That last quote sounds like it could be a joke. His humor tends to be similar to that.

But yeah...doesn't look good. :-/

I think he's basically correct that Trump's phrasing in the originally tape could, on its own, imply consent, assuming you understand the "they" he referenced to be the women being grabbed, rather than the authorities, i.e. he's such a rich, famous star that women want him implicitly - and, really, bragging about women wanting you is far more common than bragging about them NOT wanting you - but you cannot really extricate it from your knowledge of Trump's overall attitude toward women which suggested that, yeah, he probably did just grope the shit out of unsuspecting women at least a few times.

Yeah. I mean it relies on Trump's perception of what he considered being "let" to do, so... yeah. Dave.

I knew Dave had his homophobic moments (transphobia too), but holy fuck. As someone who grew up on Chappelle's Show, this is so upsetting. :(

said, ‘And when you’re a star, they let you do it.’ That phrase implies consent

Heard this line of thinking before. It absolutely does not, Dave. "They let you do it" is from Donald's perspective, not the person he's acting upon. Letting Trump touch you could just as easily mean "too afraid to do anything about it" or "just rolling with it because it's not worth saying no."

A percentage of these instances may, potentially, be invited. But in no way does it imply universal consent.

Ehhh I don't agree but I'll give Dave the benefit of the doubt until/if I hear the bit in context. Hearing transcribed comedy always sounds weird. Like if you read what Chappelle said about Donald Sterling a few years back vs actually hearing the bit in context.

I grabbed them by the pussies out of nowhere and they smiled and nodded, or bolted and never mentioned it again. (except for the dozen or so women that have alleged sexual assault) But yeah, other than that, they gave consent.

So he's saying that Hillary's campaign leaked the tape, and not someone from within Trump's camp?

Is there any basis for this claim?

No.

NBC News first became aware of the footage late Monday after receiving notice from producers at “Access Hollywood,” a syndicated entertainment-news program owned by NBC. The program’s producers had combed their archives for interviews with Trump after reading an Associated Press account of crude remarks he had made about female contestants on “The Apprentice,” the NBC reality program that Trump had starred on for 14 seasons.

They found the 2005 segment, in which Trump and “Access Hollywood” co-host Billy Bush banter crudely about women while traveling to a studio taping.

This topic makes me think people shouldn't believe everything they read on social media.

Unless you were in the crowd and heard the jokes firsthand then you really don't know anything about it.

How the fuck is GAF reacting like this to an article from that source?!

Does everyone here enjoy being angry about shit?

People haven't been paying attention over the years. His position on racism, sexist, and lbgt are not new.

His position of black people being angry or upset about our civil rights issues being compared to sexual discrimination is very prominent. He won't lose any black fans with those comments.

I'm 100% with what he says. The audio was a prepared strike that they had in their belts since the beginning of the election, knowing that and withholding it for political benefit is foul.

I'm also concerned with how everything Clinton is buried under a rug just because Trump is nut job.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Thanks for getting the source.

I actually thought it was going to be about how those other groups use black civil rights as a springboard for their own ends while treating the black members of their groups like shit. I didn't think he go so far on it though.

I don't fully (only mostly) disagree with stuff dave is saying but to say that hillary stuff has gotten swept under the rug is flat out wrong. Her dirty laundry has been aired for decades.

There's nothing prepared about the audio. It's 100% verbatim and unedited.

Nvm. Misread.

He could've been trying to get at this, but we don't know because the stenographer in the crowd has only given us a few choice snippets.

Another earlier source confirming similar jokes

Dave Chappelle made sure fans didn’t record a late-night show at the Cutting Room last week.

The enigmatic comic played the Gramercy Theater on Wednesday, then entertained a Cutting Room crowd at 1 a.m. Friday, performing a two-hour set.

Fans were not allowed to record the gig or take pics, and even had their “phones stored in soundproof cases” till the concert was over, spies said.

Chappelle did four nights at the Cutting Room, with his rep telling us: “He’s working on new material.”

New jokes included cracks about the election and Donald Trump’s infamous “Access Hollywood” tape. “He said he was staying at the Trump Soho and grabbed one of the maids by the ‘p—y’ and told her, ‘It’s OK! Your boss said it’s all right,’” a spy said.

heh, need to see it on video before I judge.

stand up comedy doesn't work when transcribed out of context. for instance, Bill Burr is my favorite comedian and, even though his head is in the right place, a lot of the jokes he makes sound vile if you write and spin them into an article like this.

What fucking election coverage have you been watching?

I think it's combination of both.

None of this is true. No one has been attacked more than Clinton, jesus christ, swept under the rug?

The Trump stuff isn't a big deal, it's more the transphobia that's kind of a bummer.
What confuses me most is the bottom of the article where he says he probably won't show up to SNL?
