New Zelda Breath of the Wild trailer

No bald cap? Lies!
I would much rather the flowers just be a symbol rather than a real thing. Just have them be something Zelda did on their kingdom wide journey and not some literal defense against evil. It could still become the means behind getting the "true" ending or however things go but having that actually be the purpose of their journey and the memories we unlock would be really weird and not something I would enjoy.

True, and I'd prefer it that way as well.

For the memories I think
above ground pedestals will cause them, most on towers but there seems to be one to the left in the scene of Link looking confused in Castle Town or wherever he is.
Edit: that shot might even be on top of a dungeon, there's just pillars in the background

Pretty sure the safe bet is the Goddess Statues will unlock them. Given their alluring glow and what not.

I just wanted to say that I like the idea of going inside the beast-dungeons.
It's classic to get inside dungeons through a mouth, only this time it's all moving and alive it seems.

So 14 regions + Great Plateau. Deku Tree region with at least 3 flowers. Vs 18 memories and presumably 18 corresponding Hylia statues.

I think we can definitely craft some decent working theories given the influx of information we'll be getting in the next three weeks.

I'm wary of being spoiled but also keen to take in as much as possible as soon as possible. Tough to balance.

Gonna have to look this up in mine as I genuinely have no idea where this was stated. Fuck the historia if true tho.

Why is the idea that Hylia fell in love with the hero so offensive to you? hahaha. It's a nice idea that loops back to Zelda and Link hooking up in Skyward Sword to become the progenitor of the people on the land below, after all.

im happy with that, im not happy that apparently our limited dungeons dont have a specific aesthetic and share common look, which in itself isnt that different from the shrine interiors

It's not offensive it just contradicts the hell out of Skyward Sword's ending, where Demise is the guy who cast that curse.

I believe Demise's curse only entailed his hatred being reincarnated to torment those with the blood of the goddess and spirit of the hero. He did not designate anything regarding Hylia/Hero's reincarnations.

Not necessarily tho. Demise' curse is that his hatred will continue to hound the descendants of Link and Zelda, so AFAIK it doesn't really contradict with the idea that Hylia casting that reincarnation spell in order to continue the love story she has with the hero.

Nintendo really playing up Link as Zelda's personal bodyguard in this one I see. I won't watch stuff now at this point, but it seems likely they have a romance develop in this one again if Link and Zelda are spending that much time travelling alone together.

I hope there's a decent amount of story development in the present too, and it's not just all recovering memories of the past. I know the memory recovery thing is their way to get around players triggering scenes from any map region.

Hmmm. I think I might have a clue about where in the overworld the Deku Tree is located.

He's surrounded by what appears to be crimson/autumn leaves at the top. Is extrange that everything is of a lush green in that forest except for those leaves in the background; I think they are his, as a sign of aging.

Next, in this screenshot, you can spot some kind of red foliage behind Hyrule Castle, to the left of Death Mountain.

What do you guys think?

a lot of people seem to think that cant be it because its not in the region labeled as Faron on the new map, but im not sold on that theory

You're not alone.

Super thorough map analysis on reddit.

Map itself.

I was thinking, do we even know if Zelda is "alive" in the present? We know she can speak with Link, but looks to me every cutscene with her is in the past. I am afraid she died protecting Link's body and only her spirit is there to guide Link.

Dungeons having animal interiors/exteriors certainly isn't new to the series:

Zelda 1 dungeons include: Level 1: Eagle, Level 4: Snake, Level 5: Lizard, Level 6: Dragon, Level 7: Demon, Level 8: Lion, (and Death Mountain's the shape of a skull:

You see a bright light coming from Hyrule Castle when she speaks to Link in one of the early (present day) cutscenes, so it's probably likely that she is alive in Hyrule Castle. Or her spirit is trapped there D:

....why the fuck do these trailers still have that annoying audio hit?

Was that the only file that Nintendo had and they're too lazy to re-record/fix it? This is seriously pissing me OFF.

It's intended and not something that they will fix. I think it sounds good, I guess not everyone thinks that.

Amazing animation and interactions! Why isnt there any music though? I watched the last one, Live, and it was Link doing thing without background music

I agree, I can't believe they're still using it. It sounded awful in the original trailer and becomes more jarring with every listen.

That's an insanely clever throwback, wow.

This game just keeps on giving.

It's an intentional hit for scene cut off.

It was intentional for the E3 trailer, but I don't think they've recorded or prepared any other trailer music so they just edit some gameplay / cutscenes with that one for easy and quick trailers, we will probably get another trailer before or during launch with another rendition of the main theme.

Yeah - it's interesting that the first mech we might encounter in BotW is the airship, which is akin to Level 1 in the first game being the Eagle.

The Game Informer update should hit soon, wonder if it'll be anything significant. Would love some footage of the dungeon.
