This is how they choose to end the season...

Better to leave no "hook" loose ends if they're going on a year-long (or longer) hiatus. I'm honestly glad they didn't tie Jack Bauer into it when his predicament could potentially go unanswered again.

I understand that logic, it just hurts when you remember how 24 ended in the first 8 seasons (forget Live Another Day).

Each season finale was powerful (S3 was just sad I admit), this didn't live up to it.

This is the Bauer-defenestration moment of the season. it was just awesome.

Yup, I absolutely loved that moment it made me smile. Glad Mullins was a good guy so he could get do that as a hero moment.

I love how Carter and Andy are a team now. Like Jack and Chloe.

And Keith had the best moment of the season with that takedown.

Yup, it should be more interesting now to see them keep working together now that they know each other and are set up as a team so that they can actually build off that by getting them into more situations where they have trust each other (since the character development was kind of slim this season) along with finally having another good guy CTU director in Mullins.

Yeah, that take down and the Carter/Andy team were probably among the two best things in the season.

I'm guessing he realised that Simms was right about the effects that the East July details coming out would have on Ingram after hearing about Simms' suicide

So the season ended with Carter choosing truth and Donovan choosing secrecy ?

Anyway, I laughed at Mullins telling Andy the funeral was tomorrow. I guess if you change suit in minutes, you can organize a high-ranking federal agent funeral in 24 hours.

And that's it on season 1 of #24legacy. Love all the fans and hope to see you all again next year. #MarianaStiles over and out. @24fox

Wait, there's more next year????

So I just realized something. After Mullins's chokehold takedown...we never saw that guy again. He was unconscious for the entire finale. Mullins should be tapped for UFC for that.

Yeah, pretty mediocre finale. No crazy twists, no ultra deep cover double twist moles, no anguished moments where Jack Carter has to kill an innocent person to save a lot of people, not many moments except early on where nobody will believe or trust Carter, nothing that really defines this as 24 other than technobabble, gadgets, and big ol' gun fights.

The morgue scene was great though, some high caliber acting going on there between Senator Bail Organa (sorry just saw Rogue One again) and his dad.

Although that reminds me... what the fuck happened to Uncle Ruiz? He in mexico now? Maybe he and Isaac can set up a new cartel down there.

Also, I never understood any of the stuff the Senator was worried about for Rebecca. She had nothing to do with the daughters kidnapping, that was all DCI guy. It seems like they are setting up the Senator to be the bad guy for season 2, but given the ratings I assume thats never gonna happen and thats probably good. This season was ok, but it was not great, and a reboot needs to be GREAT.

While I'm glad they ended without a cliffhanger, it felt abit anti-climatic. Tony was completely wasted as a character. The uncle is still out there and he's shady as fuck.

The whole kidnapping operation was her idea

LOL @ Mullen's hat, kinda cool to see an actor wearing gear from a show they are done with.

Terrible. Don't bother coming back 24 if this is all you've got.

It was more like... "Ok" . Not terrible, but didn't come close to the heights of many Bauer seasons. Same crews for the most part, which is why much of the same tone is there.

The ending was certainly hurt by having to be self-contained though.

So Donovan changed suddenly his mind because... of what exactly ?

Yeah wtf.

There are so many loose ends and unanswered questions here:

-What happened to all the other terrorist cells?
-Why did the brother (who we spent ten episodes with) disappear in the last two?
-Why did Donovan turn to the dark side in the last five seconds?
-Where did Donovan's douchebag uncle go?
-Why did the US government keep the daughter of a terrorist sheikh's bodyguard alive when the terrorist sheikh was dead?
-What happened to the dude Mullins choked out?
-Why did you have Tony show up if you were going to break his arm and leave him on the sidelines?
-Why is Carter even the hero of this series?

Ugh, what an awful season. I only enjoyed 2 or 3 episodes.

Such a shame though, I am/was a huge 24 fanatic. I was excited for legacy and introducing a whole new cast, but this was disappointing.

I would say season 6 was better than legacy.

RIP 24 :(

Waste of Tony. The entire season I mean, not necessarily this episode.

He's the only reason I even watched this season. I really wanted to see what they would do with Tony and how he would tie in with the previous seasons. He was completely pointless. There could have been a brand new character in his place and it wouldn't change a thing. It was pointless fanservice. If there is a next season, I probably won't be watching.

Yeah wtf.

There are so many loose ends and unanswered questions here:

Let me try:

-What happened to all the other terrorist cells?they are still out there
-Why did the brother (who we spent ten episodes with) disappear in the last two? after trying to steel Carter's wife he left
-Why did Donovan turn to the dark side in the last five seconds? with no one who knows the truth now, I guess he said fuck it, let me get mine
-Where did Donovan's douchebag uncle go? probably for another season
-Why did the US government keep the daughter of a terrorist sheikh's bodyguard alive when the terrorist sheikh was dead? the us government had nothing to do with this. It was Ingrm's plan but from there, I don't know
-What happened to the dude Mullins choked out? likely left in a holding cell and forgotten
-Why did you have Tony show up if you were going to break his arm and leave him on the sidelines? can't kill him but he has to be defeated by the new guy
-Why is Carter even the hero of this series?good agent getting him good roles

This season was weak. Tony's return was weak. Just bleh. These 12 episode seasons have done nothing to make them better than the original 24 episode format. The time jumps are so awkward and pointless. I'm just... disappointed.

They should have just had each episode cover two hours instead of doing a timeskip epilogue at the end.

They need to cancel this shit and only bring 24 back again if Kiefer decides to do it. Have Tony break him out of the Russian prison and pretend like Legacy never happened.

But, but, what happens to Masuka? Does he get to tweak the server with SQL?

Masuka comes back as the villain for the next season of 24, and plants SQL bombs all over America which detonate with injected code precision as the firewalls of America are breached by dilithium crystals injected directly into the warp nacells of Homeland security. In the final showdown, he keeps choking out Mullins but lets him back up but is shot dead by our mysterious hero, who turns out to be ... Edgar Stiles, who faked his own death.

Deleted scene from the show featuring a little Andy backstory. Yup, its just as terrible as everything else in the show:

I >think< Senator Bail Organa decided to cover everything up and run for President because if he came out with the truth Rebecca would have been smeared as a rogue agent who did unspeakable things. Which again, doesn't really make much sense to me. I guess I missed a scene where Rebecca was the one who was behind EVERYTHING including kidnapping Naseri's daughter, but honestly in the grand scheme of things thats a pretty minor horrific event for the public to absorb, especially given that she was alive and not murdered and the fact that drone strikes and bombs kills hundreds of civilians (including wedding parties) every year with pretty much zero response from the public. I mean, we just dropped the biggest bomb in the world in Afghanistan and I have seen NOTHING about collateral damage or any interest from anyone to find out.

It also doesn't make any sense that she never tells Carter once, especially on their long 20 minute drive over to meet the son/Naseri, that "hey by the way Naseri's daughter is alive and she is HERE and if things go sideways you should totally use her!" It feels like it was a last minute change to the script.

So who was the CTU mole? If it was supposed to the intelligence officer guy that doesn't make sense because he supposedly did everything under Rebecca's command. Why would she leak information about Carter's squad to get them killed?

That was an odd final. So many aspects of it were bizarre. It seemed incredibly rushed (the terrorist killing Rebecca, Naziri [sp?] and dying all in the space of ten seconds with characters teleporting everywhere), mostly tied up with some bizarre loose ends (the uncle is just gone?). It was weirdly paced and quite anticlimactic.

The only leak was the father-in-law and the uncle. There actually wasn't a mole in CTU this time.

Yeah, the notion that Rebecca or even the dude who killed himself, would be in so much trouble over this, is utterly laughable. When has any US government higher-up ever been held accountable for their war crimes, let alone far worse ones than kidnapping a civilian?

I actually enjoyed the season a lot more than expected without Jack but that finale was just so boring and a let down, probably one of the weakest episodes in the season.

Fun to watch but nothing made it "24" in my mind. No gut-wrenching decisions for Carter to make, no crazy situations. If anything, the show played it very safe in all regards. I'd score it a 6.5 overall: decent but forgettable.

Andy recovered the laptop with the sleeper cells list when escaping from the terrorists compound, so we can guess that the CTU probably have arrested, are arresting or will arrest all of them.

I just binged the last few eps and I'm pretty sure it's explicitly mentioned they're hitting all the sites found on the drive.

Tony was so pathetic. He spent a couple of episodes torturing someone but didn't get information from it, then turns down some foreign job at the last minute while packing his bags, then goes on a mission to kill a little girl and ends up with a broken arm and lets the girl get away.

The whole season was just completely uneventful. Old 24 would be throwing in twists and turns every episode and kept you on your toes, this didn't have anything interesting happen all season.

I thought there had to be a mole at CTU for the terrorists to know where to abduct Carter's wife and brother in the hood.

Tony was the reason I watched this season and his role was disappointing.

Glad that's over, at least they didn't kill Tony

This show had moments of the old 24, but few and far between. If I need to see more 24 its probably better to rewatch the entire show or check out Designated Survivor.

I actually enjoyed this season quite a bit. It's not 1:1 with the old 24, but that doesn't mean it's bad. Just different. Hopefully they renew it.

I enjoyed the season and new cast a lot. Hoping for a season 2.

By the way according to this interview-we're right. They originally wrote Tony's role as some new character and at the last minute said "hey we could make this Tony Almaeida."

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/li...on-finale-explained-will-be-a-season-2-994605

Originally it was going to be pretty generic, a new character who was going to be called in and be the face of this team. Then the inspiration hit: Why not make it Almeida? He's the perfect man to be hired for this. Once that clicked, it became perfect, to put Almeida up against Carter. Is Almeida going to go through with his mission? Because he doesn't know that [Rebecca's life is at stake], and the irony was too sweet, the idea that he doesn't know that if he stops Carter, the woman he loved might die as a result.

I think the terrorist was monitoring the police communication network. When Carter's wife arrested the officer told the brother he already input it into the system. That how the terrorist know where to kidnap both of them.

That was a good season. I feel like some of you are being a bit too hard on it. It's one of the weaker seasons of the series but I'd put it above seasons 6, 4 and the first half of 8 personally.

I hope it gets a second season as I think they could take more risks now that they have all the set up out of the way.

Also, I think the "12 hours later" should happen in the middle of the season. It could shake up the formula even more and allow for two "pods" similar to what Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. did this year.
