Yeah, my main concern aside from all of the awkwardness is finding a likable squadmate at all. Not for romance, but who I want to take on missions with me and spend time talking to in general. Whereas, it used to be a matter of the choice being difficult because there was something that you liked about all of them. I am just not seeing a Liara, Jacob, Samara, Thane, Garrus, Mordin, Ashley, Legion, etc here at all.
I guess that sales will define what is acceptable and what isn't, not the personal opinions of a minority of 'expert users'
I can't believe I scheduled a week of vacation for when this game comes out. FML

I guess during the suicide mission you can get the entire Andromeda cast killed without giving a shit.

So.... What to do? Ignore the game because it's probably shit or buy it and play while high and laugh my ass off (and maybe get some nice gameplay at certain points)?
Most of the cutscenes in previous mass effect games involving characters were done in real time. If I remember correctly, most of the pre-rendered stuff was ship battles and what not.

Make sure you smoke that Andromeda Kush...should come packed within every game for maximum enjoyment.
I am just going to hop in and hope it surprises me. Which I am expecting it will in some areas. As I have seen some great looking gameplay and beautiful locations. In other words, I think it is going to be an incredibly unpolished mixed bag of both great and awful.

Yup. The games had way too many variables available for prerendered footage to be viable for most situations. Anything with Shepard in normal view was an impossibility given the good (for its time at least) character creator. There were some FMVs but they were rarer than one would think, remember games were running off at most 2 DVDs per each on 360, that's... not that much data to be honest since they had to share a lot.

The animations are just not finished in this game.
The character models and the animations are quite a bit worse than Inquisition in general. My point stands.
You can watch hours of preview footage and judge for yourself.

Basically this. Even if ME:A is fantastic apart from isolated issues we're seeing right now, expect those issued to be covered way more thoroughly when the game launches properly. Not everyone finds their money worth in EA/Origin Access subscription - especially PS4 owners! - and those that do are on a time limit anyway.

Still doesn't excuse why the human characters, the things you'll be looking at 90% of the time look so damn awful, everything from the hair, eyes and skin texture is dreadful

Anyone remembers how many pages did we get on initial NMS disbelief?
I'm actually glad I didn't preorder this, and the thought had occurred to me too. Really wanted a new Mass Effect to have have and discover for the first time too.
Ah well, maybe I'll get it some day down the line in a sale and either it'll be patched to be at least acceptable or I'll enjoy it for all this horrible nonsense.
