Todd Howard: 2 new games 'bigger than anything we've ever done', also new mobile game

Can't wait for the logical end point of current Bethesda design, a thousand square meters of bland plains where everything from the quests and the characters to the weapons are randomly generated by an algorithm with only three variables.

Eh I don't believe his bullshit, especially with the ram and GPUs in the current consoles. That and ps4 pro and Scorpio are decent power upgrades over the base models.Seems his statement is basically code for that they are limited by the shit CPUs in ps4/xb1.

They could simply code the game for a 1080, 16gb ram and skylake i7. For very obvious reasons they won't, but saying the tech isn't there is bullshit.

If he want to make new ES like Daggerfall than he is right, there is no tech like that yet.

Take your time guys!

I am sure that they can make the next ES even better, especially if they stop dumbing down the mechanics and do their own thing again. Skyrim is a child of it's time, but now thigns are going in the other direction and hopefully we get to see a new take on ES formula.

I really want either Elsweyr or a Redguard region (would prefer old Yokuda and make the game end to the apocalypse, would be great!)...

Bethesda is one of those devs who should go smaller and more refined than take their current design model and scale it up and up. Fallout 4 was already pushing their "Explorable sandbox with very, very light RPG elements and a lots combat" design to limit in size, imo.

Do not worry. The tech is already there.

Yea boi, can't wait to hold LT while I blindly follow some footsteps in the next TES game.

At least you would have some unique writing to read and hear instead of 10 000th "Hey brah, that settlement totally needs defending for 50th time" "quest".

Whatever you may think of Bethesda Softworks. Not making ESVI after Skyrim's ridiculous success is one hell of a ballsy move.

It's pretty weird how there's still no word on a new TES. Like, are we not getting one this gen? That would be crazy, wouldn't it?

I wouldn't mind seeing something more typically sci-fi from them, more clean and sleek, rather than apocalyptic and dystopian.

Oh Todd, you are the guy who nearly made me hate the WRPG/CRPG genre before I could actually play better games on it.

His face always remind me of Messi. And I hate them both with passion lol

Hire some writers Todd.

Hell, if it wasnt for the guys how made interesting NPCs, i wouldnt have played Skyrim in its totality. More than 200 new NPCs with actual interesting sidequests, things to say and lore. You didnt know which character was made by Bethesda and which one was made by the modders until they open their mouth, then it became obvious.

So why not get them and have better writers that actually love their worlds.

Yea boi, can't wait to hold LT while I blindly follow some footsteps in the next TES game.

At least following those footsteps will be interesting.

I honestly believe that one of the 2 projects is going to be a Fallout and TES6 is gonna be a long ways out. No way they're gonna leave Fallout dormant for too long given how much they made off Fallout 4, and the fact they can continuously milk Skyrim (which they can't really do with FO4) gives them less incentive to make a new Elder Scrolls yet

I love bethesda games so im down for whatever they do...but i really want elder scrolls 6. But considering that studios pipeline it would make sense theyd want a break

Hope they will torch down their current gamebryo engine and come up with a publisher wide game engine.
Like EA did with Frostbyte.

Honestly I think the release of the Skyrim remaster points to that. TES VI probably involves something that current console tech isn't capable of handling.

Super excited to see what Bethesda can do with its first new I.P. in what, 25 years?

(Obviously not counting fallout as a new I.P.)

I'm hoping for one hard sci Fi game, and one modern game.

What's bothering me about what we've heard from them is that they never said they were switching to a brand new engine. Enough is enough with that crap. Fallout 4 was a good game, but was majorly set back by that ancient technology. Poor animation, loading screens everywhere, bugs, pretty ugly interiors.

Skyrim made a gazillion dollars (and still brings in money). Steal some people from Ubisoft and CD projekt red and build a competent engine for christ's sake.

With the new IPs, I hope there is no loading screen to enter cities. I liked Fallout 4 but was disappointed we had to load to enter Diamond City and Good Neighbor.

Like there even would be debate which would be better.

Just look at FO4 and then TW3.

Yes, Bethesda will make bank and likely not be as critically throttled as they need to be, and CDPR will likely be a critical darling but come up short gameplay wise.

After TW3 I was disappointed that we had to enter loading screen with every fricking door or hatch, no matter how tiny or large shag was in question.

Wot? Did you mean to say that they do less bank, or? Also that implies that Bethesda somehow delivers good gameplay :D
