Yup. No one under the Maker umbrella can badmouth one another. That said, isn't Continue? & the rest of Normal Boots under Maker, as well? At the very least, the Continue? cast has confirmed that they are wholeheartedly against these kinds of hateful beliefs, even if they can't explicitly call Jon out by name.

Arguing against immigration policy can have nuance like how many people you let in, requirements to enter, how to deal with families comprised of illegal and national born status etc.
This is not what Jon was arguing and it is a bridge too far to give him the benefit of the doubt on the matter. His views were that America was a white nation and that it should largely remain that way. That was what probably 90% of his 'debate' centered around: what it meant to be white, how other 'white' countries let non whites in and became worse for it, that Japan was a good example because it was essentially a more racially pure country, how black people just cause crime apparently, how there's a concern about the gene pool being diluted. And then to top it all off he said that discrimination is over.
I understand the impulse for sympathy. And if he had just made an inappropriate joke or repeated some ignorant POV this still wouldn't be a great apology. An apology needs to have 3 parts: addressing the problem, understanding why it is a problem, and a plan of action to fix it or prevent it from happening again. He doesn't really do that. He just apologises for being unprepared for a debate and then blames the monolithic media for calling him a racist and then tacitly reaffirms his beliefs without using any of the ugly language specifically he used before. I don't get the sense that he's truly sorry for anything he said at all.
The problem I think with posts like yours is that you are too quick to forgive, too quick to extend an olive branch, and dare I say not informed well enough as to the entire situation about what was said.
Jon argued for over an hour and a half why America not being a white nation was a bad thing and he gave maybe a 5 minute apology that was highly edited without actually retracting any of his views. How is that good enough?

I expected this statement to be a lot worse, based on the comments in this thread.
The issue at hand is that JonTron just isn't fucking intelligent enough to have a nuanced opinion about something, and he lacks the empathy required to understand the day-to-day struggles of people who don't look like him or live like him. Basically, he's an ideological hack. The broad general "beliefs" he outlines actually sound semi-reasonable until he gets into situations like the one he was in with Destiny, and it's clear that his view of the world breaks down under even the tiniest bit of real scrutiny. He's one of those "I don't see color" assholes.
He can miss me with that whole "boo hoo poor white people get shit on in the media" bullshit. It goes back to his lack of empathy and not understanding power structures or how oppression plays out in modern-day America. The dude just doesn't know shit. He's like a comical personification of the dictionary definition of ignorance.

Yeah pure damage control which doesnt control any damage. Like what he said here on its own seemed pretty bad to me, and I havent heard much of what he said before.
From one instance his statement about african americans having a raw deal, and then he tries to diminish it by saying discrimination is universally bad(well duh!), as if to say its at all comparable though.
He comes across as pretty stupid and racist just from this video.
