Does Kiwami have the same fighting stances as 0? I wasn't super in love with levelling up three different fighting stances.

Yes. Only difference is now Dragon of Dojima fighting style is available from Chapter 1. Except its absolutely useless for the first 12 chapters or so, you'll spend tons of time fighting Majima to level it back up, and when your done grinding Majima, Komaki and the arena it'll be even more overpowered than before!

Finally beat the story with 141 hours and 82.35% percent completion. Dancing, karaoke and gambling start now. My quest for 100% completion and infinite power will just be a bit away. I couldn't be more satisfied. Doing
the final few battles with each ones 4th style was balller. And they finally meet at the end!
.
Kiwami can't come soon enough.

Anyone else done all the climax battles? I'm on ultimate one and I'm finding it really difficult!

I've managed to do all of them. The last couple of boss rush fights were a pig to do, took me several attempts to do them. Best thing to do is just find 1 cheap move/strategy and spam it. That worked for me!

Thanks! Yeah still haven't found a cheap strat yet! Guess it's patient grind time until I find something that works! Wish me luck!

Gotta grind that Majima hard.

I loved the "Majima anywhere" system, though I think it'll be divisive among players.

If anyone is interested, and can't wait till summer. I have an imported copy of Yakuza Kiwami that I'm looking to get rid of. I played half-way through, then they announced the localization...so I decided to wait.

PM me if interested.

Last night I did the Majima boss fight
with the Oni yakuza in the Grand
, I think in Ch. 7. I think it's the most enjoyable boss I've faced so far. It felt like a MGS fight with the QTE cutscenes and the kind of unhinged personality of the boss. Really cool.

Anyone know a good completion guide? Stuff like the chinese board games, fishing, and parts collection would be way smoother.

Grabs work well on certain characters (especially
Sera
who can counter all sorts of stuff he throws at you). Also if you feel comfortable try to use counter moves (Majima has a brilliant counter move in his slugger style, that builds heat, then you can do a heat move and repeat). They take a while to get the timings down, but are really, really good when you have them down!

There are several encounters I really loved in the mode, but I did feel that they forced you to grind this mode a bit too much in the end, kinda took the epicness away from Majima's story related encounters. Its definitely a mode you want to keep up with throughout the game where possible rather than grind all at once at the end of the game. Still, once you unlock the Tiger Drop it makes later combat encounters against him somewhat trivial, fights last just a few seconds if you get the timing down!

So if you save in Premium Adventure, do you then just continue the save? I started Premium Adventure and it didn't find any save data.

All this time I've been praising Slugger style. Why did no one tell me that Breaker is secretly Majima's strongest basic style? Holy shit the cheesage.

Also, can someone teach me how to play Fantasy Zone? I start and am like "I don't know what I'm doing."

Just completed chapter 14 and damn!

First of all I've got to say I loved
rolling with my boy Nishiki! the moment they both took off their suits and began trashing some yakuzas and then when you entered the base and the heat move that actives as Kiryu saves him from a punch and the two hook a guy down together, ALL FANTASTIC!
Also really feel that it should have been
Kuze to finish off Tachibana (Man that was painful to watch :( ) since I kind of felt bad Kiryu gave him such a strong punch, guy wasn't going to off Tachibana there... And that guy who killed off Tachibana got off way too lightly... But just felt Kuze would have added that emotional impact a little bit more.
Still it was amazing, I didn't realise I would enjoy it so much even though it was my
fourth time fighting him!

And massive spoilers for Yakuza 0, 2 and 4 here but I've noticed a very funny trend of
a sibiling ALWAYS being killed off, what's up with that Nagoshi?!? Tachibana, Goda and Lily all dead! What you got against sibiling love D:

What is a turkey, and how do I bowl one?
A turkey is 3 strikes in a row. What I did was pick a heavy ball, start from slightly to the left or the right, aim for the center and adjust the spin so that it goes towards the center at an angle.

Anybody know how many costumes are unlockable in premium adventure?
Currently there are I believe 4 costumes for each , aside from the main outfit.

Totally meant to sink this shot in pool this way. All those years of Yahoo Pool paid off.

You know, for a game that goes out of its way to make its main character not kill anyone,
perhaps they shouldn't have put in a sequence where you're driving and, uh, murder 100 dudes.

What's hilarious is that it's such an easily fixable issue too.

Just make the targets be tires.

Ive only scratched the surface of the game since I barely started chapter 2, but after stumbling upon and completing a couple of substories...

This is an outstanding game. The humor is absolutely on point and Kiryu is instantly one of the most likeable video game characters I've ever encountered. Holy shit am I floored with the quality of the writing in this game. I've been genuinely laughing out loud with some of the stuff I've encountered.

Kinda tempted to look for a sidequests guide now, don't wanna miss anything. Is any of this stuff missable or can I do them anytime?

Nothing is missable, side stories open up on set chapters but will never expire, and if you miss any on your initial run through on the game you can use the premium adventure mode to finish up anything you missed.

Okay, finally found my way around Fantasy Zone. Phew. Fun game, but tough as a cookie for me.

Just finished. As my first real Yakuza experience (I only played about an hour or so of the original on PS2), I can see why people love it. This is a true video game, jam packed with so much to do, great action and a great story. Can't wait for Kiwami.

I've grown to appreciate the recaps after spending so many hours in these chapters. Even though I know what happens, it's refreshing mentally to see it recapped.

Point blank the enemy dispensers, buy lives, have fun figuring out the final encounter. Great game and one of my first single credit clears, and I'm always tempted to put credits into it now that I've unlocked it.

Anyone have tips on how to easily deal with the last two cabaret clubs? I've spent my entire Chapter 8 on the club aspect, but ever since moving on to Venus, I seem to be having a harder time. I barely beat Mercury...

What's your hostess lineup?

During the fight against Venus, my Plat hostesses are all level 33-35 average and my top Golds are all 25-28. Backup Golds are 20-22.

My stats distribution for the 4 pillars are all 500-ish with a good slate and I make sure none of my hostesses lose too much hp by praising or giving them gifts on a job well done.

That leveling is...way high than mine. I think only one plat is +30 and no golds are +25

That might be the reasons then...

For Venus, focus on having hostesses with strong attributes in love and talking.

Man, I am going to feel weird playing Kiwami, I got spoiled with playing as Majima...which is what I've wanted ever since the series decided to do multiple playable characters!...Dead Souls doesn't count.

Let us not also forget about the neck snapping move, particularly in Majima's stealth section.
I love the Yakuza series, don't get me wrong, but this is some Batman/Arkham levels of logic here.

Well Lily was no angel, she bloody killed people even if coerced, her fate was kind of sealed, as was Goda's...but man, Tachibana's was the saddest of them all (He was the least terrible of the three!). Kiryu keeps messing up getting siblings to meet up...and if you wanna get technical sworn "brothers" also bite it (Shinji, Nishiki, Rikiya).
