I always knew that.

This however, blows my mind.

Sonic handles my blue balls
Don't know what's worse to discover years later:

  • This
  • Finding out how to control the rotating teeth in the Carnival stage of Sonic 3.
  • Finding out forward->forward->punch by Axel in Streets of Rage kills everything.

Whatever. Not knowing helped me develop problem solving skills as a kid.

What the Fuck? I have been playing Mario World for over 20 years and did not know this. In fact I refuse to belive this is true.

Your reserve tanks must be empty, you must have at least 10 missiles, 10 super missiles and 11 power bombs and your energy must be under 50. Once this is done, set a power bomb, but when you do, hold down L, R, Down and X and keep it held down until Samus becomes surrounded in a ball of energy, which will re-fill all your energy tanks.

I can't be the only one trying these out in Mario Maker only to be disappointed in that you can't create steps and triangle blocks nor walk on P-Switches as Yoshi...

That's Nintendo for you. Samus and Link tend to also have "secret moves" in a lot of their games.

I can't even imagine all the secret stuff you'll be able to do in BotW. These details are really what separate Nintendo from everyone else.

Well Miyamoto has been quoted saying there are secrets in Zelda 1 people still haven't found out.

In Super Mario World, if Yoshi licks up a P-Switch after it has been pressed and spits it out fast enough, a Cheep-Cheep will spawn alongside the P-Switch.

This is more just a memory glitch. Yoshi has all sorts of glitchy shit about him, which has been exploited to spectacular results.

The crystal flash thing is shown off in the super metroid attract video, but apart from seeing it for two seconds it doesn't explain how to do it.

More great stuff from that blog:

In Wario World, there is a money bag constantly suspended in the air between Wario and the camera. This is in fact the money bag that falls down onto the screen during a Game Over, which the game has loaded at all times for optimization reasons.

As you progress through the Donkey Kong Country overworld, the Gangplank Galleon draws closer and closer with every new unlocked area of the island.

In Super Mario Galaxy, whenever Mario drowns in a swamp, his hand reaches out from under the surface before being sucked in. However, since Mario’s head is so big, he cannot raise his hand above the surface without his head being still visible. To solve this, the game simply shrinks Mario’s head so it doesn’t interfere with the animation.

This one isnpretty cool both because not only is it shown in the attract video for Super Metroid but in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, it's pretty much the same concept behind Zero Suit Samus' final smash.

You sure showed us!

ok, another secret, since i have never seen this on the internet:

press a with the cape next to a set of yellow blocks(the blocks have to be at least 2x2) and press against the set of blocks:
you will fall through the floor OR you can walk through the set of blocks without destroying them.

since its a super glitchy one and its hard to control, i never saw it done in one of the AGDQ.

please dont tell me, that this is also a secret.

SupperMarioBroth is a fantastic blog. There's stuff like this on there constantly. The one from the other day about how AI in Mario Kart will clip through bananas if they're far away from you was amazing.

I think my favorite part about this is that the current player is in 8th, making it even harder for them to catch up.

Goddamn Super Mario World has surprised me twice already in 2017, first it was discovering that choco island 2 has an mandatory cape section tucked away in it and now this power of mario's sliding cheeks taking down ghosts and buzzsaws.

Now that gangplank galleon detail, I can't deal with this information overload!

Yep, that's one of the ones I was thinking about when I wrote my post.
