You are the exception, not the rule.
Do you have any statistics to support this definitive statement?

The Wii was the most used console for Netflix for a time, let's not forget.
Do you have any statistics to support this definitive statement?
Yeah. To me this just signals one of two things, and neither of them are good:
1.) This thing just really isn't ready for prime time yet. There's been little focus on the OS. the online infrastructure doesn't really seem in place yet. Day one launch lineup is pretty anemic. If feels like this device could really benefit from another delay, but they need it and Zelda out to generate revenue before the end of the fiscal year.
Personally, I'm leaning more on point the first, as the second one just strikes me as too bizarre to be plausible.
This is exactly the point. My PS4 is constantly on because the family is watching Netflix on it or Blu rays or playing games. If it was just used for gaming, It wouldn't be turned on nearly as much.
Yep... My PS4/Xbox One wouldn't be used even half as often if it weren't for streaming apps. The Switch is not yet confirmed to go without these apps entirely, but anyone saying they don't make a difference is crazy.
The only device I always carry with me is my phone. I don't own an iPad or tablet, so if the Switch used some of the features from those devices it'd likely motivate me not to purchase them and be happy with my Switch.I think people are overestimating the importance of this. People carry smart phones with them everywhere, having a switch won't stop that. I browse the internet more on my smart phone than anything else.
I am also fortunate enough that my phone has a 5.5" screen (so not much smaller than the switch) so If I want to watch netflix, I can watch it on that (i wont)
Anything people want the switch to do other than console gaming can be done on another device they ALWAYS carry with them.
You are the exception, not the rule.
I'm talking specifically about your browser usage. Like...why?
Then again I'm not sure if that softmod that goes through the browser exploit logs time as browser usage. That's the only explanation I can think of here.
But you have a PS4 if you want Netflix, if you then have a PS4 and a Switch why is it important/terrible if this doesn't utilise it?
"We don't need [feature/application] on our system because everything else has it" isn't exactly a good selling point.
"we're making a home console that you can take on the go" is the only selling point this needs imo
That worked brilliantly for Vita right...
It'll show up eventually. Right now Nintendo needs to focus on the games aspect. The media apps can come later.
If my phone has Netflix, games, better battery life and voice chat, why don't I just stay there?
Don't pretend the Vita was a proper home console experience like the Switch will be. It didnt even have HDMI out.
Because your phone doesn't play home console games?
If you then say it's not worth it, then a dedicated gaming device clearly isn't what you wanted if you can make do with mobile games (imo)
Neither does Switch has power of PS4. It will get downgraded ports. Same thing PS3 - VITA. Vita got downgraded ports like UMVC3(ran amazing), SFxTekken,NFS Most Wanted,PS All Stars, Mortal Kombat 9, Injustice,CoD(not exactly port ), FIFA etc. All looked like downgraded PS3 ports.
It ran a previous gen games just fine(PS2).
Whats difference exactly? Switch runs downgraded ports of current gen. Also can have graphics previous games built up(Wii U-PS3 gen)
Whats difference exactly?
I

The fact that the switch can actually be used as a home console when the Vita could not?-
Fair enough then but i doubt most will get hype for playing games at 720p(mostly) in 2017. We will see.
"we're making a home console that you can take on the go" is the only selling point this needs imo
If people are looking at the switch, it's because they want a console gaming machine they can play at home or away. Suddenly realising it doesn't have netflix isn't going to make them stop and say "hang on, I'll make do with an ipad" because it then won't give them the console gaming experience they were interested in in the first place.

(Mostly) is pulled out of your arse right seeing as most content will be displayed at 900p and above (?)
The whole "play at home or away tablet" concept is precisely why it's a bummer switch lacks features like netflix, music streaming and a web browser. It would make the device more useful. It would be cool to watch netflix on TV than remove it from the cradle and continue watching on the go. Or how about at the airport pausing Zelda and checking your email on a single device? It's such an obviously cool differentiating feature that Nintendo decided to neglect.
I see bunch of 720p games outside of Wii U ports.Aka : Splatoon2,Mario etc.. I am not sure what you trying to imply here.
So what? I have Netflix on my phone, my PC, my Xbox One, my PS4.
I don't think I need another device that has Netflix...
Read the thread for reasons.I really don't get why this matters at all. Don't people already have enough devices that can play Netflix? Like, is someone going to awaken from their cryostasis and buy ONLY a TV and a Nintendo Switch and be like... "Awwww, DAMN IT NINTENDO why can't I play this new NETFLIX thing?"
Hell, my fridge can play Netflix. It can't. But I'm sure GE is working on it.
It'd be great, but then I can't imagine everyone with an ipad or a smartphone that does that deciding they no longer need it because they have a feature packed switch.
erm, gonna need to see your source here

here and their channel have more video of analysis on those games but whatever dont derail topic.

You ≠ others.
There are various reasons people want Netflix on Switch.
If it doesn't apply to you, good, but don't be suprised that it might be different for others.

A person waking up from cryostasis wouldn't buy a Switch when they realize that there are literally hundreds of devices that do far more for far less money. The Switch is quickly becoming Wii-U 2.0 - Spend the money if you want to play Nintendo exclusives. Period. Only this time it doesn't even play Netflix.
Oh come on. You're telling me that people that have a netflix subscription are going to be walking around with a Nintendo Switch and not a smart phone with much better battery life?
Priorities. If Nintendo focused on the priorities on a game console (playing games?) that's all that matters to me.
For me personally, this is a good thing. Less things cluttering my home screen. More development time (hopefully) into things that matter on a gaming console.

Okay, that's fine in my opinion. Isn't that the point of buying a game console? Did people expect their SNES to play tapes as well?A person waking up from cryostasis wouldn't buy a Switch when they realize that there are literally hundreds of devices that do far more for far less money. Do you really care? Anyone in this thread? For real?
You don't have 97 devices that play Netflix already? Even my mother has a netflix redundancy problem.
Honestly, you people make me sick. SICK! To my stomach and back.
