How about a good story. ROTTR's narrative was a clusterfuck of bad.
Lime, I can see some of where you're coming from, but that "cut-scenes and acting" bullet point is just so vapid it makes your whole assertion weaker. Modern games feature story scenes with actors. The cinematography styles don't even have much overlap considering ways it would make sense to. You really need to clarify that.
There is literally a fast travel system where you can go to any previous area in the game, at any time, often because of metroidvania-esque things where you're accessing previously inaccessible areas.
I would prefer a Tomb Raider 2 Anniversary remake. I was disappointed we didn't get that after enjoying TR1 Anniversary so much.
Quick question. Is the latest Tomb Raider as violent as the first reboot game. Turned it off after a while due to the weird execution kills and constant shooting.
Go the Hitman route. Make it episodic. Make each episode one tomb with tons of paths and secret areas.
I'm playing it right now, and I think better side missions would be great if they're going to do them. There was one where I simply packed up supplies (pressed Square), and then delivered them to another camp (run to other camp and press square). It was such a bad uninspired quest, and it's not exactly amazing to traverse the sandbox they give you. I'm just running around back and forth getting some coin caches
It makes me realize the linear nature of Uncharted is a strength. You go from place to place, and you can try to find some stuff to unlock cheats, but all the fights and arenas are more well-crafted. I'm glad TR didn't try to out-set piece Uncharted, as well.
But seriously: if I'm going to have side missions, make them at least fun. A lot of these -- run here, kill pigeon, run back -- are not good.
A Tomb Raider game, not an Uncharted game.
A Tomb Raider game, not an Uncharted game.
A Tomb Raider game, not an Uncharted game.
A Tomb Raider game, not an Uncharted game.
Play FFXV Pitioss dungeon
Realise that is the true embodiment and current update of Tomb Raider PS1 era tomb designs.
Make a game with tombs like that with a goofy plot.
Chuck out the pseud-uncharted style they have going on.
No thanks. I played Anniversary and it was boring and completly unatmospheric.
I just want better Mythical beeings. 1 had good one but 2 didn´t. Also add more action, more gore and more Survival feeling please.
Anything else was perfect, in my eyes it´s literally the better version of uncharted.
It's just a general assertion that I didn't think needed elaboration if the person is familiar with the various levels of quality between different cutscenes in different games. E.g. you can clearly see a difference between cutscenes made in TR2013 or ROTR versus Legend or Anniversary -> Temporal length of cutscenes, use of facial animation capture, voice and motion actors, lighting changes, scripted action events, narrative and gameplay purpose of cutscenes, player involvement. I.e. there are clear technical differences in the use of cutscenes between cinematic shooters like Uncharted or the Tomb Raider reboot and something like Tomb Raider Anniversary. That's the point of saying "heavier emphasis on the use of cutscenes and acting"
For example, in ROTR, the entire level in London or wherever it is, is one big cutscene with no input from the player whatsoever. They made all these assets, all this art, all this motion capture, all these actors, all these technical aspects, yet not one second is spent playing it or even moving Lara. That's a very different approach to the use of cutscenes than before or in other "less cinematic" games out there.
Literally the part in that dunegon with theI haven't thought of this.
You are completely right, now that I think about it, that is definitely how a Tomb Raider game should be and look in current systems.
That was the best level/dungeon I've ever played, perfect.
Yes, please.
A Tomb Raider game, not an Uncharted game.
I disagree... I think Tomb Raider did Uncharted better than Uncharted did Uncharted!!! ...and this is coming from someone who LOVES Uncharted.
I hope for a Coke Classic situation.
So basically what you said is that they did an Uncharted.
A Tomb Raider game, not an Uncharted game.
Get rid of the "DING DING DING! HEY IDIOT, THERE'S A SUPER ULTRA-SECRET TOMB CLOSEBY. IF YOU LOOK REALLLLLLY HARD, YOU MIGHT JUST BE ABLE TO RAID A TOMB!"
Like, fuck man. Cut this shit out.
Also, make it a Tomb Raider game, not an Uncharted game.
A Tomb Raider game, not an Uncharted game.
I TR2 you fight a goddamn dragoon.
If you want gore, there's enough shootbang games out there.
A Tomb Raider game, not an Uncharted game.
Nope, they are probably working on a reboot of Legacy of Kain where he is constantly telling himself, "You can do it Kain, you can drink the blood."
It's been leaked that CD is moving to a new IP and Eidos Montreal doing most of TR3.
We are getting that. You can shoot endangered species, it's got more puzzle solving and platforming then Uncharted and they haven't stupidly taken away the. What more do you want?supernatural
