Store page for Super Mega Baseball 2 is up, adding online play and a less exaggerated art style.

They really need a proper career mode, akin to MLB Power Pros... Lack of this hurt the first
game so much.

Don't forget Steam will take a cut of that, which is probably around 30%. There will likely be a 10% launch discount too.

I've already removed Steam's cut.
And it's XSEED we're talking about, no launch discount, no launch promotion of any kind.
No sales as well

I've been trying to get into Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, but so far I've been hitting and bouncing. I'm not far in yet (Level 15 now, just escorted the hydra head into Gran Soren), but I'm still waiting for the game to hook me and it's just not happening for some reason.

I spent a little time running around the countryside, just exploring, but exploration doesn't seem to be a big draw in this game. I've discovered the odd cave or two, but stuff just seems sort of there, without a real sense of lore to help pull me into the game world. The NPCs in the towns seem pretty lifeless for the most part. (The closest thing I've met to a character with a personality is Mercedes, the guard commander, and that's just because she has more dialogue than the rest.) The setup for the story is interesting on paper, but so far, it's not being presented in a way that's making me feel like, "I've gotta keep playing to find out more". I already know that people here are going to give me shit for this, but I find myself comparing it with Skyrim, and I really feel like DD:DA comes up short by comparison.

The areas where DD shines are the combat and skills progression. The fights feel satisfying and I like the way you advance and learn new skills. But the main quest doesn't feel very compelling so far, and without the prospect of interesting stuff to uncover through exploration and sidequests (the sidequests so far have been pretty underwhelming) and no really engaging NPCs to speak of, a good battle system alone's not enough to carry the game for me.

So I guess my question is, do things change at all as I get further in? Or is this pretty much how the game feels all the way through? If it's the latter, I'm thinking I might be better off just shelving it and starting Evoland 2 or something. : /

First one was truly great, but multiplayer doesn't interest me and I liked the exaggerated style. But the devs on the forums seemed pretty attentive to the weaknesses of the game so hopefully it has plenty of other improvements as well.

Edit: game page says "deep multi season stat tracking" which was probably my number one want. Will actually consider buying this day one depending on the price.

It took me until the mid 20's to really "get" how DDDA is meant to be played. Once I did a couple 'boss' fights (cyclops, griffin) and played around extensively with the pawn/class/ability system it all started to click.

I agree with your Skyrim comparison actually, the game doesn't quite have the content to fully support the size and scope of the game's world. You really have to be in it for the combat to see the game through, but the game does get better and more interesting once you settle into Gran Soren.

Whatever happened to Payday 2? Is the community still large? I remember they introduced the crate stuff and that pissed a lot people off. Just curious on the current status of that game.

Here's some game music to soothe your souls.

Hitman 2 theme is still such a great track, that intro with Bateson is pretty dumb though. And it's nice to hear some new stuff like Witcher 3 and TLG performed live as well. Too often these type of concerts only do the same old arrangements of the same old classics.
🎻

I wish there was a concert somewhere close to me at some point so I could go without going bankrupt.

Evoland 2 continues to deliver with a
r-type/gradius
style level near the end (there was also a more
bullet hell style top down
level before). Need to tally all the various game genres they paid homage to when I finish it.

What compatibility bit are you using for it?Is Azure looking to be of the same quality?
It's a DX9 game which natively supports MSAA, so you don't need any compatibility bit, just the "enhance the application setting" option. I don't know about Azure yet since I didn't get a key for it (though that might change)

It'll disappoint you with it's boring ass gameplay and kawaii as fuck characters rather than the lack of effort on the port.
Well, I think the gameplay is amazing and anything but boring. And kawaii characters are a great thing, though of course not all characters in the game are kawaii :p

It's just that I predominantly post screenshots featuring other characters, since I find them more aesthetically pleasing.

Durante do you not have Azure aswell?

T-Rex.

Nights of Azure is fairly boring tbh. Every area just feels exactly the same but re-skinned and the combat is so repetitive. The best thing about the game is the OST.

If I'm not mistaken, I've read somewhere that Dragon Dogma was inspired by Berserk which is why those costumes were in the Japanese version and omitted in the American version or something like that. Unless I'm thinking about Dark Souls.

Well, I didn't have it, but I just checked my messages and now I do. I'll need to go to work now but I'll give it a try later. (I'm obviously not as hyped for the game as I am for Atelier)

I just need dat good port confirmation to pull the trigger on the bundle tbh, especially now that my gameDUMP refund finally cleared

i wonder how far i am in persona 4

it feels like i should be near the end but i've got like three seasons to go lol

these games are really draining

Ahhh come on! It can't possibly be that bad, can it? At least not Berserk 2016 bad, right?
i haven't watched much of it but i feel like berserk 2016 is more ugly than bad?

or disappointingly ugly, specially compared to the old anime?

both take inspiration from berserk, dark souls is fairly subtle, but dragon's dogma is super apparent

which is great, it's one of the reasons why i enjoyed it so much

Berserk 2016 was both bad and ugly imo. Definitely ugly with those horrible CGI drawn characters, I don't understand how can this game CGI look better than the anime? The should've used this game CGI tbh, it would have been better received. But your right nothing beats the old hand drawn anime, the Golden age movies weren't that bad either, and honestly I would have preferred that over what they did with Berserk 2016. Supposedly they are also releasing season 2 in 2017, but I pray to God that they change the art style this time around, hopefully back to hand drawn. One can only hope.

finished Evoland 2, one of my most pleasant surprises in years really. Would have been a top 10 game in whaever year it came out in tbh (I think 2015 but maybe last year?). Just fantastically crafted, loving homage to gaming throughout the years except this this time unlike the first one, theres a great game wraped around it, with a shockingly decent time travel story. Highly recomended.

Im going to keep my eye out on whatever Shiro games releases to be honest, it seems their next game is Northgard, a viking themed RTS / 4X game.

And they were also working on Until Dark, but they suspended work on it for now unfortunately, which is a shame because it looks cool in the trailer they have up on their site.

This looks lovely:

Devs seem to be pushing for a late February Early Access release which is rather unfortunate because of Torment's full release.

Is it officially announced for PC or just speculations?

Pure speculation based on concrete facts. FFX HD port was done and finished 9 months before its Steam release. It was left untouched on SteamDB until release, which happened, curiously, 1 year, day for day, after the PS4 release.

Looks like I got a game that cannot be removed from my account. It's Facepunch Prototypes. Any tips on how to remove this game?
