So everything is fine and everyone is okay with this shit? such a wishy washy community.

Other's do this it's fire and brimstone but Blizzard? yeah it's okay. That basis is heavy.

I understand your issue, but complaining about it won't make people not buy it. You feel it will set a new precedent, and not only will Blizzard continue with such practices, but if other companies see it's working they'll do it too. I get it

What weird alternate universe do you live in where people go fire and brimstone every time there's paid DLC for a game?

Like, I think Necromancer coming on its own is pretty lame, and would rather pay for an expansion with the Necro and some new story content, but there's nothing wrong with a developer charging money for a fully developed character class.

D3 and RoS together have sold 30 million copies.

I don't mean overall sales, but sales in recent years and months. They are likely making very little on D3 these days since the majority of people who wanted to play it have already purchased it. In comparison they are making a good amount of money on the newer Games as Services games on a daily basis.

While I enjoy POE, it just feels "janky" compared to D3, especially in terms of animation. Similarly while I enjoy the builds being locked into one feels like a step back from D3's fluidity.

Since the desync patch it feels a lot better imo,but yeah its animations, etc aren't as polished as Diablo.

Different strokes for different folks re: builds I suppose. Being locked to one makes it more replayable in my eyes. But again, everybody's taste are different.

I thought the witch doctor was meant to be the necro's spiritual successor?

Here's how Blizzard explains it:

Q: How is the Necromancer different from the Witch Doctor?

A: The Necromancer and Witch Doctor are quite different in both theme and play style!

Witch Doctors draw their magic from their spiritual connection to a realm they call the Unformed Land. This more light-hearted take on supernatural powers allows them to command creepy crawly denizens of the jungle and summon mindless zombified pets.

Necromancers can expect darker, more controlled gameplay centered around the raw materials of life: blood and bone. Grounded in a philosophical, pragmatic approach to life and death, they’re more like a calculated conductor of the darkest arts. Deadly serious in their practice, they are the experts of curses and reanimation—and their pets obey their every command.

What weird alternate universe, do you live in where people don't go near ballistic over a SINGLE paid DLC for a mediocre game? Go on the forums and reddit right now an go absorb that reaction. The folks that are looking forward to this are nostalgia bait eaters that will, suck this up and use this as a reason to play D3 again. When they know themselves (or at least some of them) that it's not up to par with the series.

It sickens me that Blizzard used nostalgia to get people to pay for SINGLE dlc Character. All that fake excitement on stage was off putting.

It's hilarious how much you project.

Because you find D3 mediocre, no one else can actually enjoy it, right? That would be fucking impossible.

All I wanted was for Diablo 1 to be added to the legacy games so we can buy/install it with our battle.net account... That's all I wanted... I'm not very happy with this Diablo 1 in Diablo 3, it just feels wrong.

I mean, considering the ridiculous amount of support D3 has gotten, I'm not too offended by asking for money for an extra class. Depends how much though. 15 would be crazy high given that's half an expansion price.

You're also really good at putting word in people's mouth. I never say anything about no one else actually enjoy it. People enjoy mediocre stuff all the time, i do as well. But this is a series that i love. D3 is more then a little below mediocre. But that is my opinion more so then anything.

This feels like Blizzcon 2010 all over again. They really didn't have enough to justify the convention.

Yeah it's very similar it was a hole lot of nothing. But they want dem tickets sells and they know people will come. Though having my ear talked off doesn't seem like fun, outside of getting together with the community that likes/loves blizzard games.

You're entitled to your opinion. It can be wrong, but you're entitled to it.

After thousands of hours in Diablo 1 and Diablo 2, I like 3 the most. So there.

Okay, i got more then 3 thousand hours in D2+LOD and 800 hours in D1 way back. So there.

So good for you, D3 is not Diablo to me period. Barely any dna remains from Blizzard North

You just sat there and said the people looking forward to it are only doing so out of nostalgia, and are using it as a reason to play D3 again, and that they know the game is mediocre.

Plenty of people love the game, and enjoy playing it, and still play it, and will continue to play it, and will be happy to have the Necromancer.

I was listening to one of the Wow podcasts The Instance last week and they were talking about how blizzcon may be evolving for a destination for esports instead of bombshell announcements and this one certainly reinforced that idea.
Blizzcon may be becoming just the final destination of all the esports with a few things sprinkled in. That said I don't know if the future of blizzard games is for me anymore.

At this point, Blizzcon is more about the eSports finals then announcements, which gives it a reason to happen every year regardless of product cycles.

Well, at least next year we know they will likely have new products to announce (unless they announce the new WoW expansion at Gamescom like they did with Legion).

Came in for only Overwatch, and it seem to deliver at least decently; a new character, a new mode, two new maps, and a league. I probably would look forward to Oasis the most through, but Sombra looks to be a pretty cool character, just that her type of playstyle is something I tend to not get into much.

Matter a fact i didn't, all i really said was that Blizzard is using nostalgia to pull people back in and that's a fact. Doesn't change the fact, that the game is ultimately mediocre, rather people want to believe it or not.

So, why still point out the obvious? There is always going to be people that plays games that aren't good. In my opinion. The recent COD games is the perfect example.

Diablo is now a causal game more then ever. So of course it will bring in folks, but you know what? ROS did bring in a little bit of the grit back. But not near enough.

It's too bad Blizzard games aren't the final destination of e-sports anymore.

But in all seriousness, I'm sorry you don't like the new one, and it's not to your taste. Ce la vie.

You keep using that word. I don't think you know what it means. It is not a "fact" in the slightest. Your are conflating your own opinion, with truth. You can keep trying to insult people that like it on the sly, with your "always going to be people that plays games that aren't good" tripe, but you ain't fooling anyone. You don't like it, and now you're trying to make sure the whole world agrees. Good luck with that, buckaroo.

Ce la vie indeed. ;p

SC2 is an esport failure, gotta hype OW now.

It was cringe how they were trying to push that. Like those types of scenes have to organically happen. You can't force them.

It's E-sports 101.

The world doesn't care about little old me and what i say on these forums about a video game. You just don't feel the same way subjectively as me and that's fine.

i still have diablo 2 on my blizz account didn't even try it.. where and as what should i start ?

Heh, would this apply to Heroes of the Storm as well? Those are the only games I see stuttering in when using G-Sync.

HotS works fine with Gsync as well. But it's more normal, where you'll want to disable Vsync and triple buffering. I played that last night as well! Smooth as butter, in the 120+ FPS.

In retrospect releasing SC2 broken up over a long period of time was probably a terrible idea. I feel like it killed a lot of hype out of the gate for that game.

Also SC2 had an ancient engine when it launched. They put all the effort into the matchmaking and esporting and zero effort into making it fun for casual players. If no casual players play, no one tunes into streams of people playing it, and the pros don't make any money.

Welp, that was something I guess.

D1 in D3's engine? But that would ruin what makes D1 good, wouldn't it??? o_O

And I guess the necro for D3 is cool, but we have to pay for a new class without any expansion content? That's....not at all what I expected. Hopefully it's decently priced. :(

$39.99!

Blizzard pricing has been something I never liked.

D2 hasn't aged well graphically at all, especially because of the resolution limitations (max is 800x600). I always preferred sorcs to the rest of the classes, but it's a preference. You can still find plenty of builds if you want to go that route but it really does tell a fantastic story.

I get that people like D3, but a bunch of people, myself in this crowd, just found it kind of dull and lacking. It's an opinion though. I'll never hate on someone for not digging D3 since it's their preference. I got a few hundred hours out of it. I don't know why, but I've never been able to grind it like I could D2. I still go back to D2 and this makes me want to hop back on tonight and level some.

... you buy the virtual ticket for panels and/or the in game goodies. All the announcements and tournaments are free to watch.

I'm aware, but I'm wondering how much of interest the panels will have. Seems like a really light time to do convention.
