A person shouting racist things is never going to be shook by the condemnation of people they have preemptively disregarded (if anything, it will confirm their suspicions that the world is overly sensitive). Moreover, he hasn't been condemned (at least not publicly) by any of his friends in the industry; so it doesn't look like he is receiving any pressure from that side of his life. Lastly, he has been praise by the type of people he seems to associate with politically. When you consider the bubble people like him operate in, I wouldn't be surprised if he sees himself as some kind of hero now. That is certainly how a specific type of person has received him.

However, this is one repercussion I think it would be hard for him to spin. This is Jon being removed from a project that means something to him.

This saddens me. I used to really like JonTron videos. My friends and I would constantly watch them. Why did he turn out to be such a dick? I haven't followed too much of what went down, but I can't support Jon anymore for what he said. At least his recent shit like Star Cade clearly showed his lack of quality.

Right, that's what I thought. Kinda makes you wonder why they even bothered to ask the guy to do random sounds they could do themselves, but I guess him being a kinda well-known fan of their games makes some sense...

Though I understand exactly why they removed anything of him from the game.

I really hope GAF never becomes the sort of place where the shit JonTron pulled is considered acceptable. Most of YT, Twitter, etc are far gone.

I like how you are playing dumb like you're completely oblivious to the situation but then you also clearly knew that Jon said something that at the minimum can be construed as racist and then followed down the path of rejecting people's objections to what Jon believes.

Even if he foot the bill of the entire game, that does not entitle him to having his stupid voice make nonsense animal noises in the game because his stupid voice made nonsense racist statements in real life.

Primary socialization is still a thing. Children learn by copying what they hear and see, so we pick up a trait or two from our parents whether we choose to or not. I'm not going to generalize saying the following is the case for everyone, but there is undoubtedly a majority of children of racist parents that end up racists themselves. And since unlike other social issues racism is irrational, education does not correct that mindset in many cases either.

I love how this is some horrible crime that drives them to demand a refund for their backing.

It's a minor camero in the game, that was cut due him being racist. The same folks who scream about free speech don't seem to understand that this isn't a violation of it, as they aren't the government, and can include or exclude whomever they want from their game.
