Nintendo Switch |DT2| No excellent soul is exempt from a mixture of madness

Which of these definitely """real""" leaks are you most hyped for?

While this is true, I'm expecting the 3rd party games to be much more technically inferior which kills my desire to play them on the Switch.
But that has never not been the case with handheld versions of console games :p Yet, sometimes, they even end up being better than "the real thing" despite technical inferiority.

How long is the event? It starts at 6 am my time and i have to go to work at 7:30.Will i miss the big last reveal???

So with Resident Evil 7 being my most anticipated game currently, here's a random theory.

Capcom was doing a lot of media stuff for RE7 in December, but have been mostly quiet in January. Here we are 13 days from when RE7 is supposed to launch, and they are being quiet as a mouse on the game right now.

What if the reason they're being so strangely quiet when the game is out in less than two weeks is because RE7 will be at the Switch reveal with a new trailer? That would make a lot more sense in context to why they're being so quiet right now, more so than they were being in December, and would be good exposure for them if that was their plan.

Just throwing that out there for a potential Switch reveal. If you've been following RE7, you probably know how oddly quite Capcom have been despite the fact the game is less than two weeks away from launch.

I wouldn't be expecting too many triple AAA releases, I mean I expect the install size of RE7 to be over 20GB, I can't imagine carts of that size to be that cheap.

He's probably just saying the name of the games.

Oh my God, this 4Chan leak is terrible. Could somebody please find 10k? Get hold of him, so I can make sense of all this. Where is 10? Help me 10k!

Who else isn't interested in third party games for the Switch? I have a PlayStation 4 Pro for those needs. First party games though? I'll buy them all.

If available on Switch, I would only get the following type of third party multiplatform games on Switch:

- Local Multiplayer (like Rocket League)
- Long RPG's (stuff that takes a long time to finish since the portable aspect would be nice for grinding)

Anything else I would stick to Ps4/PC.

The is no way the title for the Splatoon sequel is "Splatoon 2". Nintendo gives sequels subtitles these days. The is also no way the title wouldn't be nailed down this close to launch. Fake!

She didn't say either way if it was a game she leaked or something someone else did. I think people just jumped to conclusions.

Why would she correct something Laura said though? That would be just ... rude. As they usually corroborate the info they have and they usually correct or update their own info.

I want to play Skyrim at work. I don't really care if it looks worse, as I have a nice PC for third party stuff that I want to look nice. I don't care for the idea of convincing myself that some janky ass console version of a game is the optimal way to play it--give me a way to play that's different from how I can experience it elsewhere.

I've recently sold my Xbox One and likely won't ever buy a PS4. Those consoles are boring as they offer substandard versions of games I can play on my computer. The Switch offers something inherently different, portability, it's why I'm excited for it.

Time will tell but I feel Skyrim is going to perform terribly on the Switch due to hardware specs.

I sometimes like to play stuff that allows me to turn my brain off and just watch the insanity that's playing out in front of me.

I really liked bother PXZ games and hope they continue the series. Or even better, have a Nintendo themed spin off with every character imaginable.
The Cross games are usually a lot of work, and PxZ2 didn't sell so well in North America. There's a bigger chance of another Endless Frontier at this point than a PxZ3. Or, they could even scrap that and send Reiji and Xiaomu to the main SRW universe.

If you have a laptop which is capable of gaming it can easily cover these games.

I'd also add sports game to your list (I love being able to play FIFA on my laptop while on a train)

Pretty awful idea to launch it a week or two after (before?) FE Fates. :(

Man if a splatoon 2 announced with a 250 price at launch it would already be a great night for me. Hearing that it's not splatoon 2 killed a bit of my hype.

Plot twist: Zelda isn't a port. We're getting two Zelda games in March.

No need to be facetious. Mario Kart is unique in that way.

So it's not unprecedented then and the game is recent. Splatoon's sequel could very easily carry a 2 behind its name. I'm not saying it will, but that's not a good enough reason to disregard the rumor.

On my ride in to work this morning, I thought about being o-so-clever by wishing everyone a Merry Switchmas; but, you all had to poop on my parade.

Oh well. I do wish everyone a fantastic final few hours on the "Final Day". This is the golden time when the Switch of our dreams is at full blossom and our imaginations can run wild. No matter how great of a platform it will be, the reality of Switch will never reach the zenith that it is at right now in our imaginations.

I think it's going to be a fantastic platform and we are finally getting what we all wanted - all of Nintendo's development resources focused on a unified device. No longer will there be droughts like there was before as Ninty can keep enough meat on the bone by themselves. I honestly believe the Switch is going to radically change the game development landscape from this point forward. SoC means guaranteed backwards compatibility for however long Nintendo wants as long as they are willing to make sure "Switch 2.0" has enough horsepower to emulate Switch 1.0 and since 1.0 is going to be able to run the entire Nintendo catalog, that's a lifetime of classics. The Switch paradigm shift will likely also mean that future iterations of the platform in theory could automatically upscale as performance increases since it will run via emulation. Imagine a future where each new version brings CEMU like enhancements to the games you'll begin buying in a few weeks.

Ultimately, if this approach proves itself to be as viable as we think it will be, the other players in the industry will have to follow suit.

Enjoy the last few hours of the beautiful bliss of anticipation everyone... then let the bloodbath begin fighting for preorders.
