30 years ago today one of the greatest sitcoms aired and that sitcom was Married with Children. No other show has come to what MWC has done. I think I'm have watched the series at least 8 times through right behind Seinfeld. So what are some of your favorite episodes and moments from the show?

Ha... I remember being told how much trash this was by my mom and grandma.. and remembering how Fox actors were almost all end of the road nobodies.. Yet the first seasons of this show were amazing and still regarded as some of the most significant sitcom seasons of all time, and three members of the cast managed to go on to fairly significant success after (plus of course Johnny Depp)

GOAT indeed. And while the overall show took a hit when Steve left, Jefferson was definitely a suitable replacement in most cases.

Steve is love, Steve is life.

Steve is best, but Jefferson was great also. It basically changed Marcy/Steve providing a contrast to Peg/Al, to Al being given a buddy who he could relate to.

Al: Isn't this nice? A quiet evening alone with my loved ones.

Kelly: Oh Daddy, that's so sweet.

Bud: Oh, don't gush it up. He's talking about his clams.

*hugs clams*

Jefferson destroys Steve. Steve was just another yuppy that matched Marcy's character. Jefferson added a new and more interesting dynamic to the show. He also joined at the perfect time, right when they started following The Simpsons, and their ratings had a significant boost.

My favorite TV sitcom ever. I got the entire series on DVD last Christmas, and it still holds up. I remember my mother forbid me to watch it, so dad just let me watch it with him when mom was at work.

I'm 24, so I don't remember the original airings, but it's become one of my favorite shows. My parents watched it and said that I would come running whenever Love & Marriage would start playing.

Loved when Peg and the kids think Al stole money from Steve's bank but it was just a bank error.

Or when Peg is sad about the peeping Tom.

Or the softball episode.

Or when Al thinks he's gonna be a judge at a beauty contest.

Or when they live in the supermarket.

Or when Steve thinks a guy from San Quentin is going to come after him and invites the Bundy over to use their VCR as protection.

Bud has a date with a mannequin.

And much much more.

Up there with I Love Lucy as far as funniest episodes are god tier. But suffers from The Simpsons where the tail end is stretched too long.

Steve or Jefferson?

Steve was important in establishing the narrative of the everyday, regular Joe that gets corrupted by Al to demonstrate how messed up the Bundy's are. By the time Jefferson comes aboard, we are full on into 'rooting' for the madness that is the Bundy Family and the only way to keep up is to bring in the absurd conman that actually revels in their madness

The episodes where Al and all his buddies are trying to install a satellite dish so they can watch football and they keep getting electrocuted and falling off the roof and at the very end the girls are trash talking them for being incompetent then it cuts to the roof and the guys are up there drinking and watching football on a tv they hauled up there and having a blast.
