNES 64...

On a Serious note would it be possible they name it after one of the older consoles.

Not sure about the lan port, but the coax style ports are very standard on dev kits apparently... Wii U kit had them too. There was a lot of talk about it earlier in the thread. Can't remember about the circle area though.

The circled areas are just to show that both "screens" are maybe the same device, and that maybe the device laying down is attached to the dock.

Dev kits will always have LAN ports. It's far more reliable.

.

It's not a 'traditional' home console but it is a handheld and a home console. Like Jeff Gerstmann said, difference between this and a PSP with TV out is the NX is specifically made practical and neat to play on the TV, it's made to be played both ways, so there's no real factor that should make people interested in a home console experience dissatisfied. Except that it has to adjust for power on the go, of course. But the experience of playing itself should satisfy both camps.

Devkits are larger and usually have stuff retail units don't. Retail unit probably wouldn't have the coax or ethernet ports.

I can't believe we are about to see hardware and maybe a glimpse of software for a new Nintendo console, all within 180 seconds.

What.

That still feels unheard of for Nintendo for some reason.
