And another one...
"Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? "
"No."
"I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life... He had such a knowledge of the dark side, he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. "

The rain effect is bugged when you wear a helmet

it looks like Ryder is sweating profusely inside the helmet

I thought I was going mad when I saw this - or that Ryder had developed some form of horrendous disease that caused his flesh to constantly erupt in boils.

That's just amateur hour by the Bioware devs.
I don't get how you let something like this slip by QA lol

Unless there is a narrative reason I'm overlooking...

This one is just so perfect.

The non-grab of the bottle. The awkward pouring motion. The random fluid effect that is clearly point-to-point rather than having anything to do with the bottle or glass. The stiffness as the bottle is perfectly set back down. The complete lack of interaction between the character and the bed beyond some mild clipping, leaving her legs floating above it. The lack of even trying to pretend the character actually takes a sip of whatever isn't in the glass. The multiple shoddy attempts at hiding minor hiccups using occluding angles.

This is like, 1st year student levels of rigging and effects. It's incredible.

i was watching Raycevik's ME1 retrospective and it once again dawned on me how much more organic or at least less off-putting the dialogue and animation sequences are in that game. This was 2007:

I think the eyes help a lot

You don't know what you got till you've lost it.

I always criticized mass effect animation ,that it could be better.Turns out it could've been much worse ,and that they actually did a great job back then.

But who the hell greenlit these aliens? I mean they had the chance to do anything they wanted with this blank andromeda slate and they come up with this abomination? They look terrible, awkward Conor Mcgregor puffed out chest with terrible textures. Jesus Christ what a let down. This game could have really been something special if they had any creative minds calling the shots over there in Montreal.

Yeah they could have taken the series anywhere they wanted to and they decided to try and recreate the original games instead of doing something new.

OK, about the drink pouring.

I understand that it's not easy to have a realistic simulation of pouring a drink in a video game. Hell, realistic liquids PERIOD are a problem for a lot of devs. That shit takes time, and why spend all that time on something so mundane and inconsequential? I get that.

But for fuck's sake, if pouring a drink looks like that in your game, don't have the camera focus on it like that! Have it be off to the side, or hell, not shown at all.

What is this, amateur hour?

That's the thing that's been bothering me for a while now. I understand that it's hard to animate certain things, but if that's the case then use cinematography to hide this. Know your weakness and use your tools to hide them.

Exactly. It's like the original Alien movie. The xenomorph was played by a dude in a rubber suit, and if you see a production picture of it just standing there, it looks dreadful. But you never see it like that in the movie. They play around it and it looks fantastic.

I have no idea how anyone making this game could've looked at that drink being poured and thought "Yep, looks perfectly fine."

Guys why are the hands so bad? They never really interact with anything and they're all a bit too big and they never move right. Guys this is killing me.

I feel like the problem was that they didn't really even look for any of these problems.

This is something that is not just a bug that may appear but consistent right?

It is absolutely hilarious that characters in helmets are sweating bullets when it rains.

Been playing the game for about three hours. Animations are seriously bad but that's not even my biggest gripe on the game, dialogues... dialogues are lame most of the time like literally most of the time, I hate every option my characters has to answer question or to chat. Most disappointed aspect of the game so far.

Other than that, combat seems entertaining and the story goes well, pretty interesting for me. I also like the atmosphere in general.
