Loved Malcom Nance's response to that interview:

"I have a message for [Page]: when the entire intelligence community comes down on you, I hope you were telling the truth in that interview."
Lol that was amazing. Love how everyone responding was like wtf is Page even doing onTV. He's playing himself.

Carter Page is an extremely bad liar.

Also, at this stage, any response to a question that consists of "B-b-but the Clintons!" might a well be a blatant admission of guilt.

"I'm gonna give you these extremely lawyerish answers that make me look way too guilty and end up revealing shit I probably shouldn't have revealed but..

Wait why did I decide to come on your show?"

Also MSNBC besides Chuck Todd seems to be so much better than CNN. No nonsense about uhh let's spend two hours about how the President's speech "sounds" and ignore the actual garbage inside it.

I finally got home and saw the Carter Page interview. If the Sessions press conference was poorly planned, this was so much worse. Who the hell thought having Page go on MSNBC was a good idea?

"He could have stated his response more accurately",Conway must have wrote that part, then Trump just tacked on his usual "Democrats are just angry about my TREMENDOUS victory and how smart i am!"

HOLY SHIT RACHEL MADDOW SPITTING FIRE..

She is reporting on an exclusive DHS document relating to the Muslim Ban..

Rachel Maddow got some official documents from the DHS basically saying the "Muslim Ban" is garbage because people become radicalized after entering the country (or more often their children). "Extreme vetting" does nothing to keep out terrorists. Homeland radicalization can be addressed by better community outreach and inclusion.

Basically Maddow showing an intel document saying people outside the country only get radical years after they enter because of other reasons, most likely the shit that Trump says. So there is no security risk in allowing non-us people from entering after vetting them.

Russia is pissed off about this whole kremlin-gate thing.

This is an actual quote from an article.

"Hysteria in the U.S. has driven politicians into a trap," Pushkov tweeted. "You met a Russian? That's an end to your career. You concealed it? You go to prison. The spirit of Joseph McCarthy has been waiting for its hour to come."

http://www.ctvnews.ca/world/kremlin-sessions-uproar-an-impediment-to-fixing-relations-1.3307927

The irony of Russians invoking McCarthy, now and then.

The thing is that Republicans have created this kind of toxic environment themselves by having purity/extremism tests as a core of their party. Abortion, guns, wall street, terrorism and so on. Even a small step away the strictest republican line and you are seen as the enemy.

He isnt answering questions to the intel committee. Guy is on from the thing right now saying they might have to subpoena the FBI.

And that there is no reason for it. This isn't a matter of executive privilege. Comey is in private meetings with the senate intel committee and just straight up refusing to answer questions without providing any reasoning for why he can't.

The House intel committee. We didn't get any indication that he withheld information from the Senate intel committee, in fact they seemed to gain confidence in the investigation after their meeting with Comey. That raises the interesting question of why he would withhold information from the House but not the Senate, it's possible Comey believes the House would leak or is compromised somehow.

I see. If he does do you think he can get pressure to shutdown the investigation that's still being formed? If he gets subpoena all the information becomes public?

Interesting. Eventually we will know what's up with that. I prefer to wait. There's a strategy at play here, every agent that can wants to bring tweet down, I think Comey may be playing the long game.

I rewinded the interview and yeah, it was the House.

I dunno...not ready to put much faith in Comey yet.

Schiff did describe a problem with the FBI withholding information in order to help develop a criminal prosecution versus sharing that information with US Officials responsible for the security of the country at large.

He didn't specifically say that was what was going on with Comey, and said he didn't want to characterize Comey's responses (stating in fact that he couldn't discern Comey's reasoning for choosing not to answer questions), but he did offer that up as context.

Nunes or someone may be the problem. What if one of them is being investigated? I think it's very fair to be very skeptical of Comey but this is not necessarily a sign he isn't investigating well.

That's he's twice now openly threatened to subpoena Comey tells me which way he's leaning.

Nunes is in those same meetings? I mean then it makes complete sense. Dude was acting press dog for the WH to say 'nothing to see here!

Well, I'm not putting my faith in him either. We need to observe people not solely to determine their patterns but also to predict when they are breaking it. These leaks that we are seeing are directed to accomplish things. Flynn was the test for sessions and he failed while confirming himself to be compromised, so the next set were directed to whom could obstruct the related investigation moving forward, that seems to indicate that's the FBI that's mobilizing behind the scenes due to the influence of the AG. We are getting closer to the reveal and unfortunately for Trump, he can't fire Comey without exposing himself. They're scrambling and used the stooges in the house of Representatives to provide cover, which Comey may already knew were compromised and is stonewalling them to avoid showing his hand.

I believe in Comey. Trump is toast.

Nunes is the HEAD of the house intel committee. If Comey is holding back because of him, I assume he must be pretty frustrated.

It certainly could be a reason Comey's being unforthcoming, it's hard to give him too much benefit of the doubt considering his various breaches of protocol and inconsistent actions in the past.

I disliked Comey for the letter, but it was either that or neverending leaks that were already filtering out. There was no good play to make there.

I never bought this.

The DOJ had standing protocol on how to handle investigations in election years. Comey already had an excuse for not commenting on the email investigation that was backed by known precedent. Following precedent would have been the good play.

Leaks are leaks. They were already happening. Leaks wouldn't have sent the Clinton campaign into a tailspin in the final week. Official Comey stationary did that

The dam is breaking. Like every alleged connection is getting confirmed.

That's the best you've got?

No one has gotten around to crushing the "leaks are the real story!" dodge in the GOP yet? Unless they expect us to believe that they have a shit ton of fake intel just laying around, you cannot say the following two statements:
> These stories are all false
> The leaks that led to these stories are illegally obtained from us

Both of these statements cannot be true.

Are you sure that leaks wouldn't have that effect on the campaign? Look at what they are doing to a sitting president currently, plus consider all the negative baggage that Republicans had pushed on Clinton, all the narratives about Obama, and the establishment holding a legit investigation down (I don't share this view but the press wouldn't help themselves), etc. I disagree with your conclusion but we'll never really know on that one so you may well be right.

How to hack Donald Trump

Dear Donald Trump,

A distant relative in Russia has named you as an heir for 1,125 acres of land, however the authorities have seized the assets and are waiting for a processing fee of 5 human souls and 1 ritual human sacrifice.

Why the hell would he go on TV? This is horrific for him

I said the same thing. Why would he even go public. No one was even thinking about him.

I mean if we're going with the 4d chess angle. maybe to take the heat off Sessions, but not. These people are incompetent as fuck.

https://theintercept.com/2017/02/15...izarre-letter-to-doj-blaming-hillary-clinton/

It then makes the grandiose claim that “the actions by the Clinton regime and their associates may be among the most extreme examples of human rights violations observed during any election in U.S. history since Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was similarly targeted for his anti-war views in the 1960’s.”

Page repeatedly describes as “outrageous” the news coverage claiming that he has significant connections to Russian officials and what he says was the Clinton campaign’s hidden hand behind it.

The Clinton campaign, says Page, engaged in “human rights violations,” “illegal activities,” “unlawful deceptions,” “Obstruction of Justice — the charge upon which President Nixon was impeached,” spreading “False Evidence,” and “an obviously illegal attempt to silence me on an important issue of national and international consequence in violation of my Constitutional rights.”

Page also states that he was targeted by the Clinton campaign because he is Catholic, a military veteran, and a man.

He's very strange.

Quoting myself since at the time I didn't realize this statement wasn't posted here:

Trump is sending a message that if you lie to the VP, you get ousted. Remember, they said he merely did not recall, which is of course bullshit.

But if you lie to congress under oath, you're okay. Remember, they are saying he merely did not recall, which is of course bullshit.
