Considering we know something DMC related is happening in the near future. I'm curious to see what everyone's DMC wishlist is and what version of the series they would like to see in the future (Since I know there are DmC fans). I didn't label the thread DMC5 just because there is always a possibility we're greeted with something else. These are in no particular order and I would say all carry the same particular weight.
- Devil May Cry 1-3 ports for the current gen consoles and PC
- I think this one probably doesn't even need to be said. Considering how port happy Capcom has been lately. Regardless new ports of the older games for current gen and PC would be a nice thing to have to tide people over and build hype for whatever is coming next (Much like the ports of 4-6 before RE7 came out) - Move the series timeline forward
- I know i'm not the only one a bit tired with the DMC timeline (Which goes 3412) shenanigans. Even if they have to pull some craziness to pull it off, i'd like to see a game that takes place after DMC2. If you have to explain all those unspent years vaguely, that's fine by me. Just because it's finally in the future, doesn't mean you can't have fan favorites around. - Offer up a good plot even for newcomers
- Obviously this is DMC so i'm not expecting a deep psychological study of a story. But I think a story on par with DMC3 would help a lot for the next title. Let people who haven't played a DMC title in years still get some enjoyment from the story, while offering up older things for series fans. I'd say a recent capcom comparison would be RE7. While it wouldn't need to go that far in being it's own thing, a similar easing in point would be nice to see. Especially after the 9 years from DMC4 (Just gonna ignore SE for the sake of it). - A shake-up to the Character Action Genre
- This is going to be a little more broad. Since this is coming from a more casual side of things (I never beat any Bloody Palace or got all SSS ranks, beat DmD, and any other hardcore things). But i'd like to see that the 9 year wait was worth it. Just like DMC4 set the bar at the time gameplay wise. I'd like to see the same thing for DMC5. I don't know exactly what this would entail, but i'll know it when I see it. I think there's room for big changes in the genre while still pleasing the fans that have waited so long for a new game. - No retreading for new characters if it's part of the story (To an extent)
- While I know a lot of this in DMC4 was due to the game being rushed. I really would hate to see DMC5 pushing numerous characters, and being unable to support them story wise. I don't think anyone really liked how Dante's campaign in DMC4 was basically a retread. So that sort of thing I hope is kept away from the game. Obviously if they insist on a multiple character set-up again and certain parts connect that's fine. But I don't want to play the same campaign but with a new character (Unless said character is nothing more than a bonus). - Appeasement for DmC fans (Or vice versa if this is somehow DmC 2)
-This is more of a catch-all in case capcom throws a wild card at everyone. But regardless i'd like to see things that can appeal to both audiences. If it's DMC5, there's no harm in offering up DmC skins or weapons into the game. Especially for the likes of a bloody palace mode. Where DmC characters could in essence be their own thing. Since I doubt capcom is crazy enough to try and combine the universes in some way. If it's the opposite and it's DmC 2, do a lot of what was seen in DmC DE. Which to me was basically a apology letter to that group.
