Oh agree the color pages in 7 deadly sins manga are super weird since the characters for the most part look really weird.

I meant to say earlier about 7 deadly sins I like how Elaine is just kinda alive now for no real reason.

Official colourings often bother me at first if they aren't what I imagined but I get over them pretty fast. The only exception to this is Horimiya. Everyone but Hori and Miyamura have weird colour hair for some reason and it bothers me whenever I see them in colour.

Jojo has great colorized versions up to Stone Ocean, those color schemes are perfect.

Araki's actual color pages are...bizarre about color, in a good way.

shhh Graham I'm still compiling this Radiant map
Is anything worse than the color pages in Blame! because I'd really love to see it if so. I don't know how an actual human being looked at those colors and thought "this is acceptable."

Kenji Tsuruta got the best use of color in manga imo.

OK there are actually a lot fewer color pages than I remember there being, but whatevah. Should say a lot that I still remember this garishness despite there being so little of it.

What was the name of that manga(lightnovel?) where a girl goes to a parallel world where they speak Japanese but with a completely different writing system and then tries to decrypt it? I forgot to save it.

KISHUUJUU

Not too sure about this one, while enjoy the art and the premise it's nothing new. But with only two chapters out only time will tell.

Also accurate.

Man, that Death Note thread in OT is giving me a good laugh. Sometimes for a bunch of generally educated people I think that GAF can be pretty insular and not really prone to critical thinking past things that they know or accept. Like no one took a philosophy 101 course or took one and was like "Well those ones are wrong cause I don't agree with them" I just don't know why people don't ask "Why" more often or question things they know or assume to be right. I do that shit all the time. I'm a completely different person now than I was when I was 15. I'm always examining why I believe or do shit.

I just saw that thread.

I'm glad that none of them actually hold positions of power. Hopefully.

Super Danganronpa 2 - Chiaki Nanami's Goodbye Despair Quest 3
Early days yet, but so far this has done a better job of handling the investigation segments than the other DR manga I've read, and that's not just because of the Chiaki focus. Still, for someone who's played the game (and therefore knows the outcome) watching these events play out again isn't particularly gripping. Fortunately there's Chiaki to hold my interest.

Blame has always been an architectural masterpiece

Since the author is an actual architrct

Edit:i missed a kouhai by like 2 pages. At this point i think im an oji-san rather than a senpai

Edit2: also talk about veritas and breaker fucking stupid ending new waves. And i think im the only one here who read wake up deadman, that shit had a its gonna be continued ending too so the author could finish his other work; fairy tale of a demon lord then he didnt even finish it to work on something new

Welcome aboard Black Bishop :3

anyway all the talk about manhwa,,i only read Shin Angyo Onshi and Devil lawyer (same author), and several smut webtoon...(hey it's full colored!) and if we count sun ken rock as manhwa, i've read several chapter too. All of them have awesome artwork, but as far as story goes, it's a bit lacking. Shin Angyo Onshi i remember liking the flashback arc, but disappointed with the ending, same with devil lawyer.

lol Don't get too comfy in here, I'd use it without blinking.

Kengan Asura 42

What they didn't actually say was that the machine measured dick size.

Kinda funny chapter with people misconstruing the dude again but I didn't feel like going back through the chapters to see which fighter is matched up with which since as many people would know by now I am horrendous with names. At least next chapter the tournament officially starts.

Something Something Akashic Records 14+15

This manga is LN as fuck a lot of the time but it has it's own unique way of handling things that makes it entertaining. The fact that he and his old team-mates switched positions with illusion magic was a really well thought-out twist and him figuring out why everything surrounding the situation with the queen was so weird was done pretty well, from noticing the necklace and wondering why the Queen was acting so different, why his mentor said and did what she said and did, the reason the knight guy was so zealously doing this. Overall, pretty well done.

Those student uniforms are still fucking stupid though.

Gintama 615

Jesus, dude's lost like 18 balls by this point in the series.

Kumo desu ga, nani ka? 13-3

For having like 0 MP and SP she sure managed a huge final attack like that. Now we're at an interesting point where these big-ass dudes are coming in while she has 1HP but a class change she can use to refill everything. The problem is she has no idea what her skills/abilities/anything will be after it so she'll essentially be going blind which is super bad against these things.

Hopefully she doesn't turn into the human form that she apparently eventually does. I'm still dreading that, the best part of this manga was that she was a spider.

Alice in Borderland 51-5

Knew it would end up like this. Still, this might have been one of the better side stories. Dude turned a Diamond game into a Heart game. God, I can't even imagine what the King of Heart mindfuck game is.

It's Not My Fault I'm Not Popular 108

Bro, you're getting in over your head.

I mean, the last couple of pages were kinda crap, but the grand final battle was quite awesome actually.
As far as I remember, it's been a few years since I read it. It is actually quite high on my reread list, might just get to it.
But lately I'm also itching to reread One Piece again, so who knows. Don't really have the time for either anyway, sadly.

Hayate No Gotoku 551

On the one hand, the plot moving forward had to happen and it finally ending ain't a bad thing, on the other hand, many good characters and the fun moments have to take a backseat to stuff that has never been all that important in the manga. Tough break.

Tokyo Ghoul: re 104

Raid incoming? Nice all star team he's got going there.

There's just something about Mai Ball that makes me not even blink or care about the fan-service. It's just so fluffy and fun and I love the characters and the art is great and even though everyone's in love with the main dude I just don't care.

It's hard for a manga to achieve that but this is the perfect example I'd say of fan-service that doesn't detract from a work because it's seamless and kept comedic or fun. You can still have shots designed to give boners but it seems more like a coquettish playful wink than a spread labia.

Thats because the concept of mai balls enables the fan service to feels appropriate because its in direct conflict with what the protagonist is trying to accomplish.

It's very tasteful and even though the author has an ass fetish (lol) it doesn't come across as misplaced or disgusting. I think I like it's soccer gameplan more than Area no Kishi even.

More people need to read the Kikaider manga. One of my all time favorites.

I need to get on reading some of Ishinomori's other work as well as some Tezuka.

I just checked out The Promised Neverland due to chance and was pleasantly surprised how well the writing was for the concept. It's definitely a unique take for a manga to go with a surprisingly rational main cast.

That in itself feels very rare nowadays.

I certainly hope the author can it up for future chapters.

The author should center more chapters around different characters. It's interesting to get into the mind of people who aren't Tomoko (especially if they're a grouchy grouch)

Let's end this quickly!
I see what you did there.
It's kinda sad to see how my dealings with PS chapters has changed over this arc. I usually was excited for new chapters, read them carefully, smirked, laughed and was amazed at the ridiculousness of it all.
Now?
I don't particulary care if a week goes by without a chapter, force myself not to skip the majority of the dialouge and just sit there with a bored expression.

Akagi ch290-291

All this for a tile.

Hitoribocchi no OO Seikatsu ch39

Happy birthday! They sure came a long way.

But it was all worth it.

Miss Sunflower ch30

Boy that was some misunderstanding.

Hoshino, Me o Tsubutte. ch9

As expected he's got issues.

Not Lives ch53 (End)

Typical happy ending.

Ultimately it was a relatively entertaining series with some good creativity for the fights, but too by-the-book regarding the characters and story. Not anything spectacular, but it didn't feel like a waste of time either, which for a manga about an online virtual video game is sadly a high enough bar these days.

Dansan Joshi 20

Man, shrines these days try to charge you for everything. Not sure how you lose your clothes by just walking through a crowd though.

Dansan Joshi 21

I didn't know that Santas hibernated under kotatsus. Though its already new years, so the Santa should know its time to go home.

Dansan Joshi 22

You know, this should just be called Dick and Balls the manga.

Dansan Joshi 25.1 - 25.2

Yeah, Dick and Balls the manga is an accurate title.

fleurs n'est pas britannique
Blue Exorcist 85 Woah woah what? Also, a minor thing I noticed, one of those kids looks a lot like Lucifer's female body guards, and by similar notion, they all kind of look like Lucifer too.

Agreed, mostly because after that Tsuki(?)-something manga you guys posted I've truly seen the bad side of ecchi lol

-------------------------------------------

I reread Stone Ocean yesterday/today and had alot of fun with it. Definitely one of my favorite JoJo parts/manga in general
Some thoughts:

1) That stretch of fights between Dragon's Dream and Underworld...
putting-gun-to-head.gif

2) I feel better about the ending looking at it again for a second time. It was so satisfying having Pucci seal his own fate and I almost teared up seeing Emporio visit his friends in the other universe lol. That being said, I think the ending would've been perfect if either one of three things happened:

  • a) Emporio got more focus (Hayato in part 4 was handled better because his life and struggle to take down Kira had more chapters to build up its impact. Emporio on the other hand was always just...there. There was a wasted opprotunity not showing a chapter with Emporio and his mom for example.)
  • b) Jolyne replaces Emporio at the ending (Opposed to the previous parts, especially Part 5, Jolyne had so much great focus as a main character. To have her hit the ending and be the one to face the bittersweet fate of meeting her alt-friends....man...l
    mjcry1.png
. I get that some people would say having all the Joestars "dead", including Jolyne, was necessary, so...)
  • c) Alt-Jolyne recognized anything that just took place (Part 6 mentioned the characters having vauge yet sure feelings on transpiring events so much that having her feel "at peace" or something would both make sense and allow for the ending to incorporate a closing statement from the protagonist despite the bitersweet angle)

3) Its a shame that the concept of Dio's successor ending the Jostars, and the world readers spent so much time with, was "wasted" for a non-series ending. I mean, part 7 and 8 are great, but I don't think another ending of this magnitude can happen in the series again especially because of the split universes and all

Speaking of unnecessary fan-service, a new Sora no Otoshimono chapter came out because it and Judas got a new reprint so I think I'll re-read it to see if it's still one of my favorite manga/it held up over time.

Titties titties titties. Get those titties outta heah!

I'm sure Araki can come up with something crazier than Made in Heaven

The titties are a boobytrap, you're actually getting more feelings and character development!
