I got Voodoo Vince since I love 3D platformers and never played it on og xbox. Everything seemed fine except I thought the controls on Vince were really weird. He moved crazy fast and he only stayed in the air for a fraction of a second when he jumped. I thought it was a really weird design decision and maybe why the game wasn't more popular.

Turns out there's a bug when running at higher than 60fps.

It's really hard to justify Harvest Moon on PC in a post-Stardew Valley world. It really is that good.

Hmm... I remember the hype around the time when it was released, but i was too busy with my studies at the time. Totally forgot about it. Will definitely be picking this up next time it's on sale or in a bundle.

Is it more similar to the golden SNES harvest moon or the ones of today?

Now the question is... Yooka or Vodoo?

Have you downloaded the latest patch yet? It fixed the animation issues for me while running at a high refresh rate, pretty quick turnaround. Some other notes:

Update and fixes are live!
APRIL 19 - BEEPGAMES
We've updated Voodoo Vince: Remastered to address some issues we've heard about since our launch yesterday:

1. Some players reported seeing a black screen at launch and/or a freeze at the Beep Games logo screen. This has been fixed.

2. Fixed issues with toggling full screen mode on/off with certain high end monitors.

3. Fixed bug that caused animation and physics to run at hyper speed when monitor refresh rate was set to higher than 60hz.

4. Fixed Pin Swing keyboard bug that prevented using the move while Vince is in mid-air.

5. Fixed rare crash in Busy Butler level. As it was caused by audio cross fade this may fix issues in other parts of the game.

It's similar to the older top down Harvest Moon games, like SNES, Friends of Mineral Town, etc., definitely worth a buy at some point.

Last time I played it was around 1pm eastern today so I'm guessing this patch came out a little later? I could get it working by forcing my monitor to 60 hz but figured they'd have a patch out soon.

Narrow FOV?

I think it's some combination of the weird auto follow camera and bad frame rate. Could be fov too. It's kind of crazy, I was getting a dizzy feeling just switching between save slots. I'm not particularly susceptible to dizziness in games so I don't know what's so different. Definitely wish I had gone with the PC version. I'm sure it will be 50% off in the summer or something.

I think Yooka-Laylee is one of the first big Unity games I've played that doesn't have inexplicably garbage performance. Relatively steady 60 FPS at 4K with a 980ti.

Been playing Obscure lately and the game has a decent atmosphere, each character has an unique ability to them and its kinda challenging mostly because it has that awkward combat system old survival horror games had plus a dumbass AI controlled partner that may get in the way while you attack monsters or would waste ammo quickly if you give em a weapon a la Sheva. Also what up with no widescreen option when the original version had that?

I believe it went up about around 6pm EST or that's when I noticed it but yeah, later in the day; sounds like the patch should solve the issue for you. It was actually nice traversing so quickly in the early parts of the game but any kind of precision platforming was a bad time.

I haven't played the SNES HM, and HM64 is my favourite in the series and Stardew Valley is better. Plays better, more convenience options, and more to do. Only thing that could be a drawback for folks is the combat aspect.

But, like, if you've ever liked HM, Stardew Valley is a game for you.

Is 8 bit int or 16 bit float better for color in the Chronicles of Riddick pc version? Have never heard of the latter.

I think 16-bit is a wider color gamut. It should give you more color range unless it requires certain hardware to utilize it.

The first Riddick was a crazy-good port for its time.

I'm playing the Dark Athena version, has a super bizarre performance issue where it runs at 60 fps during action but if you get close to a wall or door the framerate plummets

Wow Stardew sure did well..

Better port something irrelevant.

Thing is, Natsume doesnt own Harvest Moon. Just the brand in West. If they had to port an Harvest Moon title, it'd be the own they developped in house and not the one developped by Marvelous...

Although if they have porting rights on the older ones they localized, I'd love them to release the Gamecube one.

Ah, Obscure, hadn't heard the name for a while... save your ammo for the last boss, and the laser gun iirc.

Wild Guns Reloaded coming to PC via Steam

Natsume's first PC game? I welcome more games to Steam.
Holy shit fuck yeah!

Even if that were the case it would still sell many more units than Wild Guns.
Both should still release on steam
Wildmguns with mouse control would be pretty imteresting to play as.
...and really does it HAVE to be Harvest Moon or Story of Seasons? I agree they should release that as well, it being their mainline/popular franchise but the fact that they MUST release it and that any other title is a bad move sounds like some Pro Steam Curation shit.

I played through the game with wifey, good stuff, but yeah the lack of wide screen options is unfortunate.

Yeah, now Rune Factory Frontier on the other hand...

That would be amazing

I don't think SteamGAF would be able to handle Rune Factory if it came to Steam.

I can handle it, no worries

why is that?

Wild Guns is better than Harvest Moon though.

In what way, better farming mechanics? More relevant NPCs? Nice finishing?

how can you compare a shooter to sim-RPG anyway? on what criteria?

Nice.

It has a dog that blows stuff up with a drone, how can you hate that shit?

Seriously SteamGAF hating on frikkin' Wild Guns? May the Steam Curation Apocalypse happen already and then we can all start posting like freakin' Console Warriors.
