They're either showing too much, not showing enough, or showing the wrong kind of stuff apparently. Could've fooled me, I think their marketing has been fine so far. We make a big deal out of preordering a game being dumb and then complain when we don't have pre release footage. The shit you guys wanna see is coming before the game launches, I don't get why this is an issue for some of you guys other than its just for the sake of argument.

Sadly, the happy medium will be different for everyone.
Okay? So you can spam e.g. MegaSanicPunch back to back to back to... or did they replace GCD with skill specific CD's? If first then sure you can go very ham with skill spam and have gameplay around that, but if skills have noticeable individual CD's then gunplay will take over with so limited active skill amount.

Not to sound down on the game but its been five years and the only gameplay we've seen was a short 5 minute gameplay mash from a month ago and the game is releasing in less than two months.

This is being characterizes as more of a story trailer, by shinobi. Not a "teaser".
It's the second, and why are you assuming they have high individual CDs?
But the game isn't out yet. If someone is waiting on the game to release then they can also wait on the marketing to roll out. And if you think you've seen too much then you can always just go dark. What I'm saying is there's more to come and nobody is forced to engage in the marketing of this game, so in all reality, it's a non-issue.
Skills that aren't under global CD usually are more hard hitter skills in RPG's and have longer individual CD's. Went and jumped around in gameplay trailer, one skill had ~6 second CD. Assuming I know how to read that UI :b
6 seconds is pretty short, though. Extrapolate that to 3 skills and you'll be pretty much constantly be using abilities.

At this point people are so hungh up in the 'we've seen nothing' mentality that even if we get a full blown 30 minute gameplay video there will still be complaints.
C'mon guys, there's lots of info about the game around the net, you just have to google it. Seems like some won't be happy unless we get a bazillion trailers and promos spoiling everything.

Stop making up non-existent scenarios. It's been five years, five YEARS. And, we've only gotten one brief glimpse at actual gameplay two months before release. We've never had this little amount of info and content before the release of a BioWare game before. And, it's not as if the last Mass Effect game spread a lot of good will for the series.
If we're talking strictly about gameplay, the only footage we had of ME2 before release, was a snippet of Thane mission in the E3, then, we had the classes trailers like 1-2 months before the game release

You've gotten enough info and gameplay snippets to know what this game is about and there are still eight weeks left for marketing to show you even more. What do you want, a full playthrough?
I get that trust is at an all-time low after ME3 but c'mon, most people interested in this game already know all they need to know and I'd rather they leave some mystery to, you know, the actual game.
We know basically nothing about RP side of things, we know some about shooter and crafting side. Hopefully they show and talk about RP side of things over next 8 weeks.
Also do I want full playthrough? Nah, but they could show gameplay loop from start to end with some short early game mission. What there is to do on Tempest, to Galaxy map to planet to mission to what side stuff there is with mission (gathering) and back.

This is how i feel. So excited i built a new PC to play it in 4k.
My most anticipated game in years but i also wasn't disappointed 3 like seemingly 90% of GAF was. I liked the ending.
They don't need to show why people think it needs to exist because Mass Effect is going to do fucking gangbusters.

Fair enough, but I think the fact we're getting a cinematic story trailer tomorrow is promising on that end.
We already know that there's no Paragon/Renegade system, just interrupts, and that threre are quite a bit of romance options. Personally, I doubt it's going to deviate much from other BioWare games in the RP side of things.

I bet that animation was final until everyone complained about how bad it looked, then it turned into WIP.Except that FemRider scene that even devs admitted for being very unpolished and unfinished. It looks so terrible from animation perspective, that hand movement and insane grin is just next level

I get why people are frustrated. If you look at my post history you'll see that I've made my reservations about the game's plot known but at this point some people's attitudes seem more like an adverse reaction to a non-conventional marketing campaign than anything else.
Just because it's not presented neatly in a single piece of media doesn't mean the information isn't there. I don't expect users to give Mass Effect a privileged positon among their interests but if they are curious enough to post in these threads they might as well do a quick google/youtube search.

Technically it's a new developer though who seems to so far be focusing on different features than the things we liked about ME. I think the latest gameplay trailer where they unceremoniously fast forwarded through all the stuff from the previous games was created because fan feedback was telling them they got MMS vibes.
