Valkyrie Drive -Bhikkhuni- |OT| Weaponized women powered by pleasure

I finished the game and I gotta say I liked it overall. Liked the Phantom system for the most part and I like how you got multiple Drive stages that add to your moveset instead of changing it like in Senran Kagura (in SV I prefer normal Mirai moveset but I got to transform if I want to use her Ninpo). The boss fights, both for the Valkyrie and the gods, need to be worked on if there is a sequel. Also should add neutral triangle combos, didn't like how triangle was only used for charge moves with the exception of Mana. I was trying to get the platinum trophy but just now the game crashed on a loading screen so hard that I thought that my Vita got bricked for a while... I think I'll wait for a patch before I continue.

My favorite characters to play as where Ranka and Viola, I checked online to see if there was a figure of one of them but couldn't find one :(. I guess the VD franchise isn't that popular overall? I expected to at least find a Rinka figure since she's basically the main character of the game but it seems only the main two characters from VD Mermaid got one made.

9646kb, so about 9.6mb. Least it's small. Probably will come back once I finish trophy cleaning Neptune vs. Sega Hard Girls. Should go back to finishing the story instead of focusing on Challenge Mode...

Why the hell doesn't survival mode give XP? That's such a bizarre decision. There's no point in gating it behind story progression if it can't be used to grind.

Also, screw any enemy that can't be affected by Phantom moves. Yes, I'd love boss fights that remove everything interesting and enjoyable about your combat system.

Finally got my copy as well and was surprised by the segmented goodies. But Gal Gun had EVERYTHING in that big oversized box. But THAT wasn't really organized either, so I can't say I was disappointed here as I personally would have had the game case out of the box anyway. Also appreciate the MUCH smaller and durable box these extras come in!
Was Gal Gun in a "home made" box? Curious to if i should continue to buy these editions if its basically just game + extra. I much more prefer official limited editions where everything comes in a sealed box directly from the publisher.

Glad you liked it. We took the feedback from the Gal Gun Collector's Edition and this sealed complete "collector's box" like VDrive is the direction we want to head in with our collector's editions. Root Letter's Pen Pal Edition is also the same deal.

Is there any chance you'll be getting additional stock of the two LE versions?

The satisfaction of a job well done. But no, the trophy for completing Challenge mode will be unlocked simply by passing every challenge regardless the results.

Well, I haven't checked if the typos during the story were fixed but I can confirm they fixed the weird wording on the Results Screen.

And looking around I found this

It made me laugh.

Talking about fixes, I hoped that the patch would've fixed Rinka and Ranka Connect form hands looking all glitched and Rankas hands phasing through her gauntlets but it's still present. Is this also a localization glitch or is it also in the Japanese version?

Aww damn, I want that but I can't justify buying the game twice...

Ah don't feel bad, counting the japanese versions I've bought the game four times: Japanese LE, Digital american version, American Liberator Edition and Japanese Re-release.

I just found this impressions from a blogger of Bhikkhuni's cast

Rinka, Manpukumaru, and Koharu started as swell folks and continued to be the pillars of the cast’s and player’s morale. Manpukumaru must be protected.

Ranka has made an olympic tier effort to transform from a sure-fire spark-plug who won’t back down and won’t doubt the people around her into the wishiest washiest wuss around who can’t seem to do anything unless Rinka is with her or agrees with her.

Viola went from arrogance personified with a face you want to make you its bitch as much as you want to punch it…to a brash yet approachable friend who is super fucking gay for Koharu (Koharu being quietly yet obviously gay for her in return).

And topping even Ranka’s upsetting 180 is Mana, who went from Bhikkuni’s resident sweetheart shaped like a friend to power hungry backstabber who spent every night developing a resting bitchface so she could properly let everyone know who will be winning this year’s “Biggest Asshole” award.

Pretty accurate

Yeah, that description of Mana is pretty damn accurate. I'm kind of shocked you still play as her, she seems like the type who'd become a villain later in the game.

Costume Set 3 is up, contains:

•Rinka's Favorite Swimsuit
•Ranka's Favorite Swimsuit
•Momo's Favorite Swimsuit
•Manpukumaru-chan's Favorite Swimsuit
•Viola's Favorite Swimsuit
•Mana's Favorite Swimsuit
•Koharu's Favorite Swimsuit
•Echigoya's Favorite Swimsuit

Accessory Set 3 is also up, has:

- Sabre
- Ribboned Giant Syringe
- Chinese Fan

PSN might still be updating, no idea why the chinese fan is the only one out of everything that's available separately.

What the bloody hell, finally decide to come back to this, & all of a sudden, the 20th chapter gets a difficulty spike, especially the last one. Worse yet, I had to use my potions (finally) on the previous chapters. Even more annoying, if you fail, you have to start at the beginning & run back up to where the boss is.

Where's the best place to refill your potions?

Edit: UGH, FINALLY. Took a few tries, but got lucky & was able to beat it.....& now it's telling me I have to get SS rank on specific missions to get some new content.....

Also, that patch did jack, because I got the infinite loading screen when exiting the shop.

Final bosses in this game don't fuck around eh? I like it though, game was too easy before.

You can buy potions with Etch at 3000 a pop.

Getting SS rank on those missions opens four new drives that lead to the true ending of the game.

True, the patch didn't fix all the issues but made the game much more stable. Personally I haven't had issues anymore since it was released.

Beat this last week.

While I do think there is some good stuff here, I ultimately like Senran's battle system, characters, tits and ass and humor significantly more. I never felt comfortable with the way the battle system felt and the jumping felt awful because of the way phantom dashing worked which I never really mastered and to be quite frank there felt like there was no real need to master it cause I sure got through it fine. Dressing room fucking crashed every other time I used it which was annoying as all hell. As for the lewd, I mean yea it is there but Senran blows it out of the water from the stripping attacks, the variety of girls, the selection of clothes and underwear. Like the comparison isn't even fair.

I don't regret the purchase but I'm not sure I would buy a second game.

Finished getting the SS ranks, thankfully wasn't too bad since it was just a handful of levels & I already had a couple of them already taken care of. Helps that my main fear, how much damage you took, was almost not an issue because of how high all my characters were in level, meaning their defense made it so I took almost no damage at all.

Debating if I should go back & grind considering I need to max out liberator & extar for the trophies. Any levels that'd be best for EXP?

If you're only aiming for the trophies, getting just one Extar and one Liberator to max level is enough (although you might as well max everyone if you're going for the five mill trophy)

The best levels to grind for experience are Order 20-A and 20-B. 20-B gives the most experience in the whole game but is longer while 20-A gives around 10k less exp but is shorter.

Honestly have to wonder what some of these devs are thinking when they make a grind/time based trophy that requires you to do far more than you need to to complete everything else in the game. Why does this 5mil xp trophy exist? Why is the only real choice for grinding xp doing the same mission 100+ times? Do they want people to hate the game by the time they're done?

Also is there a preferred group for doing the final 2 challenge ranks? Because the character fights at least seem like they would be really bad as close range considering how much dmg the girls do if they hit you. Or is it just a git gud if you haven't already?

You think the 5 mil trophy is bad? Around a third of Uppers (Takaki's following game) are entirely luck based Now that is a slap in the face of the player.

With enough practice every couple is effective to tackle the challenge battles but Momo and Manpukumaru have a slight edge over everyone else. Momo's attack have great range and can suck foes in plus, she's among the strongest characters in the game. Paired her with Manpukumaru's attack boost and she will mow through most foes easily.

It's the same with the requirement in God Eater Resurrection to complete 500 missions with a weapon type. It's ridiculously over the top for the amount of missions in the game and also at odds with the idea that you should be changing your load-outs based on the enemies you will be facing.

On another note, I tried the Phantom Delude challenge for about an hour today and I think its safe to say that I am giving up on the platinum for this game. The Phantom Delude mechanic is poorly implemented in the first place and that challenge is specifically designed to force you to be aggressive rather than pick your moments. I won't be bothering to hit the money or XP trophies either at this point so once I finish the last two story missions I'm done with this game. It's too bad because I liked a lot of things about it, but anything beyond this just feels like wasting my time.

Huh, what?

The only thing you need to do is practice until you get the timing down. Kongo's attacks have the biggest telling signs from all the Pillar Gods, making easier to pick one attack and focus Deluding that one. In my case I found the jumping stomp to be the easiest of the bunch.

I don't think any are really missable as you can just revisit any stage you want with any character after beating it (in fact, some stages require you replay it as a different character to unlock the Chest Guard).

Also, remember to only spend 100 coins or whatever on the lottery, there's a trophy that requires you spend a ton on it & most likely, you'll get everything before reaching the amount, so you'll have to grind for money to spend on the lottery to get the trophy.

Marvelous tweet prompted someone to make a comparison between Bhikkhunni and Sk2's character models and the results are pretty interesting.

SK2's are the same model scaled up and down depending on the character while Bhikkhuni's actually have enough details to make them unique to each character. Pretty amazing for a developer whose previous credits are mobile games and Bon Appetit.
