Well deserved.
Every GTA sets a new standard in open world design. I can't wait what RDR2 and GTA6 will bring new to the table. With the resources they have now it will surely blow our minds.

Has this game made multiple billions in revenue now? I guess it must have.

It's impossible to ship 70 million copies of a $60 product and not have multiple billions in revenue. Furthermore, with the revenue from GTA online, they're probably at a point where the only other entertainment products that compete with it would be stuff like Gone with the Wind and Star Wars. I can't even begin to imagine what GTA 6 will do.

Number doesn't even make sense. Moved 70m copies and making even more money off the backs of people playing the online. Just fucking absurd. Rockstar is untouchable.

I can definitely see them resting on there laurels after this but I guess we'll see what RDR2 is like.
They'll just continue on their own pace like they have done for some time now. The sales numbers just gives Rockstar more power to tell Take-Two shareholders "don't push us, it's done when it's done."

Take Two/2K making a killing right now off of GTA alone. Sheesh.

Show me the WWE2K17 receipts tho <_<

Dump a couple million into that series tho >_>

Ugh what was the sell through? 10m? Pfft. And there's like 7 billion people in the world and they only sold to 70m. Big deal.

Y'all need to let go of the whole SP DLC thing. It isn't happening.

GTA Online literally rakes it in for them and they're keeping the majority happy with free updates.

Insane numbers. Not too far from the total sales of the Final Fantasy franchise, iirc. I rarely hear people talk about it though.

And people wonder why Nintendo hardware bombs. Switch better pray it gets the next GTA. With those kind of numbers, if your hardware can't play the next GTA you might as well not exist.

A proper portable GTA would be crazy.
Yeah, in theory a Vita allows you to play your gtav anywhere, but in practice it just doesn't work (at least, it doesn't for me).

But nope, there's no way the next GTA releases on Nintendo Switch.
Maybe they could release GTA V again though, and hit that 100 million mark.

I just hopped aboard with the Steam sale last week, I'm amazed by the game so far, it might be the most impressive combination of visuals / performance I've seen in years, can't believe my rig is maxing it at 60fps. The reflections, the lightning, the water, the draw distance...the game is a real technical showpiece.

Exactly. To not release the biggest video game franchise on earth on your platform is a mistake, full stop.

And you're kidding yourself if you don't think a huge chunk of those sales are for kids... kids eat GTA up.

Excellent sales, but at this point it isn't really surprising news....I'm expecting it to go over 100mil before the next instalment releases.

Well deserved though, it is probably the one game I have spent more hours playing than any other since its initial release in 2013 across 3 platforms (360, PS4 and PC)

They should use that money to hire some people to port their games to PC sooner rather than later.

But they won't because then how else will they get people to buy the same game twice.

No wonder why it took GTAV so long to drop in price. For one game, "impressive" wouldn't be a good enough descriptor.

Totally would've done at least 1 mil.
