I have the parental Switch app on my phone, and it clearly lets me not allow voice chat and messaging. Awesome. It even goes to the next level of control with letting me choose from game to game too. That's awesome. I hope to one day allow voice chat with friends only (obviously with the online service fee in the future).

TBH if you want friend voice chat you could just install Skype or similar on your daughters phone. My son uses Skype for pice chat when playing FIFA to avoid random abuse and to chat with friends.

Manged to get a Neon Switch today finally. Haven't even fired up Zelda or played anything on it yet and its just a cool little device.

Granted, I'm coming at the Switch from the POV of somebody that hasn't owned a console of any kind since my Gamecube and original X-box (just PC since then), but even little things like how snappy the menus are on the Switch is neat. As a piece of hardware its just a cool little device... although maybe a bit too little? Or at least maybe I'll have to get used to the Joycons. Just looking through the E-shop and settings menus with the Joycons I noticed my thumbs cramping up from them being so small. I'm already glad I've got a Pro Controller.

Is there any other Switch case close in execution to the case included with the Zelda Special Edition? Where it has the thick velcro strap for the hardware and the soft fold-over with the cart slots facing up? The closest I've seen are ones with two little elastic bands across the Joy-Con attachment points.

Deleting the Japanese account will only stop new ones from showing in your feed. The ones you already received will still be there. I imagine you have to reset the system to clear them out.

I recommend just rolling with it. They're fine.
Alright, I delinked the japanese account they'll probably all vanish sooner or later, for now it's not a huge deal, thanks for the reply!

Yellow joycon are available on Best Buy for preorder!

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/nintend...do-switch-neon-yellow/5855105.p?skuId=5855105

Yellow straps: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/nintendo-joy-con-wrist-strap-neon-yellow/5855107.p?skuId=5855107

Joycon battery pack: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/nintendo-joy-con-l-r-aa-battery-pack/5855106.p?skuId=5855106

I thought these were launching with ARMS on June 16, but Best Buy shows these as delivering on May 19. Maybe I was mistaken? Maybe Best Buy is?

The other PDP cases (Mario and Zelda editions) are the exact same interior, just different designs.

Is there a bug with the eShop?

Half of the time, when I try to buy something, I type in my credit card, hit next and it just takes me back to the blank credit card info page. No error message or anything. It basically refreshes the page instead of proceeding.

Has anyone traveled with their Switch on a plane yet in the US?

Wondering what the protocol is for security. Can I just leave it in the case I bought for it, or should I take the whole unit out and throw it into a bin like I would a laptop?

Yes, I have traveled with mine three times (so 6 flights). No issues/questions at all. I simply left it in it's case in my bag (backpack type bag) with my iPad and it went right through. You won't have any issues.

Thanks a bunch! No idea how I overlooked that. Shame they're all so expensive compared to the other cases. I guess I'll save up for it.

Nintendo has to be making insane money from all the different accessories.

I'm gonna hate it when more stuff is readily in stock at stores, cause the temptation to buy stuff for my Switch is big.

I could definitely use a second dock just for convenience lol.
I want a second dock but I'm trying to hold out for a third party solution even though it may never come.

My Switch locked up somehow with the blaster master game up. It's totally frozen, no buttons are responsive, holding the power button does nothing. I'm guessing I have to disconnect the battery somehow... Right?

edit: nm, just needed to hold power button for longer.

Yeah holding the power button down to reset takes unusually longer than any other hardware reset I have ever done in my life. It is crazy how long it takes.

Lol there needs to be a stickied post:

"Is your Nintendo Switch frozen? Hold down the power button longer. Yes. Just keep holding. I promise. It works."

Edit - this just made me think, have we had any reports of any bricked Switches yet? I haven't seen any personally.

Issue with laptops is the hard drive—because Switch is Flash Memory, not an issue.

I gotta say seeing Snipperclips at the top of the eShop bestsellers (in the US at least) makes me happy. Such a well-made little game. It's genius.

I have this and it is fantastic.

Anyone hyped for PuyoPuyo Tetris? The advanced tutorial videos Sega put out for the Puyo mechanics has sold me. It looks like it's gonna be insane and addictive. Physical is $30 with the Prime discount if you preorder on Amazon so I but the bullet.

Absolutely. I've played the demo for a few hours already. ^_^

Oh shit you just reminded me I should preorder it.

You know, having a Neon Switch, the Joy-cons I want next is one yellow and one grey. Want that full diversity.

Now how to go about it, buy separate or go for a trade, and which one should be the L and R.

Logically the L should be yellow to ensure it's a fixed Joy-con, but somehow I want it to be the right one with IR camera and I have also been wanting to match grey and red on the console for a long time.

Decisions, decisions 🤔

This seems to be exactly the same as my Orzly case, ordered from Amazon.fr...

I love it, it feels really good. Switch stays well in place and the padding covering the screen is nice. The little mesh pocket is good for holding little things like inears too.

EDIT. Smell is quite nasty, like the one review said, tho. It goes away after a few days.

Aiii

So not worth it

Bought the Japanese version when I got the Switch, it's by far the best Switch game outside of Zelda right now.

Sure. Preordered and can't wait for it! Demo is great. Destroyed a friend in Tetris as well as PuyoPuyo :D

Do you think or do you ever tried to charging Switch with a normal usb WHILE is in the dock?

Since the ac adaptor use usbc i think the only problem would be the voltage.

The voltage is a big deal. Without Power Delivery, you're only going to max out at 15W (5V/3A).

Absolutely. I preordered it last month. It's my most wanted game right now. The price reduction on Amazon definitely helped push me to physical, though I have a feeling I would prefer a digital copy in the long run.

I'm legitimately thinking about getting an ethernet switcher and generic lan adapter for my Switch. The wifi on the device is simply abysmal.

You sure you're hitting next? What button are you pressing?

Do you have a link to the video?

Switching our 10 years old router to new one fixed all my network issues with the device. Not sure if people really upgrade their networking devices but this was long overdue.

I wouldn't say I'm hyped, but I like the demo (at least the Tetris part) and plan on buying it digitally as it's a great pick up and play game.

That's really not that big a deal though. I'm pretty sure those with power meters here found the Switch won't pull more than 2.6A anyway. So even a decent 5v/2a charger should be fine and not that much slower in charging.

I bought this one and have been fine with it. Charges nearly as quickly as the Dock when in sleep mode, charges while playing Zelda (albeit slowly) etc.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0196JB1ZS/?tag=neogaf0e-20

I rarely charge other than with the dock anyway, and mostly just wanted a brick with more than 1 port as I was tired of constantly changing out lighting, micro usb, usb and USB-c cables from the one port one I had next to me recliner.

2.6A at 5V is ⅓ less power than 2.6A at 15V though. It's less than the Switch draws when running (docked) and charging.

Whelp, ordered an L grey Joy-con. At exactly half price of the double set, so screw it. Hope it's a fixed one.

Ah, true. I wasn't thinking about playing in docked mode as I'll never do that other than with the Dock (don't seem to have scratch issues/don't care about light scratches on the bezel even if I did). So I wasn't willing to pay more for something with PD, and all were sold out at the time anyway, given how rarely I charge the Switch outside of the dock.
