Tom Phillips said NX was going to be revealed in September, but Nintendo couldn't get Mario NX running properly so it got pushed to now and Mario NX is running good.

Oh hell yes! Zelda would have been nice, as it would've indicated a huge visuals upgrade but new Mario is even better!

I'm not crazy, I swear...

But i've been pretty concerned about it since the first rumours of a hybrid device, I'm not late to the party or just waking up before the reveal.
This is a stance I've been having for a long time, but only about rumours, I'll wait for the real thing to be unveiled to have a definitive opinion of course.
I'm not a Nintendo fanboy, I'm a fan of their games, so if I think they're doing hardware wrong, this is my opinion and being concerned about it is totally fair.

Wii U had two SKUs. $299 and $349. Nintendo discontinued the cheaper, because it sold worse than the 349 model, and reduced the more expensive to 299.

Miyamoto went so far as to suggest that the system was too expensive from the jump. I believe $250 is the magic number. If they can manage $199, they're laughing, because they should pretty easily sell to people with iffier feelings based on a couple high profile games.

The only credible sources put this somewhere between Wii U and Xbox One, with no commitment on where on the spectrum it'd fall. The only thing we kind of know is that it's GPU solution is Nvidia and probably related to Tegra.

It sounds impossible to me, yet we're in the minority thinking this way apparently.

It is basically impossible at this point, yeah. Even if somehow they managed to do such a feat of engineering the damn thing would cost more than PS4,PS4 Pro,Xbox One and Xbox One S all combined.

A $50 dollar price fluctuation doesn't make the system anymore attractive if the value isn't there. If the hardware doesn't offer anything attractive to the a wide mass of consumers, there isn't much that can be done outside of liquidating the product through bargain bins.
