Switch Nindies Showcase 28 Feb 2017. 9 AM PT.

Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.
This was buried in the FAST RMX announcement, but I thought it deserved its own thread. Lock if old.

To celebrate many of these upcoming ”Nindie" creations before launch, Nintendo will host a Nindies Showcase video presentation on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 9 a.m. PT. Just visit http://live.nintendo.com to watch.

UPDATE: Europe is getting a localised version too. 17:30 UK time. https://t.co/02yPOVxAko

We'll probably see Ultimate Chicken Horse here since it was recently announced for Switch, PS4 and Xbox One with a new mode.

Awesome, hopefully Snake Pass and Tumbleseed get some love, and I have a feeling Devolver Digitals game may well be featured in this, especially as they said to expect it at GDC, which is timed around here too.

Here's hoping that it's Enter the Gungeon!

Wants the largest console games publisher to avoid Nintendo's platforms.
Ha! I stand corrected.

Switch isn't even out yet and they're already having to do all indie directs without big hitters?

Ruh-roh.

They're probably wanting to emphasize the indie catalogue to try and fill out out people's launch purposes. Zelda is big enough for many people to want to buy the system, but I imagine most will want further titles to justify it. Since most of their major titles are down the line, and third parties are likely still somewhat wary until it's a proven sales success, that leaves indies to fill the gap.

I expect Shovel Knight to get a lot of focus from this.

How can people not care about indies? They're games. And often great ones.

You are right. I suppose you wanted to hear that. Thankfully I like games in general so will be a good thing for me =).

Because they're handicapped on the Switch. Whether it's due to it being a port of a game you've played years ago, graphical fidelity and performance not up to par with competitors, lack of achievements, no d-pad, etc.

I love indies, I just don't plan on buying any on the Switch.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

I'm sure those indie games will prevent full price releases from happening.

I think it'll be $30, but $20 would be amazing.

I gladly bought the initial digital release and Nintendo Selects physical release of FAST Racing Neo and I would say the game warrents a price like $30 but Shin'en tend to price their games really well. They launched with Nano Assault Neo on Wii U at $9.99. I'm predicting FAST RMX is either $15 or $20 even if it should be more.

My dream announcement would be an Undertale port, but I'm not sure if its even possible.

Seeing as Fast Racing Wii U launched at £10.99 it better not be $30!
That's fair, but they've added a ton of stuff, right? In any case, it's a no-brainer at $15-20.

Why wouldn't it be? I'm certainly hoping for it!

I wouldn't dismiss it. By the sounds of it Nintendo have been in contact with Toby Fox for a while.

As a love letter to the Mother series, it's only right that the first console port would be for Nintendo!

Having Fast RMX and Shovel Knight at launch makes the launch lineup a whole lot better. It's not a huge system-seller style deal, but it's definitely a very welcome one. Interested to see what else they have lined up.

It makes the launch feel more well rounded.

It's taking place during GDC, you know, where there's a lot of emphasis on indie development.
Ah, that makes more sense. I forgot about GDC. Never mind.

All of his makes sense. The reality is the reality. But the stuff about third parties being wary is kinda concerning. It'd be nice if they were on board you know?

I dunno, we just haven't really had much news since January. And it kinda looks bad if your second round of announcements is stuff people haven't heard off rather than big names.
I'm sure those indie games will prevent full price releases from happening.
Obviously they won't; but that's not what I'm saying. Just saying right now this console is more than £300 for Zelda and, uh, literally who? Indie announcements aren't going to help that.

Thinking of Price though, I'm in Europe, so I'm pretty sure all these indies will be overpriced anyway.
Dumb. It's during GDC. They already said they were going to have nindies announcement at that time.
Rude. I forgot GDC was happening and I never saw that news.

You are still right to think that way if you're in the group of people who feel this. I'm still happy with this announcement.

This is exciting, there are a lot of indies coming out for the switch that I am really interested in. Hopefully some of them are shown.

Do you have evidence of any currently announced Switch indie game port that runs at lesser performance or lower graphical fidelity compared to other console releases?
