Kind of sad to see Hudson in there...

Everybody on that list made at least one game for WiiU as far as I can tell, and that list is no where near a big as this one

Good. If From Software release even ONE Souls game for this, I'm in. I really, really hope this thing picks up, because I'd love to be able to have Souls & Nintendo games on one console.

I know people say this every time but it does seem like they are making a bigger effort with 3rd parties this time. We already know the new Sonic game and Dragon Quest XI (or at least a version of it) are coming to the platform and both are current gen PS4/Xbox One games. There are also strong rumors that they have woo'd Ubisoft to make an exclusive (at least timed) Beyond Good & Evil game which if true further suggests they are at least gonna try for support this time.

At a minimum I want N64 level of 3rd party support.

Here is what you are probably going to get on the Nintendo Switch:

--Nintendo games
--Indie games
--Japanese RPGs

Look at your 3DS library and maybe your Vita library if you want a clue as to what your Switch library is going to look like. It's gonna be that shit but with better graphics. I'm perfectly fine with buying a Switch as basically an upgrade from my 3DS. If we're lucky EA and 2K might do some sports games which would be a really good idea.

Ubisoft will give them something (BG&E2 most likely). Remember Rayman Legends and I think one other game were originally Wii U Exclusive but because sales just weren't there they were ported later on to PS4/XB1

This time I believe in real third party support. I mean, they will have an unified Nintendo library which will bring a lot of people. The system is capable of running downscaled ports of current gen games and play them in all places. A perfect oportunity for third parties to make money without needing to develop exclusive stuff like they did with Wii. The amount of double dip will be insane.

Those are 3DS partners.

Ok, found it myself.

BIG difference.

On wow. The giant Switch wall of devs seems a bit outlandish still, but the comparison here really brings some hope. If they play their cards right I think this could be a decent hit.

Was that an intentional pun...cards? :p

Funny to see Square Enix there...the reason the "switched" from N64 to PSone was the disc...and now they will be back on a nintendo home console which uses cards...

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch
I mean... that really should put those "So what, the wiiu had tons of third parties on board too" comments into perspective

there are quite a number of filler logos for Switch though like autodesk, unity etc. still better but theres still large room of improvement

EDIT: Nevermind. Just realized Namco is on there and is just very blurry. Welp, there goes my hope that things were better than they seemed.

But will they really do that? The development coats of an NS game will be much higher than for a 3DS game. So they won't just put the handheld games on the NS if they aren't sure they sell extremly well. In the WORST CASE SCENARIO Nintendo loses even the third party developer that always supported their handhelds when their games dont sell well...

Knowing SE, they'd just make whatever they've been making for handheld and bump the price to $60.

If this entire 3rd party support is real, then is safe to realize that Yamauchi and Iwata were the reason why Nintendo had bad relations with them and why they kept their distance for so many generations.

It's good this is finally coming to an end.

I think a huge help to appeal the mass at the start would be have on Switch a main episode of Call of Duty and Fifa.

I don't see why that is, considering the Switch is still following the philosophies both presidents held forever.

Just realised that Silicon Studios is working with Mistwalker on a game together. Hopefully this game is coming to Switch.

If Bayonetta 3 Switch ever happens, the opening trailer absolutely has to have a bullet shoot out the S in the logo.

Didn't Kamiya say he wanted the third one to be a portable title focusing on Jeanne?

Switch to the rescue! Bayo 3 basically confirmed!

It's the same song and dance every time, why do people keep falling for it?

Might turn out the same. But the number of companies stepping up at the beginning for the Switch is night and day better than the WiiU or the Wii. With the WiiU these devs weren't confident in the machine enough to even give lip service and let their names go up on a slide.

I'm glad Konami is on that list. Not that I'd expect it from them but a bomberman game on this thing would be an instant purchase and work so damn well with the strengths of the device.

Bethesda and Epic are huge! Take2 too.
Both danced around the Wii and Wii U for obvious reasons before.

Having them on board could ensure that an entire demographic that laughed off Nintendo consoles these last 10 years might actually consider the Switch.

The only thing that's really getting in the way is the release spectrum. In march, most of the big coming shooters and sports games are already half a year old.
I don't think a re-release of CoD, BF1, FiFa17, Skyrim and so on will do the trick and provide the sales they are looking for. Hopefully that won't matter much...

I'm just here to remind people of all the talking head videos of game designers saying how awesome Wii U was and they'll support it.......

A good number of people were saying Nintendo would get zero third party support/zero Western third party support over the last 18 months or so, so yes it does mean something.

It means that publishers will never underestimate Nintendo, especially with how Wii took off after the doom and gloom of the Gamecube era. No publisher in their right mind would ignore a new Nintendo platform. It'll be the early success of Switch - and third party software sales - that'll determine whether they stick around though. And it'll also be interesting to see if Switch is treated a bit like Wii was last generation - ie with 'lite' versions of games rather than the full blown article of the other consoles (CoD Wii games spring to mind).

If they have 60$ versions of 6 month old titles, they better not expect the biggest sales.

If they have 6 month old titles for 40$ or less, they may have something on their hands for people willing to double dip.

it really isn't anything people 'keep falling for' - the 3ds saw games from most of the publishers on the list, and the wii u saw games from all the publishers on the list except konami. if we're talking about 80%-90% of the developers showing up for switch, similar to 3ds and wii u, it's going to have very strong support at least initially.

As someone with a PS4 and XBO I couldn't care any less about partnerships. I gave up on expecting good 3rd party support on Nintendo home consoles a decade ago.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Seems like a bit of it is fluff just to pad out that wall.

"unity"? Ok

The lack of engines and the weakness of the hardware to support them was a major drawback for the WiiU.

Unity on the WiiU was a big reason why there were so many indie releases. Because it was a trivial amount of effort to port them.

Having tool makers step up (if they actually deliver) is huge.
