FINALLY completed the Sealed Steyliff dungeon. Took me 4 and a half hours. Holy shit...

I also drained my inventory of curatives.... :(

Some memories of Steyliff. The photos say it all. D:

Yeah I think I'll skip Stelyiff and Costlemark sealed. One too long and the other too annoying lol

I still have to do Balouve and the sewers one (can't remember the name now).

So Cartanica isn't just a background, it's mostly rendered and the cars even react to the player like in Lucis.
Well, I don't think it was intended to be more than filler background. It's so similar to the desert area in Leide that it would've been redundant and a waste of time to make it fully explorable too.

Bahamut has female eyes
Bahamut chose Noctis as the Chosen One
Aulea disappeared after Noctis' birth and we don't know how/why

Guys what if Bahamut is Noctis' mother

I would have loved a proper Middle East inspired desert location :( *pines for FFXII remake*

After 46 levels and 40 hours I've just finished the game. It's probably the most fun I've had with a Final Fantasy since VII, so I consider it one of my favourites and one of the most memorable too.

I also wondered why almost everyone kept saying "despite its deep flaws" whenever talking about the game, but having finished it now I really understand where people are coming from. To me, it's so ambitious but it isn't able to finish all of what it set out to do. In some cases not even close.

Just some notes in my head that I'd like to jot down.

Open to interpretation whether the bros died. Supposedly if you believe the leaks Ardyn's final form got cut. Yeah Ravus was a disappointment but at least they're going to be adding more cutscenes with him.

Agni, though!

Only thing about Agni that looked Middle Eastern were the insurgent-types. The slum canyon area looked more inspired by Bralizian favela shanty dwellings. The futuristic city in the distance, to me, looked like a stereotypical "futuristic utopia".

I kinda figured it was, given that when you peer off the high train station, you can see all those active little cars driving around and visual outposts and gas stations. As the leaker said, a lot of areas were intended to be more explorable, but were cut down considerably. How much you wanna bet that the whole "Fodina Caestino" thing was going to be an actual trek to that dungeon, not an instant warp (like in the final game)?

Please get Agni as far away from Tabata as possible kthxbye
He's the head of the Agni/WITCH project at BD2, though, and even announced the last tech demo personally at last year's Microsoft Build conference.

Of course, that doesn't mean he would be the director of a possible game based on AP. Actually I think he'd be perfect for the Producer role while someone else directs.

Yeah, you're right.

Agni's Philosophy aka. WITCH Tabata's next project, mark my words

I genuinely quite strongly believe that Tabata's division will actually end up doing something with the ideas behind Agni and FF16 will come from the 14 Business Division (which, if you've been watching, has been on a large hiring spree looking for people with non-MMO experience - but also, curiously, still with some online multiplayer experience).

Yup, been saying the same for a while. Kagari mentioned BD5 hiring for something big for a few months now.

I'm one of the biggest defenders of this game's plot, but its storytelling was almost abysmally bad. Too many underused characters, things told to you in loading screens, or happening off screen, only to later be told to you by secondary characters.

Lol, after all that you still defend the game's plot? I'm curious as to how much they'll actually end up adding through patches to fix some of this stuff. I know they will be adding more Ravus stuff for free. Each of the party member DLC won't be released all at once right? I mean they'd be better off releasing them all at the same time to fill in those story moments that felt super egregiously cut like Gladio leaving the party, the whole damage to Iggy's eyes, and Promptos disappearance/MT backstory.

I just finished the story and while I am so terribly behind in the spoiler conversation, three things have really struck me about the game:

-Despite it's narrative flaws (of which there are many), this really is one of the more tragic Final Fantasy stories. There really is no happy ending for our heroes and the theme of sacrifice is very prevalent from Regis, Luna, and Noctis (it's just not very well conveyed at times). The after credit sequence with the dawn and Noctis/Luna brings a glimmer of light, but for me it was more of an allusion of what could have been rather than what was (or maybe rather their peace in the afterlife). We've seen sacrifice in past FF games like Aerith, Tidus, etc., but this was very central and it's conveyance is such that the player is taken on a journey to the end, but without being able to feel the relief of the other side of the sacrifice. I appreciated this angle, even if it is poorly executed in parts.

-As I see it mentioned a bit, Luna's involvement and her death could have been so much more powerful. Despite not having much attachment to her character, the CGI scene with her goodbye is powerful nonetheless in its imagery, and "Luna's Theme" and "Prayer de Luna" were poignantly beautiful in those scenes. I imagine these songs giving me some goosebumps hearing them years from now similar to the way Aerith Theme or "To Zanarkand" does now and then. I just wish her character had been developed more and we had more attachment to her childhood with Noct. Would have been incredibly more tragic.

-I felt really depressed Chap 9 onwards, and a lot of it was because of the way the party was falling apart. Though we get the short end of the stick on Ignis' blindness, I felt sad for him as a character when he was struggling in Chap 10. Gladiolus' resentment was a little overplayed, but it made me feel conflicted on the party dynamics. Similarly, once Prompto fell off the train, I was concerned for where the story was taking him. The reunion in Chap 14 of everyone and the after credit camp fire scene were a perfect conclusion to the relationship building I felt with that party. They were my bros and I cared for their characters (can't wait for their DLC stories).

I have a lot more bouncing around my noggin but need to dwell on it more. I loved the world, the lore, the main party, and some of the story beats. I mourn how much was untold (or poorly told) due to schedule, DLC plans, or whatever else. At the end of the day I am glad I got to experience another FF world to be immersed in, and it gives me hope for the franchises future. Let's just not rewrite and rush the next one...

Adding Ravus cutscenes could also help to flesh out the Empire (probably the game's weakest story element outside of Luna's problematic character), assuming they're intelligent about it.

They should also straight up add a Codex to the game. While you never want to tell a story through menus (like FFXIII), the story is such a mess that a Codex would help alleviate a lot of the problems (though not in the most ideal way possible).

FINAL FANTASY XV - Glitch: Flying Boat

And glitch at the train station in Chapter 10 to get out and into the desert area below:

FINAL FANTASY XV Cartanica Glitch

Thanks to Mognet's @Storm.

Been looking at some out of bounds glitches. Peetty cool stuff but sadly none Insomnia stuff that I can find. Seems you can't enter it at all from the open world (just infinite load time when you get close) and I don't know if you can get past the walls from the last chapter. Also not seen any World of Ruin out of bounds.

There is a video of going to Angelgard Island and there is some kind of monument and weird sword things there and I can't remember if they were in the cutscene or not.

I'm probably slow to notice this, but it seems they tweaked the final campfire scene.

Before, when Noctis says "You guys... are the best," he was still sitting, and the camera panned upwards into the night sky as he said his final words. Now, he stands up and looks at each bro, one by one, and says "What can I say," struggling to find the words, before saying, "You guys..." and then it cuts to black, before "...are the best."

Both versions are great, but I think I prefer the new version since you get more glimpses of the bros about to cry. I want to hug Prompto. :-(

edit: There's an idea for something they can patch in. A "Hug Prompto" option.

How is that even possible. Does no one ever have brothers or sisters?

I think of it as not just a bloodline but also inheriting the power of the king. Let's say Noct had 3 brothers. When Noct is chosen as the king, the power of the king transfers to him, and the others are locked out of the power. Once he took that power, it's bound to him and the brothers can't reclaim it unless they do the pilgrimage or whatever again, but since the artifacts are consumed into Noct and the ring broken, the pilgrimage isn't possible.

I farmed enough medals from the Monster Arena/Totomostro to get the Magitek Generator. It only took 6 hours to farm 3.6 million medals. >_> Its pointless if you already have the Regalia F, but in NG+, I'll have infinite gas and that is priceless. At least that's what I tell myself through the whole thing.

I'm not doing any of the sealed dungeons. Its repetitive running down the same tunnel to fight stronger enemies.
I'm done with the game. I give it a 7.8/10. Still enjoyed the game and I wished you could explore the latter areas and other characters had more screen time like Ravus and Iedolas. Would have like to see an older Daemon Hunter Iris too. I also wanted to know what the guys been doing for 10 years.
Luna's character just wasn't really enough to go on. There just wasn't enough character development for her. I wished we could have ran into Cor on our adventures later on.
At the end I really did feel like the bond between all of them have gotten stronger even if parts weren't conveyed very well.

I might play it again if the dlc is interesting enough.

Has this been shared yet? :)

C1Cl10xUQAAB4HS.jpg:orig

From the official FFXV Twitter.

This reminds me, that I look much more fondly back on games where no major characters die (or are severely hurt like Ignis). Everytime I see Noctis and Luna (and Ignis) happy and alive like this my heart sinks a little.
Replayability of a game is also heavily affected by that. If I know a game ends bad for certain characters I just don't want to play it again. Right now I am in my second playthrough because I enjoy the gameplay but I don't really want to progress any further from that point because I know things get really f***** up now. One time experiencing this is alright to pull at my heartsrings...but multiple times? :/ I hope the next Final Fantasy isn't as tragic. I will be able to enjoy it much more beyond just my very first playthrough.

So many gorgeous characters in this game. Luna is especially beautiful. I love her hairstyle, dress and shoes (both default and for the summoning rite).

I also find Ifrit to be very aesthetically pleasing, especially his intricate antlers. Truly Amano art come to life.

Those shoes haunt my nightmares, they're so ugly. The Leviathan dress is nice though, and her hair is pretty. I wish her face wasn't so generic.

This is how it was in 1.02

I bet the character dlc will be about:
Gladio - wherever the fuck he ran off to that one chapter
Prompto - what happened after he fell off the train
Ignis - probably how he lost his eyesight

Luna used to be even more gorgeous.

2014-early 2016:

Compared to what we got:

Granted, it makes sense if she was sick the entire game.

I'm lowkey kinda pissed that they had Florence create the greatest lyrical theme song in Final Fantasy history (Too Much is Never Enough) and only feature it in the post-game main menu credits. That could have been incredible if it played during the ending somewhere tbh.

Seeing all those Insomnia pictures does raise an interesting point: how was the city being powered by electricity? Things seemed rather grim there for a fully functional power plant. And Lestalleum is way too far to power it.

Kingsglaive Luna is the best although I appreciate how she looks tired and dying in the game since she is tired and dying. Even thought I wasn't a Stella fanatic fan, I will say there was something about her original face design that was really appealing, especially in cg. I don't understand why Nomura thought it wasn't 'pretty' enough and changed it.

I prefer the version we got. The 2014 model you posted looks like a generic doll-face like Stella.

I couldn't pick a favorite, but I definitely like how Luna looks in Kingsglaive, too. Like a haunted Taylor Swift. There are certain angles where she's just breathtaking. Amazing how far CGI has come.

Well, Ardyn was in Insomnia with the Crystal. Maybe the Crystal keeps the lights on? Seems like something they could easily explain away if they wanted.
