PlayStation Experience 2016 Thread: You Know, PSX, We Really Are 2016

I definitely liked this more than E3. Personally, this might be my favorite Sony conference.

I definitely haven't ever been this hyped after any Sony conference that I can remember without a console reveal.

So many amazing games coming out. Sony is on fucking fire.

Incredible conference, especially when you consider how many huge titles we know are coming, that didn't even get a mention.

No Days Gone, no God Of War, no Spiderman, no Kingdom Hearts, FF7 remake, no David Cage or Kojima... the list goes on and on.

No question, this is the strongest line-up they've fielded since the heyday of PS2. I am seriously impressed.

That was quite a cool show, in my opinion better than last year's. The bombs they dropped were at least much more impressive than last year.

One thing, though: where is FFVIIR? Had expected some footage today, but maybe Square wants to show it on its own sometime later to associate it more with the rest of the audience rather than just PS audience?

You are correct, Nomura stated that they are going to make a more designated event the next time they decide to release more info on FF7R. I suspect the same is true for KH3

It's a good conference but very little I will actually buy.

Uncharted DLC,
The Last Guardian
The Last of Us Part 2
Ni No Kuni 2
Horizon
Crash Bandicoot

Are the only ones shown I will buy.

Definitely can be serious because I feel the same here.
This was mostly milking nostalgia of established fans and practically nothing for new customers. If you're happy, be happy.
But it failed to make me a future customer -> bad conference.

Maybe you aren't aware of what PSX is?

So from a more objective standpoint I can see that this was a great conference. For me, though, the only things that got me hyped were UC Lost Legends, Crash Remakes, Wipeout Remaster, Horizon trailer (didn't show much, though), and TLoU 2.

I'm an Xbox owner... always have been. But I gotta say, PlayStation fucking crushed it. Everything looked amazing and they really catered to the fans. I'm switching to PS4.

The Last of Us is still the only game that made me think hard about a choice I made without even knowing it. I try to play games as close to how I feel I'd react to a situation and in the end
when they were about to kill Ellie and I had to save her I shot all three doctors and found afterwards I didn't need to shoot them.

I actually felt really guilty about it since that was my gut reaction. Kinda weird. >_>

Great, more circlejerking by Sony for GAF

TLOU2 looks cool though

Come on bro, I'm more of a Nintendo guy but Sony has been knocking it out of the park the last four press conferences (E3 2015, PSX 2015, E3 2016, PSX 2016). They're killing it, and they absolutely deserve to have the top-selling console right now.

That TLoU 2 trailer looked amazing but after the reveal trailers for TLoU 1 and Uncharted 4, I'll wait for actual gameplay before really judging the graphics. I'm sure it'll be beautiful regardless.

Brother you need some WINDJAMMERS in your life.

Marvel vs Capcom Infinite
The Last of Us 2
Wipeout Omega Collection

The trifecta.

And then on top of that, first gameplay for Ni no Kuni 2, UMvC3/Garou surprise release, NieR Automata release date, Parappa/Loco Roco/Patapon in 4K

This on top of Uncharted 4 Chloe DLC, Vita love, Yakuza localizations up the ass, AC7 first gameplay.

oh and there was a Knack sequel or something

Anyone complaining should be subjected to the TGS keynote for all eternity.

The idea for TLU2 could be:

- Ellie knows Joel lied
- Ellie now is a on a quest to kill all infected as she failed (due Joel) to become a cure for humanity
- Joel has to watch how the daughter she saved, becomes broken while on her quest

All this goes back to the original dilema, did she saved her because of her future, or because of him?

I think it's more that some of the Fireflies murdered the settlement Joel and Ellie stayed in for revenge/taking Ellie by force.

They've got the format spot-on.

I just wish I was interested in more of the comtent on display. Good show, just wasn't personally grabbed by all that much.

The Last of Us Part 2

Ni No Kuni 2
Horizon
Crash Bandicoot

This is how I feel, but with the bolded being the only ones I absolutely know I'll buy.

They really managed to find their groove. No overly long segments on Destiny and COD, just game after game after game.

PSX is becoming like fine wine, gets better with age.

Really glad that Chloe and Nadine are getting the spotlight in the coming DLC/Standalone!! Bodes well for female protagonists in gaming! Them + Ellie in TLOU Part 2 (assuming she'll the main character we play as) can actually make a big impact and join the ranks of Lara Croft, for example, given the size of the franchises/IP's they'll be leading.

Edit: UUhhh! And Aloy too! Are times slowly changing? Seems like it! 3 big games (well.. more like 2 and a half to be fair :p ) with female leads from Sony!

Every Sony conference going forward has to be structured like this. Amazing first 30 minutes, good to great middle bit, amazing last 10 minutes, with a perfect ending

That was a 8 out of 10 conference. They delivered, they truly did. Kept it lean and bullshit free for the most part.

Knack 2 though. :s
