Yeah, that helped me save ammo on a few parts. If you hit them in the neck, they tend to stagger and generally go down fast. I'm not sure if it's less effective on Madhouse difficulty though. I've only played the game on Easy so far.

Am I the only one loving the shit out of Ethan Must Die mode? I haven't beaten it yet but man, this is really great. Having that feeling to get just a little bit further with each run. Didn't think I'd enjoy this so much. Kinda reminds me of Dark Souls.

Lucas set up traps and ran away, even when you Factor his DLC appareances. Granny doesn't do anything. That alone I can't see how they're better unless you elaborate

Well Mr. Jawmuncher it's just my opinion, but I enjoyed lucas's character because it reminded me of snot nosed friends I have in my own life (sans the psychosis of course). His lines always made me laugh, and granny is just the sweetest little thing. I honestly thought your gif was alluding to

Ahh ok. I could understand that then.
So, I decided to get back into the game after a long week of work, but I've been having issues with the game updating since last night. The download starts fine, but then I get an error message about a "corrupt download":
I "verified the integrity of the game files" and everything is in order. Do you guys have any idea how I can get past this error? The game won't run without the update
Edit: Fixed it by changing the download region multiple times -had to go to a faraway region for the thing to finally download. Can't wait to get back to the game after work!

I think its pretty fun.
I wouldn't mind if it comes back for RE8 with a different name(<insert name> must die),it needs a lot more of enemy variety though.

I am still in the wrecked ship playing as Mia before I take control back of Ethan. My question is, in terms of supplies and everything I get as Mia (ammo, herb, etc..), will I lose once I leave the ship? I am avoiding the molded, but if I am going to lose ammo I will just kill those fuckers and save me some time trying to avoid a fight

Everything you collect as Mia ends up in the inventory chest for Ethan to use after the ship.
Finished the game.
I quite liked it, though I think people who thought it was as good or better than RE4 are crazy.
The second half wasn't as interesting, and the finale is really weak,
The highlight for me was the second boss fight
I played it on PC, but playing it in VR must be wild.

with Marguerite, some really creepy shit, reminded me of Siren's Shibitos.
I also like the beginning, having Mia go crazy caught me off guard, since I hadn't followed much of the marketing, I didn't know that would happen, lol.

Also "Well don't just stand there-- do something!" Like as if he was a good guy and wanted to see Ethan save her, but at the same time was just fucking with him

Quick subjective tips:
Set your turn radius to 45 instead of the default 30.
Try not to circle strafe too much.
Restart your headset/ps4 immediately if your headset is having jitter issues.
Stop as soon as you feel your stomach begin to turn.
It's easy to build up a tolerance.
If you want to cover all bases, there's a motion sickness medication called "bonine" that's non-drows and lasts for 24 hours.

I never considered myself a RE fan but I like the original trilogy + 4 quite a bit, so every time a new one is announced I still get a bit excited thinking maybe this time it's going to appeal to me... And the first person gameplay definitely didn't grab me with this one.
I appreciated the first demo because it was scary but that was it.
Then previews started to surface, and people start comparing it to RE1, so I get pretty excited and decide to go on media blackout for it.
Fast forward to past thursday and I bought this, caving in after all the positive reception. Then I marathon the game every afternoon with my girlfriend until now that I just finished it.
Holy shit that was so good! It really does feel like a modern take on RE1, and everything from presentation to gameplay and atmosphere feels so high quality, it's really hard for me to believe this is modern Capcom. Hell, I even dug the story, which I rarely care for in RE games.
So yeah, I'm seriously hooked and planning to give it a second go in a harder difficulty. I'm even getting the season pass at the moment... Sorry for being part of the problem.

I also cannot stream or record gameplay footage on PS4pro and I'm not on the beta. Tells me right when it starts up. I found a significant amount of people online experiencing the same thing, but not everyone.
There was a theory that it had something to do with HDR being enabled. I've not yet tested that for myself. Can you guys all specify which ps4 model you are using and if you are using HDR? Lets get some real data here.

Finally got around to playing this... Been so damn busy. What can I say... The first 75% of this game was fucking awesome. I was so hyped when the

Great mix of scares, puzzles, exploration, and action, though perhaps one too many cheap jump scares. The level design and overall map design of the Baker Estate was quite good, and the item puzzles and weird keys definitely evoked nostalgia. This is definitely a step in the right direction for the series, and gives me hope that they won't ruin RE2make. It's been a long time since I've been excited about this franchise, it feels good. We're going to get Revelations 3 also aren't we?

Lol started this last night with a friend and we were both in hysterics. Is there any reason why the protagonist sounds so fucking bored? It's like RE1 voice acting sneaked into the game somehow.

OK I realise I'm being a monumental puss but I'm struggling very early on (Spoilers for first few hours)
Any help appreciated and yes I know I suck.
The game seems to have taken a monumental leap in difficulty and I'm not prepared for it. OK, so I'm down in the basement where you first meet the black spooge monsters, and I get to a room where 4 of them spawn at once and I just don't seem equipped to deal with them - I have the knife and about 20 shots in the pistol but it doesn't seem enough. Should I have the shotgun by this point? I have the adrenaline, for what it's worth (not much)
Any help appreciated and yes I know I suck.

Honestly, just run by them as much as possible. You can also close the door behind them if you either get to a room and theyre chasing you down a hall, or you can close the door of the room that they're in and they can't open the doors.
You can have a shotgun at that point if you go back and explore the house more. It is however not needed in that room you are talking about as you can always just run past them. It is a good thing to remember that you don't have to always kill everything. Adrenaline is good to use when you are low on health as it gives you full health along with the health upgrade.

Cheers guys. I tried splitting them up to take them on one by one but the room always seems to spawn another 4. I was trying to clear the room as I presume there is something important to do in there.

I remember finding a photo of grandma at the very beginning of the game, and at the back of it "E-001" which stands for the Eveline "virus" I guess, so grandma must be connected to that somehow? Idk yet

I saw Banned footage 1 and 2 are up on PSN (just got the game a few days ago) and the season pass is $30 but bought individually it works out to about $25. If I decide I want more RE7 is there any benefits at all to buying the season pass over just buying them individually?

Big new story scenario releasing later in the year featuring a brand new area and a few hours long.
There will be a third single player DLC releasing later this year. (not sure if it is called "Banned Footage") Not much is known about it at this point, but if you want that too, the season pass will be the cheapest way to go.
There is also a free DLC coming this spring (teased when you beat the game), but this is seperate from the season pass.
