If you enjoy it, keep watching. If not, there is a lot of other TV out there to try. Have you seen Veronica Mars or The LA Complex? Those are a couple other CW shows we really liked.

I am enjoying it...kinda. Mostly for Damon like I said. Its more typical teen romance vampire stuff than I remember, I always thought the show subverted those cliches but I guess it doent lol. Or maybe its just these first few eps.

When does Damon's bro show up anyway? I forget his name, think he was some teacher? He hated Damon and then they become bros?

Oh, you're not even into the very good stuff yet. Alaric. He'll show up in a few episodes or so. #10 I think. As I mentioned in an above post the first four or five eps go hard in the teen romance genre and then any playing with those tropes picks up significantly through the rest of the season, then season two kicks the show into a much higher gear. Well, the last couple eps of season one to be specific. Those first few eps with the diary narration being so strong and frequent and the fog and everything really are markedly different in tone than most if the rest of the series. (Haven't seen any of the final season yet, though.)

APB needs to have more Awesome Police Business and less All Person Bullshit. In 3 episodes we had 5 cases where someone on the squad had a personal link to it.

I'm waiting for someone to remake The Big Bang Theory a year after it's over. But this time it'll be four nerd girls and four "cool" guys.

Crashing was okay for the first half, but once Artie Lange pops in there, the show was real good. If episodes are half his marital problems and then half palling around with a comedian, I'll be cool with that.

Also, apparently that Hulu Stephen King show, Castle Rock, is going to tie into a larger body of his books and create a weird anthology/adaptation amalgamation. That could be the best or the weirdest, I'm not sure yet.

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
Wasn't this current season of Quantico already a reboot? They gonna change agencies again?

First half of S3 of the Originals was a low point with all the royal drama. I guess you have the a few more episodes before it improves considerably. Second half of the season was much stronger.

Oh really? Nice to know I'm not the only one thinking it dipped a little here at the start of Season 3. Great to hear that it improves during the second half! I'll finish the season soon.

That Agents of Shield/Legends battle is still pretty neck and neck

oops my bad on the shield gif, I didnt know it was a recent thing, sincere apologies

I deleted the gif and the derail.

Please keep in mind that the purpose of this thread is to discuss ratings, cancellations, and other associated TV business news. The cancellations thread is not intended as a catch-all community thread. This isn't a thread to post huge gifs or discuss plot details from what you watched last night. Use the appropriate OT if that's what you'd like to do. Thanks.

As a further reminder...

- THR: Judge Judy Shopping Her Old Reruns for $200 Million
In addition to churning out new daily episodes of her top-rated court show for CBS TV Distribution, creator/host Judith Sheindlin now is looking to cash in on her reruns. As part of her most recent contract renegotiation, she locked in a cool $47 million-plus a year along with rights to her library, which includes thousands of old episodes. And if all goes as Sheindlin hopes, she'll soon sell that catalog for as much as $200 million — and in doing so throw cold water on a long-held theory that there's little to no aftermarket for such syndicated shows.

Shopping the library on Sheindlin's behalf is former Bear Stearns banker Lisbeth R. Barron, who in recent months has approached a mix of studios, station groups, distributors and deep-pocketed individuals. Her pitch, per multiple sources who have heard it: TV stations — those that currently air Judge Judy originals as well as their competitors — will be salivating for anything Judy once the first-run episodes conclude in 2020; plus, the No. 1 court show has yet to be exploited in much of the streaming, cable or global marketplace.

That Sheindlin, 74, who along with CBS declined comment for this story, was able to secure those rights in early 2015 is evidence of her leverage at the company. While a series of pricey talk shows have come and gone (remember Meredith? Katie? Queen Latifah?), Judy still averages more than 10 million daily viewers in its 21st season; and in 2014, Sheindlin launched another top performer in Hot Bench. For CBS, procuring new episodes of Judy through the 2019-20 season was not simply a priority but a necessity.

So what are we thinking of the odds for The Real O'Neals for season 3?

I think it'll be cancelled. It's ABC's lowest performing comedy at the moment, not including Dr. Ken but that's on Fridays. And the show gets bad press more often than not because of the main actor. It kinda sucks since the show itself is pretty good and really puts LGBT stuff out there front and center. Hell, the episode where Kenny is dancing and singing about having a boyfriend is something I never thought I would've seen on network TV, and that's amazing!

But it's the weakest performing comedy on ABC right now. It's not getting a season 3.

Wait, what's the bad press?

Also anyone watching this show called SS-GB? Seems like a British version of Man in the Highcastle.

Noah Galvin (Kenny) said something offensive about gay people, I think. I think it was that he didn't like that Eric Stonestreet from Modern Family was basically playing a caricature of a gay guy. I'm not entirely sure what it was though. That, plus Sara Ramirez from Grey's Anatomy didn't appreciate a joke that the show made about bisexuals, especially since she is bisexual herself. And I'm sure Catholics aren't happy about the show existing at all, but then again, a lot of Catholics are never happy.

I've heard the "token gay" comments about Modern Family for years from critics, so I don't think that's new. I do remember that biphobic joke though - the standard "make up your mind" one, IIRC.

As for the Catholics, well... sure I guess. lol

Blows my mind that Supernatural still performs at the level it does for CW.

The show still manages to pull off amazing episodes from time to time too. Watch last weeks episode, "Stuck in the Middle". Episode was so good I thought I was watching a Kripke episode from the early years.

Oh nice! $7 a month isn't too bad either, depending on what their selection is like.
32 shows isn't a lot, but I guess we'll see if it's successful enough to build out basically a live action version of Crunchyroll.

Assuming they can pay their translators peanuts like CR, the only cost will be licensing content which you'd think would be relatively cheap because who is going to buy global streaming rights for a French show?

With the news of Season 3 of Fargo airing in April I decided to finally check out what this show is about. So I've seen 45 minutes and it seems to be a mystery show with some very special acting and sound design. Kind of gives it a special vibe, almost comical or very expressive but not in a bad way. Maybe I kind of reminds me of our TV shows here in Scandinavia. And it's kind of funny hearing the name Nygaard pronounced in English.

Anyway it does some nice character setup, and that hitman is damn spooky. Almost like he enjoys setting up scenarios that can make other hurts others. He's a pro for sure. And the wife of Nygaard reminds me of my ex always praising others and telling me to be like them, so damn annoying. I almost gets frustrated seeing Nygaard not defending himself.

I can't wait to keep going and give the show a chance, although the atmosphere, exaggerated acting and some of the sound design is putting me off.

Season one is very excellent, and season two is just as awesome!

I'm just thinking if I should be watching the movie beforehand, even though they aren't connected. The show is based on the movie I've heard but maybe it will take away the suspense from the show if I know what happens in the movie.

It's its own thing, other than a single incident that is actually tied to the movie. You can watch it on its own and it will be a great show, but the movie is one of the best out there and worth watching as well!

IIRC, he also had a bit of a fit when Colton Haynes officially came out.
